Good Morning Everyone! By now you have probably heard about Punxsutawney Phil's prediction of six more weeks of winter!
Lily Grace and I were up at the crack of dawn to watch and see what would happen. You can read more about that and some other very special adventures here on this link for today: It's Groundhog Day!
And in case you missed it, yesterday we talked about all the things that happen in February HERE.
I hope you are having a great February so far. I know many of our northern friends are really being hit hard by this winter storm. We are praying for you to be safe and stay warm. I know you probably aren't too excited about 6 more weeks of winter. We are pretty chilly here in Florida today too, about 40 degrees right now with a wind chill of 36. In Florida that's cold. But we know it is nothing like what you are going through, and so we are thinking of you and praying for you. Hope to hear from you all soon to be sure you are okay.
If you can't find me here every day, please be sure to check over at The Adventures of Lily Grace, because that is where I am hanging out most of the time these days. We are having such a great time...and we are making lots of people smile we hope...that is the purpose...to bring you all a fresh, happy face and something to smile about in the midst of all the mundaneness of life right now (not to mention the news that we keep trying to avoid as much as possible so it doesn't ruin our good mood!)
If we commit our days and ways unto the Lord, He will give us peace and joy...that is where my heart is right now. I hope you feel the same way. Be blessed my friends!!
I can tell you that I have always personally followed General Beauregard Lee Groundhog out of Atlanta, because I feel like he understands weather in the south better. He predicts early springs which makes me much happier. Of course, he wii probably have to change his name soon for political correctness, but I think he is a much better prognosticator for down here anyway. No offense Phil.
ReplyDeleteI never heard of General Beauregard Lee Groundhog before! Where do you see him? Must be a special channel? Oh, I do hope they won't make him change his name. I am sure his name suits him just fine. I would have loved to have seen him! But I don't know...I think we are still in for some cold weather for a while, even if we DO live in Florida!
DeleteHe actually used to be on CNN back in the old days when they were loons. I am sure they don't cover him anymore. The Atlanta newspaper usually covers him. He is in North Georgia. I always just type in his name and the year and an article always pops up. I think the local Atlanta TV stations cover him.
DeleteOh, I think that is so funny! I will have to look him up. Someone else mentioned him too. I hope you are staying nice and warm! It was really chilly here today!
DeleteI watched these gentlemen on television, too. Not sure the validity of Phil's prediction, but love the ritual. 🙂
ReplyDeleteWishing you and Lily Grace a most blessed day!
Yes, I've never quite put stock in Phil's predictions either, but this year I tend to agree...I think we are still in for some cold weather, such as it is here in Florida...not sure what you are having in your neck of the woods, but it is downright chilly here today!!
DeleteI'm not too crazy about 6 more weeks of winter either! I'll have to check out Lily Grace. Sorry I've been so lazy in visiting my new blog post may explain why.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you don't want six more weeks of winter. I did just read your blog and it sounds like you have been keeping busy even while not feeling so good. I do hope you will be feeling better now, and try to stay warm! Oh, and yes, please do come visit Lily Grace. She is a bright spot in our days!!
DeletePam: I feel sorry for Phil. THey seem to pull him out of his nice warm bed and into all those bright lights. If that were me they did that to, I would run back in where it is warm too. I think it it cruelty to an animal. Also, we had a groundhog in our back yard last summer. We believe it went to live in the vacant house to our west. Peace and blessings.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a real groundhog in person. I don't think we have them here in Florida. I think Punxsutawney Phil gets pretty good care, but I wouldn't want to be in his place either. I don't like having to get out of my nice warm bed in the mornings either. LOL. Especially if there are bright lights and people watching! LOL.
DeleteIt's snowing here, but we didn't get more than 3 or 4 inches of snow. Technically I guess the winter storm warning is still in effect until 7 pm or so. It's in the 30s and my ice art (which I have yet to blog about, though I've posted some on Instagram) is beginning to thaw a bit. I had started two new pieces, but they aren't freezing as quickly or solidly as I'd like, so they are currently in the freezer. I'll email you a photo!
ReplyDeleteI got your email! Those are so beautiful! I love them. What a great idea to do in the winter! Do you use a cookie cutter to make the shape? Just wondering how you do it. I never saw that done before! Thank you for sharing them with me. That was so sweet. Have a blessed and happy day!
DeleteYep! I'm a Beauregard Lee fan myself, Pam! He's usually right about how much winter is left in the south, but somehow, I missed his prediction today. I'll have to look it up!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I had never heard of him before today! That is pretty funny! I wouldn't be surprised to see 6 more weeks of winter, even here in Florida. It has been very cold today and will be tomorrow too. But still nothing like what everyone else is having so I dare not complain too much! I am sitting here now with a blanket wrapped around my shoulders, however. It feels so good. LOL.
DeleteIt is quite windy in my neck of the woods too! Yes, it's pretty chilly isn't it? I guess I am that person that doesn't like real cold weather but I do not like hot weather either. Never happy are we? When it's cold all I want to do is eat soup and wrap up in a blanket and I feel lazy. LOL! When it's hot all I want is AC on or the beach! Lord help me! Hoping you are doing well dear lady and appreciate your prayers so next eye surgery. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteYes, we had a right chilly day today! I didn't even go for my walk. It was just too windy and that wind cut right into my face with it being so cold. So Lily Grace and I stayed home this morning while Daddy went for a walk. My feet are cold now and I am sitting here wrapped in a blanket! And this is Florida! LOL. Praying for you, yes...when is the next eye surgery? Is it next week? I was thinking this week. Praying any way whenever it is, God knows, and He's got you covered!! Blessings to you dear friend.
DeleteI didn't see the news about the groundhog but I did see sunshine here in FL so figured he saw his shadow up there in PA. (Doesn't matter, anyway.) Say hello to Lily Grace!!
ReplyDeleteHello! It was pretty doggone chilly here today and windy too, even if the sun DID come out...I am still sitting here tonight wrapped up in a blanket! Lily Grace sends her love! Good Night!
DeleteSix more weeks of winter is about what we can expect, no matter what the groundhog says. I'm still waiting for that good dump of snow.
ReplyDeleteDo you all have a groundhog in Canada too, or do you watch Punxsutawney Phil? It's all kind of silly...but fun. We are all chilly today I think, even here in Florida. Be sure to take some pictures when you do get that good dump of snow! (If you can get out the door, that is! :) )
