Tuesday 4: Rejoice!!

 Rejoice!!

Hello and welcome to Tuesday 4 dedicated to the memory of Toni Taddeo, the founder.

Lets rejoice today!

1. What makes you rejoice the most?
Oh, this is a loaded question!  First of all, Jesus makes me rejoice the most! Knowing Jesus as my personal Savior is the very best thing that ever happened to me. He changed my life and gave me hope and so much JOY. Now every day is a new day, and I can REJOICE because I know that I am beloved, forgiven, and going to heaven someday to live with Jesus forever!   That is what makes me rejoice the most.  "Because He lives, I can face tomorrow"

This is a picture of me (from last year), which shows me feeling pretty joyful!

2. What song makes you feel joyful or happy?
Oh there are SO many. I could hand you a few old hymnbooks and we could go through and sing almost every one of them, and that would answer that question. Then there is Handel's Messiah, and the Hallelujah Chorus! and "How Great Thou Art", and one that we used to sing in Sunday School when we were little, "I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart! Down in my heart! Down in my heart! I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart! Down in my heart to stay!"   Oh, there are SO many songs! Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so, little ones to Him belong. They are weak but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so!"

3. Do sounds of nature give you a joyous feeling? Most definitely!! I love to hear the birds singing in the treetops...they are singing out their songs of praise and joy every day! They just sing their heart out, because they know that God is taking care of them.  I love to hear the geese honking in the morning, I love to hear the sounds of a gentle brook babbling over rocks, I love to the hear the pound of the ocean surf against the shore...and the powerful roar of a waterfall as it rushes over the cliff and plunges to the river below.  I love to hear the wind in the treetops, singing and sighing as they sway to and fro.  I especially love the sounds of rain on a tin roof and could sit out on our porch and listen to it all day long.

4. How about holidays? Do you really rejoice or just kind of show up? I absolutely enjoy the holidays most of all...the sights, the sounds, the laughter, the food, the family, the fellowship, the songs, the traditions, the unique festivities that go with each every one of them that make them special...The Christmas tree, the Easter Baskets and the empty Cross on Easter morning.  I love to wave our American flag on the 4th of July and all other patriotic holidays.  I relish every moment of our holidays and don't ever want to lose them. They are what makes our country unique and special...our customs and traditions and festivals and parades and decorations...May we never lose that joy and beauty here in our nation as well as in our personal homes and lives.

Thanks for joining in.  Oh, this was something I could write about all day.  And now I wanted to share one more thing that gives me joy...my new little friend Lily Grace! She is helping me to see life through the eyes of a little child again...every day is bright and new and cheerful when seen through her perspective.  I did not ask for her to be sent to me, but apparently God knew that I needed such a special blessing and whispered it into the ears of my dear blogging friend "Aunt Debbi" (as Lily calls her).  I love it when people actually follow through with the thoughts and ideas that seem to be inspired by a totally unfettered spirit of love and generosity with no thought of gaining praise or return.  That is how we should all be...just ready to listen and act when God shows us special things that He wants us to do. This has taught me already some valuable lessons.  And just yesterday Lily Grace was learning all about JOY! You can join in and follow her adventures here: https://adventuresoflilygrace.blogspot.com/2021/01/lily-grace-learns-about-joy.html

Now let us go see how others are rejoicing today!!  Thank  you Annie!

    1. Wow! I am overwhelmed with this, Stacy. And humbled. This truly blesses me to the point of tears...but tears of joy because my earnest prayer is to be able to share the joy of the Lord with my friends here. In the midst of this world's sorrows and frustrations, especially for people of conservative beliefs and faith, we need to try and focus on our faith in the Lord and the joy that brings to our hearts and lives. When we take our eyes off of Him, just like Peter walking on the water...we begin to sink. But when we stay focused on Christ, we can walk on that water right across the turbulence that is swirling all around us and not sink. He will keep us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on Him...and that is what my prayer is for each day...Keep my eyes on YOU, Lord, so that I can stay afloat in the midst of the storms of life. And I pray that this will be contagious so that others will hold on to that same hope and peace. Bless you, Stacy, for your sweet words today. They are like honey to my heart.

    1. Yes, I would hate to lose any of my senses, especially my sight...but to not be able to hear the birds singing would be very sad, along with all of the other glorious sounds of nature rejoicing to the Creator. Luke 19:40 "But He (Jesus) answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

  6. Yoou went all out in your answers and I love love them . I dont know, it seems like I was in a rush today, but when you answered Becasauae He lives, I was taken back to the grand old days when I visited my mother and we attended her sweet little church in the wildwood... Glenwood.. We sang that song so raptuously there! Everyone really loved it and got into it with hands lifted in high praise. I so miss those days!

    1. Yes, that is one of my all time favorite songs of praise. We still sing it at our little church occasionally. Of course, right now our singing has been limited because of "covid" rules and masks...but we are still singing praises to God in our hearts even when we can't sing out loud. Sometimes we need to get back to the 'grand old days' at the "sweet little church in the wildwood". The newer mega churches are ok for some, but they leave a lot to be desired in the overall interpersonal relationships and fellowship of faith among people who truly love the Lord and each other. We love our little church and thank the Lord He led us there every day. Thank you for visiting. I always love hearing from you. This little questionnaire today could have kept me going all day long...there is SO much to rejoice about when you know Jesus!

    1. Do you sing all the verses of that song? When we were little I remember singing one verse that said, "and if the devil doesn't like it he can sit on a tack". Did you ever sing that? Maybe that was when my kids were little, but I just always thought that was funny. Thank you for your kind words. This little meme today just made me want to REJOICE and shout my joy to the Lord and the world. We who love the Lord have SO much to rejoice about, even when times are tough. We know we have the "Victory in Jesus" that you wrote about...so why shouldn't we rejoice? We know how this story will end!! Praise God!! (((hugs)))

  8. I enjoyed your answers. We could be "soul" sisters with loving the old hymns the best. I feel the same way. My favorite old hymn, though, is Amazing Grace. Gives me chill bumps every time.

  10. Your post brought joy to my heart, Pamela! Yes, I love the sound of nature, and spend as much time as I can on our deck to listen to birds sing and watch the squirrels scampering through the yard. Our Father's creation never ceases to amaze me.

    1. Oh yes, Martha! God's creation is always a reason to rejoice...I loved your Major Tom the turkey story today! That was pretty cool! You could write another series on him! God is ever present in our world today, and there is so much to learn from His creation around us if we just pay attention! I love that you are able to see that as well, and share it with us! We are so blessed to be able to do this, aren't we? Praise God!

  13. Pam, what a joyful and hopeful post. Mindset is so important as we view our world. Choosing to see beauty in a snowfall is a gift; so much better than being angry or dismayed simply because it's snowing.

    1. Oh yes, Kim! I think the snow fall is so lovely, especially when the sun shines on it and it looks like diamonds sparkling! I know snow can be such a pain, having lived up north for many years, but not as many as you, and I did get so tired of it, but I loved it when it was fresh and new and fluffy and white. There is something so magical about it! I hope you can enjoy the snow and that you won't have to go out in it any oftener than absolutely necessary!! Blessings my friend!

  15. I also agree with Stacy's post. You probably don't remember me, especially since I don't have a blog and I rarely leave comments. But I can't tell you how many times your writings have helped me...Thank you Pamela..You truly are a light in the darkness.

    1. I do remember you, Linda. I keep thinking that I should actually know you, your name is so familiar, but then I think I guess it's because I've seen you here many times and I always appreciate your comments. Thank you for your very kind words. That means everything to me. That is why I am here writing day after day, because God wants me to keep on...He has things He wants to share with all of us, and I am just the vessel He is using at this moment in time. Thank you for being here. God bless you, Linda.
