Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Friday Foto Friends: Then Sings My Soul!
Hello Friday Foto Friends! I just woke up after a very restless night, and then remembered that it was Friday, and I didn't have anything ready to share with you. But the 2nd verse of the beloved hymn, "How Great Thou Art", has been buzzing through my head lately, and that just came back to me as perhaps an appropriate way to display some photos from my forays into the woods and hills, both recent and in the past. So here we go. Sing along with me...I'm sure you know the tune:
"When thro' the woods
and forest glades I wander,
and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down
from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook
and feel the gentle breeze;
Then sings my soul,
my Savior God, to Thee;
How Great Thou Art!
How Great Thou Art!
Then sings my soul,
my Savior God, to Thee;
How Great Thou Art,
How Great Thou Art!
Amen.
Deuteronomy 33:26 (NKJV)
26 “There is no one like the God of Jeshurun,
Who rides the heavens to help you,
And in His excellency on the clouds.
I hope you've enjoyed singing along with me this morning. These pictures are from all around my home in Florida, thus, there are no "lofty mountains grandeur" or any real "brooks" to hear babbling...but God's glory shines through these beautiful places just the same. Have a blessed and glorious day, my friends.
Now please skip on over to visit our other Friday Foto Friends at Deb's place, Breaking In Grace, and see what others are sharing today!

I have indeed enjoyed singing along with you. Your pictures are beautiful, Pam!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dianna! I thought I heard some harmony filtering through the breeze!
DeleteOh, my mercy....one of my very favorite songs and what awesome fotos to go along with the stanzas...made my heart fill to the brim, my Friend. Thank you so much...I needed this today. HOPE you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie! So happy you could "sing along with me". Isn't that a wonderful way to start our day? If we could only do that every day, what a difference that would make! Have a blessed and beautiful weekend!
DeleteYes, I sang right along and enjoyed your pictures while doing so. Hope you have a grand weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking we had quite a chorus here with everyone singing along! All in perfect harmony! "How Great Thou Art!" I pray your weekend is blessed and good in every way.
DeleteBeautiful is God's beauty everywhere, if we would just slow down and be quiet to listen to Him! Thanks Pamela. I repeat Psalm 4:8 each night when I go to bed.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes...His beauty IS everywhere...no matter where we live, if we just open our eyes, and yes, slow down and be quiet and listen to Him! I am going to repeat that Psalm tonight so hopefully I will sleep better than I did last night!
DeleteSometimes pictures will leave you breathless! Your pictures today truly shows the Glory of God. Yes, He is Great.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary. I am glad the pictures reflect God's glory. That is what I felt when standing in these places. Yes, our God IS great!!
DeletePam: Thank you, I needed to sing a praise song today. I have tried to correct errors on that manuscript and the systems wouldn't cooperate with me. This was the second day in a row for this frustration.My format lady finally realized she didn't send the CORRECTED PDF. I should be able to okay it tomorrow, I am leaving one of the errors I just found this morning as a humanity line. This stems from the idea of quilters leaving one mistake in one square of a quilt. They called it their humanity square. Peace and Blessings.
ReplyDeleteOh, Cecelia, so frustrating I know. I am glad the problem has been resolved. I like the idea of the "humanity line." You are brave to do that. I don't know that I am "human enough" or humble enough, although I know I make lots of mistakes, often ones that I don't catch until it is too late and I've hit "publish" or "post". I need to remember about this... Peace and blessings to you today as well.
DeleteI do believe that second stanza appears in one of The Glade Series novels, Pamela - Grey/Racer sings it! Maybe that's why it's been going around in your head as of late. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiring lyrics, Scripture and photos!
Blessings!
Ha, Martha...I'm sure it must...and I know that is why I've been singing that line...I was going to include that in one of my reviews because that is how I have felt throughout your books. I must say, The Glade Series has definitely made me look at all of creation around me differently. I find myself talking to the animals a lot more than before...and that's a LOT! LOL. It's all wonderful, and I can't thank you enough for introducing me to Racer and all the crew!!
DeleteSo pretty. It all fits so beautifully too.
ReplyDeleteI am especially fond of Mr. Cardinal peeking through the trees.
Its hot here, hope you are cooler there today.
I'm glad you enjoyed this, especially Mr. Cardinal. I almost didn't include him because I thought I must have a better picture of a bird in the trees somewhere...but that one just seemed to speak to me...it was more about hearing the bird singing sweetly in the trees rather than seeing him. Thank you for your thoughts. Yes, it is still hot here in Florida...will be until late September or early October. But we occasionally feel a cooler breeze and not quite so much humidity, and I always rejoice when that happens!! Have a blessed and glorious weekend, and try to stay cool.
DeleteBeautiful song, beautiful photos and beautiful scriptures! I hear my mama singing that sing. She loved it so.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nonnie. Yes, it is one of those all time favorite hymns, for good reason!
DeleteBeautiful pictures and beautiful song!!
ReplyDeleteThank you you Cathy. Blessings to you today.
DeleteA great song and your photos so beautifully illustrate it
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol. I appreciate your visit here today! Have a blessed day!
DeleteGorgeous photos and I would love sitting on that swing reading a book if I was by myself or sitting with you chatting and singing. Have a great day today and I found you through Friday Foto Friends!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting with me today, Glenda! It is always a pleasure to meet new friends! Yes, I love to sit and read and just watch the birds and nature at its finest. A little too muggy and buggy right now here in Florida, but soon I will be back out there as often as I can!! I am happy you sang along with our "chorus" here today. Please come back and visit again soon!!
DeleteBeautiful photos as usual and I'll be singing "How Great Thou Art" all day. You truly blessed my day dear friend.
ReplyDeleteOh Toni, you bless MY day so often, with your lovely poems and pictures and memories. Thank you for being a special friend!
DeletePam, I may be a day late, however, I enjoyed singing along with you while I viewed your photos of God's amazing creation.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Never too late to sing along and rejoice with me as we share the beauty of God's creation all around us. I hope you are having a peaceful, cool weekend. Thank you for joining in the song today! God bless you, my sweet Iowa friend!!!
DeleteOne of my top favorite hymns illustrated beautifully by your photos. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Terri! Yes, it will always be one of my favorites as well. I love all the verses, but this one seemed appropriate for today. Thank you for joining in the song! You are on the countdown now to your happy retirement day. And then maybe you WILL be singing some songs!!!
DeleteGorgeous photos and such inspiring words form God's Words... thanks for sharing.. I love your theme at the home page... I am so pleased to have about 10 dedicated intercessors joining along beside me and my husband and our first meeting will be Aug.10.
