Here is how it looked about an hour ago, when I first woke up. I wish my camera was a little better at taking moon shots, but this will do.
Psalm 89:37
"It shall be established forever like the moon,
Even like the faithful witness in the sky."
Genesis 1:14-15
14. "Then God said, 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night;
and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;
15. and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth'; and it was so."
There are a lot of verses about the moon in the Bible. Just Google "What does the Bible say about the Moon", and you will be amazed. Apparently God thought a lot about His creation of the moon. However, He warned his people not to worship the moon or the sun or the stars in Deuteronomy 4:19. In actuality, the sun and moon and stars are all there to worship Him, their Creator:
Psalm 148:1-6
1. "Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
Praise Him in the heights!
2. Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him all His hosts!
3. Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
4. Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
and you waters above the heavens!
5. Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For He commanded and they were created.
6. He also established them forever and ever;
He made a decree which shall not pass away."
So, when we look at the moon, let us praise the Lord for His creation, just as the moon itself is set in the heavens for His glory and not for its own honor.
Okay, switching gears...There was a very large white water lily on the pond the other day, or so it appeared...
But in reality it was this White Egret, just hopping around from lily pad to lily pad, apparently catching little minnows or frogs or bugs, or something tasty, because it stayed out there a long time.

Switching gears again: Mother's Day is coming. Here is one of my favorite pictures of my mother with my sister and me on Mother's Day, 2003.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about my mother in some way or another. Mother's Day in particular brings back those sweet memories.
So what are you doing for Mother's Day? I guess it will be a little different this year with the social distancing and with most churches still not meeting in person. We plan to have our Mother's Day "celebration" actually on Monday, as my daughter in law has to work all weekend and she is off on Monday. So the plan is to make lasagna here for supper...she will do the bulk of the cooking and I will help. The main thing is to be together with our family that is here locally. I will miss being with my extended family, but hope we can plan something in the not too distant future so we can all be together again.
Well, the morning is rapidly passing by and hubby is waiting for me to get finished here so we can go for our walk. I'll probably get some good pictures while walking, but they will have to wait for another day.
