Because I felt like her behavior today was so atypical from how she has been for the past week, I looked up the following information and discovered that what we were observing was most likely what is being described in this article: https://www.agingcare.com/articles/when-loved-ones-rally-before-death-185452.htm Time will tell, but I guess I am preparing myself for the inevitable, and feel that it will be sooner than later. Thank you for your prayers for our family as we walk through the "valley of the shadow of death." We know that our Great Shepherd is with us, and He truly gives us His "rod and staff" to comfort us. (Psalm 23)
I know many of you are wondering about our big weekend trip that we just took. If you are a Facebook friend, you've already seen a few photos from our journey. I will try not to bombard you with too much at once, but will break it up into several different posts as I can. You can bet that my camera was kept in action all weekend long. My cousin even said to me, "You should have plenty of pictures for several weeks of Friday Foto Friends". I was surprised that she actually was paying attention to that...and that made me feel good to know. Thank you, cousin Becky!!!
For tonight I think I will just concentrate on some pretty scenery photos from our trip rather than family/people/or too many details. Eventually you'll get the full scoop...probably more than you even want to know!!

Photos are from our walk in the woods at my niece's home/property in North Carolina, as well as several photos from our journey to Toccoa Falls, Georgia.
I will be back in touch with you as I can this week. Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers. I am so thankful for such friends....
What a blessing it is to know where your mother-in-law is going and that she will be fine whenever her time of departure arrives. Like she’s waiting for a train.
ReplyDelete“He restores my soul...”
This verse means so much to me.
Blessings, Pamela.
Such beautiful photos, Pam! You and your family remain in my prayers. I'm so glad you took the trip and had such a wonderful time. I did follow you on FB but can't wait to see you pull it together for us here (when you can!). Love & hugs.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Pamela and lovely areas along with your adorable nieces. Still praying for you and your family my friend. Have a blessed beginning of August.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading and seeing your blog. The way you related each picture with the bible wordings inspired me lot. Have a nice day!
ReplyDeleteI have been enjoying your pictures on FB. The ice cream churning sure brought back lots of memories of my grandparents too. We would all take turns churning. Praying for your family as you all go through this journey with your MIL. Only God can hold us so very close. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are amazing, Pam! Just beautiful and I love that you used Psalm 23 as the words for each one. Your dear family are in my prayers as this time draws near a close for your mother-in-law. I saw it with my own mother last autumn. "Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death"...praying for you, sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed following you on your trip as you posted in facebook. Today's picture's here on the blog are gorgeous. God gave us so much to enjoy. Prayers for your MIL as she is preparing to go home. God be with her, you and all the family.
ReplyDeletePraying blessing and comfort for you and yours. Lovely photos. Thank you for the update.
ReplyDeletePost Script to my previous comment: thank you for sharing the link to the article, "When Loved Ones Rally Before Death." We had 2 deaths in our extended family last week (in-laws of nieces), so matters of this nature have been on my mind. This is a good article.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, Pamela! Yes, I will be praying for you and yours as the inevitable approaches. We both have so much on our plates at this time, don't we?
ReplyDeleteGlad you will be sharing more photos of your family trip/reunion in the weeks to come.
Blessings!
It's really nice that she has rallied like that for your sake as much as hers. I pray for your family to be at peace and know you are trusting God's perfect timing. I'm so glad you were able to relax and take that very fun trip. Beautiful pictures today that you shared with the psalm.
ReplyDeletePam: I love your picture of the waterfalls. It brings a refreshing to my soul. Thank you for sharing.
