So now on to our own "wanderings". Yesterday we had to go pick up a prescription at our Doctor's office, which also has a pharmacy in the same building. I believe I have told you before that the highway that goes through our town is in the process of being 4-laned. Thankfully they've already completed the east side of town where we live, and now they are doing the west side of town where our church is and where our Doctor's office is, and every day there is something different with the traffic pattern and progress being made.
Anyway, when we got to the place where the driveway was supposed to be to enter the clinic, there was no way to get across from the lane where we were directly into that driveway. So we missed it and had to go down and turn around and I had to call the pharmacy to ask them where we were supposed to enter because it wasn't very obvious from the road.
With all the heavy road equipment moving about, it was rather confusing. But anyway, they told us where to go and how to find the right way to enter, and we finally made it in. Probably next time we go it will be totally different again. Anyway, hubby had to have his temperature taken before he could enter the building, and thankfully after all the crazy detours to get there his temperature hadn't risen, so he was allowed entrance! LOL.
I already showed you this lovely picture of the morning glories HERE yesterday, but what I didn't tell you is that where these flowers were located was right alongside that busy highway, with all the construction going on, and I risked life and limb to go and take that picture. Thankfully, my hubby found a safe place to park the car so I could get out and take the picture, because morning glories only last so long...hence they are "Morning Glories", and also, once the construction is done, they will probably be gone altogether. But these were so "glorious" I could not resist taking their picture.
Kind of looks like the "Grinch":
So, today we are going to go take a walk in a few minutes, after we do our morning devotions and have breakfast (muffins!!), and then when we come back one of my church friends is going to come over for a little visit, sitting outside in the shade in view of the pond, properly socially distanced. I am looking forward to just chatting with a real person in person! Praying it won't be long until we can actually give each other a hug in person too...but not just yet...I feel like this virus was a "Grinch" who stole all our hugs!
In closing, I'm looking ahead at our morning devotions, and some of the verses for today are from
John 6:35-40. Let me share them with you, because they are good for this day and what I just said:
Seems like road construction is definitely considered an essential job as we have lots of it going on in our neck of the woods, too, Pamela. Thanks for all the photos, and of course, the inspiring scripture.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Yes, the construction work goes on and on. They do not stop for pandemics. They have a deadline to meet, and besides, they are out there in the wide open in their big trucks...I don't think they are in any danger there. Probably safer than at home! Thank you for visiting. Hope your day is blessed as well.
DeleteLovely post, as always, Pam.
ReplyDeleteThe Morning Glories: I had some growing at a previous house we had in Colorado. They climbed up a white plastic lattice that enclosed the storage area underneath our deck. Maybe you'd like to find a place to plant some at your home.
Enjoy your visit with your friend today!
Thank you, Barbara! I may have to see if I can grab some of those by the road before they are destroyed by the construction. They really are so vividly purple and beautiful. And I love to see them in the morning!! Thank you for visiting!! Wish you could come too. One of these days!!
DeleteGet some seeds! As for road construction, you should see I-4! What a change and it just keeps changing! They are faster now that the traffic is so light! Strange! I hope you had a good walk--I need to get out in my garden for awhile before it's too hot!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how anyone manages to drive I-4 every day. Every time we've had to go there I am so thankful that we don't live anywhere near there. I'd be crazier than I am already. Morning Glory Seeds? Sounds like a good idea! Why didn't I think of that? I may just do that. I hope you are enjoying your garden. We've surely had some pretty days to be outside lately!!! They won't be around much longer, so I'm glad you are off during this time to enjoy them!
DeleteYou can't go anywhere in Harris Country and not have road construction somewhere along the way. I was thinking the face in the tree looked like a dinosaur, after seeing the grinch, it's definitely a grinch. :) I would love to come visit and have a muffin, they sound and look yummy.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can imagine where you live must be very busy with construction. I am a small town girl and really can't deal with a lot of road stress, so we are glad this will be over soon. I also thought this tree looked like a dinosaur at first until this morning when I posted it and I suddenly saw it as "The Grinch". I'm not going to let this Grinch steal my joy!! We have to keep moving forward with joy and peace. Please come have a muffin with me. I would so love that!!! I'd even make you a cup of coffee since I think you like that better than tea!! LOL.
DeleteThose morning glories are beautiful! Your picture reminds me of summers at my Grandmother's farm where they grew wild along the fence rows.
ReplyDeleteOh, I would have loved to see the summers at your Grandmother's farm. I bet it was beautiful there. Being on a grandmother's farm sounds so wonderful to me...I would love to go there now... Thank you for visiting. Have a blessed day.
DeleteThe blue of those morning glories is so pretty! I love watching the sandhill cranes. We have a pair that roams around our community. It just gets scary when they get so close to the road. Speaking of roads... that is quite a project going on there and it is maddening when you can't get where you need to go. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteThe morning glories were so bright and beautiful, I just couldn't resist getting their picture. Glad was in a cooperative mood! LOL. Yes, it is quite a road project for our little town, but it will be nice when it is done, all the way from Palatka to Gainesville! Sure beats living in Salt Springs away from everything...although it was quiet and peaceful there...
DeleteOh if only I could join you for tea and muffins. That would be so great. Sometimes we need to get the hugs in a different way. I received a note from one of my church friends today, and it felt like a hug and a blessing.
ReplyDeleteJust let me know when you are coming and I'll put the tea kettle on and bake some muffins. How nice to hear from a friend today...that is a great hug/blessing! I had a nice visit with my friend too. We sat outside, 6 feet apart, and talked straight for 2 hours without stopping! I think we were both starved for real conversations!! Take care and stay well. It won't be long til we'll be all back to some kind of "normal".
DeleteThe muffins sound delicious. I do like muffins of all kinds :-) I'm sorry the Canada geese didn't stick around as it would have been lovely to see some goslings. I do love morning glories too. I'm not sure if they come in different colours but I love the blue ones you are shared. On my first trip to Kenya I took photos of a red flower that looks like morning glories but I think they might be something else. Have an awesome weekend and enjoy your visit with your friend. xx
ReplyDeleteI know I am disappointed about the geese. But maybe next year. At least now they know we are a safe and friendly place to be. Morning Glories are such a lovely flower, but they only last a few hours and then they fold up their petals and shrink away, and new ones open the next day. They don't last long, but they really blossom out gloriously while they can. Maybe there is a lesson there for us too! Praying your week is beautiful and glorious too!
DeleteGod does not make mistakes, isn't that comforting? This whole pandemic should be a time for getting our spiritual lives in order, for drawing nearer to Him, getting oil in our lamps, making ourselves ready. For me, it's been a hug opportunity to get victory over anxiety! I am very thankful that all of our trials are weighed and measured, and never more than we can endure. Your pictures are beautiful, except for the construction...I do not like traffic either, we live in rural central NY state, but have visited many cities...I'm always glad to come home to two lane highways ha. Take care, and have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteDella
Hi Della, and welcome to my world! I just went over and got acquainted with you on your blog, and I am in awe! Talk about "super woman"! You have to be! But I am glad to see that you have God has your helper...where would any of us be without Him by our sides? Regarding the construction, thankfully this project here is small compared to what people have to deal with in the big cities. We are not big city people and stay away from them as much as possible. That is why we have chosen to live in a small town. Hopefully they will never see the need to add anymore lanes to this highway! Praying for you and your family...may the Lord bless you all and keep you all safe during these trying times. Thank you again for visiting! Please come again!
DeleteRoad construction is a season here in Indiana. One summer, we had to make two detours to get around the work being done. On our way home one night, we had to go west in order to go east. Actually, we had to go west and then north to head back east on a different road than we intended. Had to do this a few times that summer.
ReplyDeleteNever much fun while under construction, but always glad to see it when it is complete and the roads are much better than before (hopefully)!
DeleteAhh...serene...
ReplyDelete"...of all He has given Me I should lose nothing,
but should raise it up at the last day."
Amen.
😊 Thanks for the muffin.
You are most welcome!! Yes...Praise God, that we will not be "lost" to Jesus.
