Today was a bittersweet day as we paid a visit to my mother-in-law at the nursing home. I've shared already with you her current situation, and our dilemma...(click HERE for more about that if you missed the previous post) The decision has been made to go ahead and go on our trip, and we are just trusting and praying that "Nanny" will be fine until we get back. We know she is getting good care where she is, and we also know if God calls her "home" she will get the very BEST care ever.
This evening we took a little walk about the neighborhood and found some of our "neighbors" also out for an evening stroll:
Here's the first youngster wandering about seemingly alone...but look over at the edge of that tree on the far right...Yes, Mama is keeping a close watch on her baby...
Well, how de do! The whole family is out and about...left to right: Papa , baby one, baby two and Mama. Not sure where that other family is with the third fawn...you remember...the one who kept getting left behind? I hope he is somewhere safe...
Hmmm, I think that Papa is telling me to get lost!!!! (Have you ever heard what kind of noise the deer makes? I never can really hear them, but apparently the fawns and other deer know what they are saying.)
And so I end this little tale with a sweet picture of Papa and the curious fawn...hard to believe how fast they are growing...and I love how the parents, especially the Papa deer care for their young...much like our heavenly Father cares for us.
Here's a few verses to ponder as we prepare for our journey tomorrow...and as we face the unknown future concerning our mother-in-law and also my brother...as well as so many others who are also going through trials and tribulations and health crisis...
Those are really great pictures. I love deer-I just think they are such graceful and gentle animals. I do know they can cause damage to crops but it is still sad to see them hunted. Those 'babies' are adorable.
ReplyDeletePraying you have a safe trip and that Nanny is able to hold on until you are home again. It is so hard with aging parents, isn't it? xo Diana
I love that you can get such great photos of the deer family! I am praying for you to have safe travels, lots of fun, and that your dear mother-in-law will great you back in three-four days with a smile on her face. Love & hugs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely deer family! We had a baby fawn crying behind our house the other day. The mother wouldn't come up to it until it got dark, and the woven fence between our house and the where the mother was waiting stumped the fawn. We would have helped it, but didn't want to get human scent on it and risking the mother rejecting it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of nature and the deer family. Just lovely. I pray you have a safe and fun journey. I look forward to your pictures in future blog posts. I'm sorry about your MIL but I agree with your decision though I know it is very hard to leave. I will go back and read your post about her situation. All is in God's hands. Hugs. xx
ReplyDeleteOh, sweet Friend, I'm sorry about your MIL, but glad you've decided to go on the trip. It'll do you good to get away and enjoy your family. What a great peace to know that your precious mother in law knows Jesus! Prayers for safe travels and lots of love and laughter this weekend! 💜
ReplyDeleteHaving a deer family as neighbors is a gift. Beautiful photos. Enjoy your trip and I hope to see more photos from it soon.
ReplyDeleteI love the pic of the falls. That reminds me of the falls at en gedi in Israel. The deer photos are really lovely and I do think Papa Deer is scowling at you. Lol! I hope you are able to relax and enjoy the reunion knowing Nanny is in good hands ... our Father's hands and she will be fine.
