(This was the version of this song that I was familiar with.
May the Lord give you inward peace today.
Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!
Peace perfect peace. In Christ we can have that peace.
ReplyDeleteYes, Ruth, ONLY in Christ will we find perfect peace. The world does not have this kind of peace. They may try to write peace treaties and other agreements, but without Christ, there can not be lasting peace of any kind. This world is not our final home, praise God!
DeleteOh, Pamela, I can't begin to tell you what comfort I took from this beautiful hymn. I so needed this reminder in the light of all that is going on in our country. I know God cares so deeply for His people, and He will always keep His promises no matter what. I think he would love President Trump's slogan, "Promises Made, Promises Kept." Let us never stop praying for this nation.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and peace!
No, we will never stop praying for our nation and our nation's leaders, regardless of who they are. Even those we disagree with need our prayers, perhaps even more because that is our only hope of them ever making the right decisions and standing up to the enemies of our freedom and peace. Yes, I believe God has been very much guiding our President for the past four years, regardless of what others may think. He was open to guidance from spiritual leaders and people of faith, and that helped him to make decisions that protected our freedom and rights and faith. We must keep praying for our new leaders, that they will somehow hear God's voice pointing them in the right direction even when the others around them want to go the opposite direction. God is still on the throne, and He is able to keep us safe and protected from the onslaughts of the enemy. But we have to keep praying and exercising our faith.
DeleteSo beautiful. Thank you. I am going to share the video with my sis to listen to. Have a blessed evening,
ReplyDeleteOh I do hope Karen will enjoy it. Please tell her I am praying for her. ((((Hugs)))) for both of you.
DeleteWhat a beautiful voice on Video #1! Both are fading out and in ... and out again. Our internet's not the greatest, but I'll come back tomorrow morning to listen all the way through. Who amongst us isn't craving some peace in their lives? Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am sorry the voices are fading on the video. It wasn't the best recording, but it was all I could find of that particular version of that song. Yes, we are all seeking peace of mind and heart during these trying times. May the Lord bless us and keep us strong and full of His peace. Amen.
DeletePeace be with you, dear friend!!
ReplyDeleteAnd with you as well. We are blessed to know the Mighty Peacemaker!!
DeletePam, I love that verse and that stunning photo! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. Our geese are coming around more frequently these days and so I look for every opportunity I can to get some pictures of them while they are here. And isn't it wonderful to know that God will keep us in perfect peace when we keep our hearts and minds tuned into Him? Of course that means we need to tune out what is going on around us as much as possible. May your day be filled with "perfect peace."
DeletePamela, this song you posted is wonderful, too. So appropriate for our times. How We Need the River is a song I first heard at our Intercessors for America prayer group that meets every Friday. I love to sing along with it, but then I cry every time! I think I cry for joy!
ReplyDeleteOh Schotzy! I had to listen to it several times and I cried and sang and worshiped the Lord with it. I shared it on my facebook page. I've never heard that song before, and it truly is beautiful and so healing. Thank you for sharing it. I wish our choir could sing it, but that is above our talent level...so I will just enjoy it and share it whenever I can. Thank you!
DeleteThank you so much. Cling to God through Jesus and you shall have His peace and His joy.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Aritha. That is so very true. When we draw near to Him He will keep us in that place of perfect peace. Thank you so much. May God bless you with peace today as well.
DeleteI have never heard that song, but I love that verse and I feel it's much needed in this time.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cathy. Yes, we are all in need of God's perfect peace. May the Lord help us each to find it as we seek Him first.
DeleteGreat song, great scripture. I hate to think where we would be without the peace of God. There are many scriptures about peace to call on during times of trouble. Here's another good one . . . John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. ~ My heart is not troubled and I am not afraid. Thank You Lord Jesus
ReplyDeleteyes, praise God we do not need to be afraid because Jesus has come to give us perfect peace...His peace that passes ALL understanding, beyond anything this world can offer. Praise God that we know the author of that peace. Amen.
DeleteIsaiah 26:3 is very comforting. We all need to focus on it, especially now. Beautiful post, Pam. That first photo with the goose in Still Waters Pond is really good.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barbara. Yes, we are in need of focusing on Christ and His peace and keep our eyes on Him and not on the world. We are so blessed to know the One Who has overcome the world, and that gives us great peace!!
DeleteGreat mediation, Pam. God's peace is truly the best.
ReplyDeleteLoved and blessings!
