Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Morning Mercies
Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to see another sunrise!
Thank You, Lord, for so many dear friends praying and sending their well wishes for my surgery.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing their prayers and bringing me safely through and on to better days ahead in which to give You praise and honor and glory!
Thank You, Lord, for your healing mercy and grace.
Amen.
Dear friends, I am up early this morning with the sunrise, because I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your prayers and support during this surgery experience! I am SO thankful to be able to sit here once again at my computer and write to you. Thank you for all the kind messages on my last post. I am not able to answer them all individually. I am limiting my time sitting up and doing things, but I just had to let you know that I am home and doing as well as can be expected! I did end up spending the night in the hospital after all. I apparently do not tolerate anesthesia very well, and even after talking to the anesthesiologist before the procedure, and him assuring me that he was going to use medications that should not make me sick, I still got sick. That coupled with the pain after surgery and the need for more strong pain medicine, well...I was in NO condition to get in the car and ride an hour home. So thankfully they placed me in a very nice private room with a view, (although this was at night and the blinds were partially closed so you can't really SEE the view)
View behind my bed:
View in front of my bed:
View from in my bed: Beware...this is as scary as a Halloween Mask! LOL.
This is my current glamor shot. LOL.
I know I probably shouldn't show this, but it will maybe keep unwanted suitors away. LOL.
The only real issue right now is swallowing. It hurts to swallow, and so I am limited to soft foods and liquids. And just general pain from muscles and nerves that were strained and stretched, etc., but hopefully that pain should dissipate soon.
So, I just wanted to let you know that I am still among the living...and I praise God for His kindness and mercy.
And while I've been writing this, the skies got even more beautiful. Looks like a pretty day, although you know the old saying, "red sky at morning, sailors take warning..." But our weather report shows sunny skies.
"22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness."
Lamentations 3:22-23
Amen.

ReplyDeletePam: Praise the LORD! We know about those post-surgical bumps in the road. Hubby had a few of them. Thank you for the update. God loves you and I do, too.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better after your surgery! I thought they would go from the back of the neck. Praying that you heal quickly!
ReplyDeleteSOme pain and discomfort is likely to be expected. Just take time to rest and allow your body to heal, as God directs it.

ReplyDeleteSo good to see you and know you are on your way to healing. God is very good. I have been away with some personal issues. I am grateful I let go of all the torubles and God helped us find some grace. It has been a harrowing week here for my sweethusband, sturgulling to breathe and no dr,. or pharmacy cared or concerned themselves. Veyr disturbing to me. But grateful God worked His way for us and today they finally found the script to send the medication needed to breath. It has been such a cruel week for us.
ReplyDeleteI am happy for you and pray you will heal completely and enjoy your life with those you love best. Many prayers have been sent for you and will continue to do so. Take care LOVE and PRAYERS
Praise Him! Praise Him for his mercy! So glad you are "on the mend" and sorry you had to spend that night in the hospital. The anesthesia is so awful. Better than being awake I guess. That's quite a slice on your neck! A vampire went wild! REST and prayers still goin' up up UP!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear your update and to see that all went well. Anesthesiology is hard to get just right. I always worry myself when I go in fora procedure. Please do take it easy and hope you are feeling top notch soon.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are home. Take care of yourself. I will be gone away for a few days so I won't check in until next week, but you will be in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are doing okay dear lady. Bless your heart! So glad all went well and I surely lifted you up to the Lord. Hugs and blessing, Cindy

ReplyDeleteCatching up is my middle name these days! Hannah and Jake made it home safely. But had an incident of road rage on the highway 90 minutes from home. Grateful they are safe but hoping their truck is too. An agressive person in a mini van taunted Jake and Hannah had fallen asleep. So much sadness in the world. Glad Jake followed him to a truck stop and had the police on the phone so they were able to confront the person. Life is so difficult. Have to trust the One who cares for us. The mini van driver threw something at their truck and it was so loud it woke Hannah from her slumber. I am grateful they are now home and tucked away safely from that. Jake is probably the most kind and considerate driver I know.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to get my sweetheart well from this head cold he now has. ALways something. You are beautiful and you will get stronger and be healed soon. It always seems longer to us when we are the patient. God Bless You and keep up your wonderful attitude. Much love to you today. Your photos are always so beautiful and give me smiles.
