Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Friday Foto Friends~ "Omnipresence"
A dear friend from church sent a copy of this poem to me one day. Why? Because she knew that this is exactly how I feel about God and His wonderful creation all around us. I will share it here with some pictures from my gallery, some recent and some not so recent, for this week's Friday Foto Friends.
"Omnipresence"
written by:
Anne Ortlund
"I walked the other day along a river
and watched the ducks and heard some hawklings' cries;
Then suddenly the nearness of my Saviour
Brought tears of joy and wonder to my eyes.
Oh, praise the Lord!
"This earth is crammed with heaven!"
Oh, praise the Lord!
And, Christian, look around!
For every bush you pass with fire is flaming,
And every spot you tread is holy ground.
I stopped the other day to watch a fountain
And marveled at the magic of its grace;
I wept the other day--oh, Christian, hear it!
I wept the other day without control,
But suddenly the blessed Holy Spirit
Spoke peace again and calmed my needy soul.
Oh, praise the Lord!
"This earth is crammed with heaven!"
Oh, praise the Lord!
And, Christian, look around!
For every bush you pass with fire is flaming,
and every spot you tread is holy ground."
Exodus 3:3-5 (NKJV)
3 Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
4 So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look,
God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”
And he said, “Here I am.”
5 Then He said, “Do not draw near this place.
Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”
I wonder, dear friends, if you have stood upon some "holy ground" this week? Think about the places you've been, the things you've seen, the music you've heard, the people you've met...perhaps you were also standing on "holy ground" and did not know it. Sometimes I feel like I need to take the sandals off my feet and just worship the Lord, in all of His beauty and majesty.
This is my offering for Friday Foto Friends for this week. Now let's walk over to Deb's Place at Breathing in Grace and visit with our other friends. Have a blessed and glorious week! By the way, I've been a bit behind in reading other's blogs lately. I'm trying to get caught up. I do enjoy every one of you and the sweet comments that you leave on my posts as well. Thank you for being such special friends.

Amazing post. I never thought of all the beauty we see as standing on Holy Ground. I will from now on. Living in the Smoky Mountains, we have quite our share of heaven. When I am trying to work and see the sun reflecting on the mountain range, my mind recalls the line from Robert Brownings Poem "Pippa Passes." It says: "God's in his heaven — All's right with the world."

ReplyDeleteBeautiful post and I enjoyed your thoughts and photos. The photo with the burst of light was fantastic and I always love a colored sunset.
ReplyDeleteTruly loved this poem, Pamela, and the photos matched perfectly with it. Yes, may we remember that we all stand on holy ground when we stop and notice the majesty of God's creation all around us.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
As always, I enjoyed your photos and the poem fits you. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautifully done post, Pam. Your pictures fit the words perfectly. With this "adjusting" to retirement there have been times this week that I have indeed felt as if I was on holy ground...and also with the passing of a dear friend and sitting with family in the funeral home and attending the funeral...such a godly woman this friend was and it was so easy to feel the Lord's presence in that place.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post of poem and photos. Loved it! Have a blessed day ahead dear Pamela.
ReplyDeleteOh my .. this is the absolute most amazing post I've ever read. What a precious friend you have and EVERY foto aligns perfectly with the lines in the poem. Wonderful! 💜
