Happy SONday!

 I hope you are having a wonderful SONday today! We are so blessed to be able to worship God freely in our country, and I pray that NEVER changes!

In case you aren't able to attend church where you live, here is a link to our Sunday worship service. Our pastor records his message each week ahead of time, and our choir also records our special music for the day so that those who aren't able to attend in person can worship with us.

If you'd like to sing along with our song, or at least be able to understand all the words to this very beautiful song, here are the lyrics to "And He's Ever Interceding"

"Someone to go the extra mile, just like a mother caring for her child;
A friend who sticks thro’ think and thin,
no matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been.
Just like one great big family; a stronger, older brother He will be;
So quick and ready to defend, the younger, weaker to the end.

And He’s ever interceding to the Father for His children
Yes, He’s ever interceding to the Father for His own.
Thro’ Him you can reach the Father, so bring Him all your heavy burdens;
Yes, for you He’s interceding, so come boldly to the throne.

Just like sheep we’d gone astray, struggling ‘neath a debt we could not pay;
Not ever hoping to renew the love and fellowship that we once knew.
But He began to intercede, crying, “Father, please forgive, I plead;”
And as the nails pierced in His hands, God once again reached out to man!

And He’s ever interceding to the Father for His children
Yes, He’s ever interceding to the Father for His own.
Thro’ Him you can reach the Father, so bring Him all your heavy burdens;
Yes, for you He’s interceding, so come boldly to the throne.
So come boldly to the throne. So come boldly to the throne."

Such a powerful message of comfort and hope and love...to know that Jesus is always interceding on our behalf to God the Father...and He's always there, ready to carry our heavy burdens, "so come boldly to the throne!"

I am sure you will also enjoy the sermon from the book of James 1:17-27.  One particular part of this message that I got was from verses 22-25, about being a "doer of the word and not hearers only".  Sometimes we HEAR the Word of God and we think we have done well to hear it...but if we don't put it to use in our hearts and lives, then we are deceiving ourselves into thinking we are okay because we went to church and heard a nice sermon.  We are supposed to be applying what we have heard to our own personal lives and being changed by God's Word day by day...we should be acting upon what we have heard and reaching out to others with the love of Christ in whatever way possible.

I think this past year with the restrictions we have been living under, we have kind of given ourselves an excuse to not become involved too much in other people's lives. It is very convenient to hide behind a mask and use "social distancing" as a way to keep from reaching out to those who may be lonely, hurting, or in need of some human companionship.  But there are ways to still encourage one another even without the physical connection, (even though we still need that connection more than we realize).  Phone calls, cards, visiting with appropriate safety procedures in place...whatever the need may be.   We have not been given a pass to ignore the plights of those who may need our help in whatever way we are capable of doing.  I am preaching to myself here.  Writing our blogs can be a way of reaching out to others with words of hope, love and even some much needed laughter.  Let us focus on ways to encourage and uplift one another as much as possible...we all need it!

I know there may be some who don't fully appreciate or understand my recent "obsession" with a cute little dolly named Lily Grace.  But I hope if you have concerns for my sanity or if I may be lapsing into senility...please at least come over and visit with us first before passing judgment too quickly.  Lily Grace was a gift who has become a gift to many others with her winsome, happy, joyful ways. She has been such a blessing to me in the enacting of looking at life through the eyes of a small child again...and I hope and pray she will be just that for you as well.  I don't know how long I will be able to keep up with her as she certainly has more energy that I do...but for however long God will continue to provide the enthusiasm and imagination to make her little adventures come to life in a way that is uplifting to others, I will do my best to share them with you!
Here's Lily Grace all dressed up for Sunday School today.

Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 18:2-4:

2. "Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3. and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Here is a link to her latest adventure entitled "God Made Everything Beautiful".  I hope you will take the time to come along and enjoy this little adventure with me.
Hope you have a wonderful day!! Come see us again soon, okay?

    1. Thank you, Terri. Yes, it is always a blessing to worship with other believers. We need that so much during these days of too much isolation. And yes, I have been having a lot of fun with Lily Grace. I don't want it to become obsessive, but it just seems like God keeps blessing us with ideas and fun and ways to bless others, and as long as that is happening, I will do my best to keep up my part! Thankfully, my family understands me and they also help to keep me in "balance" while they also play along. We are having fun and I think God is pleased as well. Thank you for being a good friend to both Lily and me!

  2. Our church is still doing only on-line services, but I have to admit, it sure feels nice to participate in my pj's. (LOL) And as long as I'm being candid -- somedays I get more out of the children's sermon than I do Pastor Janet's message. Like what you and Lily Grace share in such a relatable manner. A blessing, indeed! 💕

    1. Oh, Thank you, Myra. You are very sweet, and you seem to be one of Lily Grace's biggest fans! :) Sometimes we just need to humble ourselves like a little child again and get back to the roots of our faith. Oftentimes preachers try to make things too complicated for us...if they would just keep it simple we would possibly learn a lot more. But then again we need to grow and eat the "meat" of the Word at some point too, and not just the milk. I love how Lily Grace is able to say things that I may not be able to say on my own...if that makes any sense at all. Kind of like using a puppet. I am having a good time with her and I hope we can keep it up for a while, as God gives us new "ideas". Have a wonderful week ahead!!

  3. Well Pamela I didn't think you'd lost your marbles, I know you like your dolls. I did think a doll blog was a little much but I've seen how much fun you are having with it and that makes me heart happy. Anything that bring us joy in these times is a good thing! I'm glad you had a wonderful Sunday :)

    1. Thank you, Martha. This has kind of taken me by surprise...it wasn't something I planned to do, but then Lily Grace arrived and she just sort of started sharing all these ideas and adventures...and well...it seems like it is something that God has "ordained" for this season and time. We will see how far it goes and how long I will be able to keep up with her! LOL. And yes, we do need JOY during these times. I think that is Lily Grace's mission...to bring us some sweet joy!! So, let's all just humble ourselves as a little child again and have a good time! No harm being done...and God may have something to teach us through all of this. (myself included...)

  4. I loved your message today I will listen to the sermon tomorrow. Your right sometimes its through blogging that we reach out, for me it is the positivity I get, I reached out to our friends * and got told I was using Gator's health issue asking for help* I left it in God's hands, how hurtful those words were. Realizing they were never true friends at all. I love Lily's adventures have a blessed week

    1. Oh I am SO sorry that happened to you. Sometimes people just don't think before they speak, or else they just need to think a little more clearly. It is very difficult to go through what you are going through without the support and help of friends, even if it is just moral support from distant friends. I know when my son had cancer, he was 1500 miles from us and we couldn't be there with him very often. It was so hard for us, and if it weren't for the fellowship of friends here online as well as those we knew in person, it would have been even harder. Praying the Lord will bless you with people who truly care and understand. Sending you warm (((Hugs))) and prayers today. May God bless you and your hubby with comfort and peace.

    2. Thank you very much :) Your right on the moral support there are still things that I have to get done that is extremely hard, without the support. Hope you have a great week. (((HUGS)))

    3. Praying that God will send some helpers your way when you need them. May He open the eyes of those who are near to come to your aide.

  5. I sure do miss the fellowship of our church services. watching online is ok, but the fellowship is missing. I trust God, as He is in control.

    1. Yes, God IS in control, even in the midst of all of this. We may not always understand how, but He's always there for us and watching over us in ways we do not comprehend. I am sorry you are not able to meet with your church yet in person. We have been so blessed here to be able to meet, even though we must wear masks and keep our distance...at least we are there corporately worshiping and hearing from God's Word together, and that is such a comfort. Praying things will change for you soon. (((hugs)))

  6. It's still online church for us - how I miss being with others! And like you, Pam, I hope and pray my blog touches the hearts of others for Jesus. I am so enjoying following Lily Grace's adventures; makes me feel young at heart!
    Blessings!

    1. I know you miss church and they are missing being with you as well. I pray you will be able to go soon. Thank you for cheering us on here...Lily Grace is a joy and blessing to me as well, and I hope we can keep up the "adventures" for a while longer. We aren't doing anything very exciting these days, and I hope she doesn't get "bored" living here with us old folks. LOL.

  7. Our pastor opened out church for services yesterday. We were under a "Winter Mix" of weather. Snow, followed by rain, followed again by snow. A true winter mix also includes sleet. I was not able to attend due to the weather. We get our first COVID vaccinations this Friday. I plan to be in church next Sunday. I miss seeing the people.

    1. It's wonderful that our churches have been able to have online services for people this past year. That is a blessing for so many, and may even be a way that God will help spread the Gospel into places where it's never been before!! God works in mysterious ways!! Thank you for enjoying Lily Grace with me! She's a sweetheart, that's for sure!!

Oh, and I am so happy that you love our sweet little Lily Grace. She is quite the joyful little girl in spite of all the things that are happening in our world. We need more joy in our days!!
