Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Shout Joyfully!
Psalm 98:4-7
4. "Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
Break forth in song, rejoice,
and sing praises.
5. Sing to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of a psalm,
6. With trumpets and the sound of a horn;
Shout joyfully before the Lord,
the King."
These lovely Cardinals and this Red Bellied Woodpecker (below) gave me much joy to see today!
This woodpecker is really giving me a close look!
And yes, there were a couple of Canadian Geese here again, quite close to shore, wading around and looking for their breakfast:
But here's what really brought a "joyful shout" from my lips! I was busily watching the cardinal in the tree in front of me, when I heard this shrill cry in the sky, and I looked up, and at first I thought it was just a buzzard, but then when I looked closer, and the sun shone on that white head and tail feathers, soaring high above me, was this beautiful eagle!!!
Isaiah 40: 25-31
25. "To whom then will you liken Me,
or to whom shall I be equal?"
says the Holy One.
26. Lift up your eyes on high,
and see who has created these things,
Who brings out their host by number;
He calls them all by name.,
By the greatness of His might
and the strength of His power;
Not one is missing.
27. Why do you say, O Jacob,
and speak, O Israel;
'My way is hidden from the Lord,
And my just claim is passed over by my God"?
28. Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29. He gives power to the weak,
and to those who have no might He increases strength.
30. Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
and the young men shall utterly fall.
31. But those who wait on the LORD
shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint."
I don't know about you, but these verses from Isaiah always give me such comfort and encouragement. Whenever I am feeling weak and weary, God sends along His "eagle's wings" to lift me up and carry me, until my strength is renewed.
Hear what God said to Moses to tell the children of Israel:
Exodus 19:3-5
3. "And Moses went up to God,
and the LORD called to him from the mountain, saying,
"Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob,
and tell the children of Israel:
4. "You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself."
5. "Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice
and keep My covenant,
then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people;
for all the earth is Mine."
We are seeing things happening in our nation and world right now that give us great concern. We are proud of our President, and his courage to stand strong against our enemies. But we may have some anxieties over what the overall outcome of such action might be. However, when I read these verses above in Exodus, especially verse 4, I am encouraged to know that just as God bore His beloved Israel on eagles' wings and brought them to Himself, I believe He will do the same for His beloved children who have been adopted into His family through the precious blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. I believe that we, who are a part of the "Bride of Christ", are also a special treasure to Him, and all the earth belongs to God, and we need not fear what man will do to us. Those "eagles' wings" are still there for us, ready to bear us up and give us strength and carry us directly to God Himself.
Therefore:
"Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
Break forth in song, rejoice,
and sing praises."
Psalm 98:7-9
7. "Let the sea roar, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell in it;
8. Let the rivers clap their hands;
let the hills be joyful together before the Lord,
9. "For He is coming to judge the earth,
with righteousness He shall judge the world,
and the peoples with equity."
So let us sing and shout joyfully to the Lord...because the "Judge of the all the earth will do right"...(see Genesis 18:25)

Thank you. These are among my favorite verses. I am particularly fond of all verses that do nothing but praise the Lord for who and what he is. They make my heart sing!
ReplyDeleteAmen! "My God is so great, so strong and so mighty, there's nothing My God cannot do"...this is a song that we used to sing with the kids in VBS and Sunday School. I love it.
DeleteIt is always thrilling to see an Eagle! I just get all puffed up inside when I see one. They are majestic and strong and so beautiful! Wonderful verses today, Pam. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Terri. I know, I was so excited when I saw the eagle. It is the first I have seen at our new location, and made me so happy to know they are here. Such a blessing to see God's messenger of hope and encouragement!
DeleteWhy do eagles create such emotion? I agree with Terri, I always gasp when I see one! I just love the way they circle around and around, they truly are majestic birds. People are concerned about the direction our nation is headed but those who know the Lord have a peace that passes all understanding!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO true, Cindy. The Lord gives us great peace even in the midst of the turmoil of this world. We've read the end of the book...and we know that our God will reign victoriously over all the evil of this world. So therefore, we need not fear. Thank you for that reminder! Blessings to you and yours in 2020.
DeleteWow, Pamela, your photos of that eagle are stunning! And yes, the verses you shared with us here truly speak comfort to my heart. God's eagle wings will carry us onward, upward and forward always.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, my friend!
We are so blessed to be carried by God's eagle wings when we need it most. Thank you for your encouraging words and welcome visit! Blessings to you and yours as well.

ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting here today! I am so glad that you were blessed by the pictures and the scriptures from God's Word. That is what gives me great peace and comfort each day as well. God bless you, and please come back and visit again!
DeleteYou have a front row seat for the birds who come to "the watering hole", so to speak!
ReplyDeleteThe Cardinals are such a treat due to their brilliant red feathers. We did not have Cardinals in Colorado.
And the Eagle. Wow. We "followed" an Eagle one day on a country road here in our area. He was high above our car; it was as though he was following the road to his destination!!
Oh how wonderful to "follow an eagle"! I'll bet Tom was having a hard time staying on the road while watching the eagle in the sky! LOL. I love that, however. They are so majestic. I didn't know you didn't have cardinals in Colorado! Wow! I guess I forget that different parts of the country don't have the same birds, but you probably had others that we don't have here. And yes, we are enjoying the "watering hole". Now that the weather is cooler is seems that we have more and more activity than before. I love it. Everyday is a new adventure!! Thank you for visiting today!!
DeleteYour pictures are gorgeous, my friend. What a sanctuary you live in! I especially love the brilliant color of the cardinal. God's artisty in creation is simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteThank you Patti. Yes, we are blessed to be here. But every part of the country has its own beauty to enjoy. God has His artistry everywhere when we look for it!! Thank you for visiting!!
DeleteGood photos. Brought this song to mind for me.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Annie. That is a new song to me. Thank you for sharing it. Very pretty.
DeleteBeautiful pictures. I can tell you enjoy your new home. God Bless you and yours.
ReplyDeleteThis blessed me.
