Some of my blogging friends do a Wednesday Hodgepodge, and some also do a "Whimsical Wednesday", which usually displays a lovely evening or wedding gown with choices of shoes to match for you to decide...and I love all of the above reading and entertaining posts for the middle of the week. Not to detract or distract from these wonderful posts, but I thought I would do my own version of all of the above, and have a "Wacky Wednesday", for today only (maybe).
Our friend Debbie from "Breathing in Grace" is currently somewhat inactive on her blog, but she stays pretty active on her Facebook Page "Breathing In His Grace, Breathing Out His Praise", and today she posted something pretty funny. See the lovely ladies below:
Now, I just love this picture...as a matter of fact, I loved it so much that I wanted to join in the fun. I hope this will inspire you to consider the same idea and share your new "Easter Dress" for online church this year. I think in light of the fact that we are all having to sacrifice being able to attend church services on Easter (and the rest of the month), it's quite all right to have a little fun with this. We could all use a few good laughs, don't you think?
Little did I know when I was preparing for my hospital visit last month (one month ago tomorrow! Wow!), that the lovely aqua blue duster with the pretty pink roses on it would actually become my new Easter dress!
Just needed to add an Easter bonnet and my lovely white gloves...
Oh, and my matching socks, and I am all ready for our Easter Sunday online service!!
So how about you? I hope you will be bold and daring enough to share your Easter outfit for this year. Let's have a little fun in the midst of the craziness of this current situation.
Meanwhile, of course we are not forgetting the true meaning of Easter, and that it is the very foundation of our faith. What Jesus did for us on Calvary, when He sacrificed His very life so that we might be set free from our sins and have eternal life forever with Him in heaven...well, that is the most amazing and wonderful gift we could ever receive. Regardless of where we are, Easter is a time for celebration. As Christians, we celebrate the resurrected life every day we live. The whole idea of having a new "Easter dress" originated from this celebration of new life...all things new, because in Christ we are a new creation:
What a fun idea!! You look so stylish in your Easter robe.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary...I do hope you will join the Easter dress parade with me!! Blessings...
DeleteHi Pam! Yes, I believe!!! Love your Easter outfit. I have 2 of these dusters I bought and used a lot when I was sick a few years back. They are still hanging in my closet and look almost new. Maybe I'll work up the nerve to post. lol Totally loving this post!
ReplyDeleteOh, so thankful we can answer "yes", aren't you? Well, I sure do hope you will pick out your best "Easter Dress" for the occasion and model it for us. We all need to do something just a little fun and crazy now and then. It's good for our soul and our endorphins. Have a blessed day dear friend.
DeleteLove your front porch view, Pamela, and your Easter outfit is so lovely too!
ReplyDeleteYou look marvelous!
Thank you for sharing the scripture verses and thoughts always so encouraging.
Blessings,
Sue
Thank you, Sue! I do hope you will join me in the Easter Dress parade!! It could be such fun. We need to do something fun and wacky now and then. Thank you for visiting and being an encouraging friend too!!
DeleteLove your outfit, giggling...and I will not be sharing my pj's with you or anyone else, LOLOL.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day, friend. Keeping you in prayer.
Oh come on, Linda, be a sport!! You've got nothing else to do!! Think of it as a pajama party or an Easter parade. We all need to loosen up and laugh a bit these days. I am sure you can come up with something if you dare!! Have a beautiful day too, my friend. And you and yours are in my prayers as well.
DeleteYou laugh, but that blue pattern with the bright pink flowers is GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteI am going to wear my festive sweatpants and comfy socks. I may even spruce it up a bit with a brightly colored scrunchy to hold my hair up! Ha ha... really, church should be come as you are.
Thank you for entering into the spirit of this "Easter parade". Your outfit sounds like it will be delightful...I do hope you wear more than just your sweatpants, socks and scrunchy, however...LOL. When your outfit is COMPLETE, please post a picture on your blog!! LOL. Have a blessed day!!
DeleteThat's pretty cute alright! And of course you just HAD to have a hat AND gloves, oh and matching socks! I love it! I don't think I could top that! lol I posted myself in PJs one time though. I'll have to look for that photo! Have a good day my friend. Thanks for the smiles!
ReplyDeleteI think we need a laugh right now!! Hope you can find your picture...or else have a new one taken!! It's all in the spirit of encouraging one another, right? Have a great day.
DeleteWe are well and safely protect in our home. So thankful for that.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Easter dresses for on-line church this year!!! Made me LOL!
Thank you, Barbara. I hope you will share YOUR "Online Easter Dress" whenever you decide what to wear. We just need to loosen up and have some fun. Glad to hear you are doing well in your home. Let us continue to pray for one another every day! Blessings to you both.
DeleteThank you so much for your uplifting post. Yes, I believe, Praise God!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to go look in my closet-I used to have an "Easter Dress" like that, but haven't worn it in a long time!
Oh I do hope you will find your "Easter Dress" and show us!! And, praise God, "Yes I believe!!" Thank you for visiting here today. God bless you!!
DeleteAwwwww, Pamela, you are just so creative! I have seen several memes of possible Easter dresses similar to this, and not one other has mention of the Easter bonnet. So, my hat's off to you! (like the pun?) Now I have to rummage through my closet to see what I can come up with. I don't have any gowns, only pj's and (little skimpy ones, no longer needed!!) I'll get back to you. Lol!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the thoughts and Scripture about Resurrection Day.
You may have to improvise your "Easter Outfit" to make it appropriate for our audience. LOL. Even an Easter Bonnet would be sufficient...(a hair net or scarf around curlers like we used to do in the olden days? LOL) Thank you for visiting and for joining in the fun as well as the joy of knowing Jesus...we are blessed to be His children!
DeleteI am thankful that my relationship with Jesus is good. No, I'm far from where I should be, but I know that I am His and He is mine.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Ruth. That is the most important part, knowing that "I am His, and He is mine." There can be no more important or better relationship than that. God bless you!!!
DeleteGirl, you are too funny! And you look SO much better than those other ladies! It must be those white gloves that set you apart...LOL! What a fun and uplifting post, Pamela!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debby. You are so kind. Yes, the gloves did the trick. I believe those belonged to my mother, and they are in perfect condition. I wish we did still wear gloves sometimes...well, maybe not, but it was fun. Glad you could join us. Now, let's see YOUR "new Easter Dress"!!!
DeleteI laughed when I saw that picture of the women in their dusters! Yours is quite pretty, by the way! I was talking with one of our community group members the other day and mentioned that a bunch of us should show up at church in our PJs once we are allowed to attend again! We have to keep some humor going!!
ReplyDeleteOh that would be so funny, Terri...show up in your pj's...I mean after all...that has become the acceptable attire for church, at least for now! Yes, I love the humor...and we need all we can get these days!! Thank you for visiting. I hope to see you in YOUR Easter outfit!!
DeleteWell I certainly have a duster to go with yours. I grew up with a long tradition of ladies who wore them. You look absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you, Sandy. I hope you will model your "Easter outfit" for us. In you long tradition of having dusters, you must have a vintage one somewhere that would be just the thing!!! I think it would be fun for everyone to do this...Have a wonderful week, and stay healthy and safe!
DeleteLove your Easter outfit. Complete with matching socks! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you...yes, the socks were purely by accident...I hadn't intended for my feet to show in the picture, but when I saw that they did, I was pleased to see they were color coordinated! LOL. It was just meant to be! Have a blessed day, and I pray you and yours are safe and healthy. Praying for your hubby.
DeleteThanks so much for the laughter today, Pamela! Yes, you look so cute in your modified Easter dress. :) I'm afraid all I have are pjs and a pink bathrobe. Will that do?
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you, my friend!
Well of course it will do. Maybe you could add an Easter Bonnet? I'll bet we all have hats sitting around that we never wear... Maybe add a pearl necklace or something vintage...Just a fun idea! Have some fun playing "dress up".
DeleteI dont have a duster to show but did enjoy the picture of all the ladies but especially the one of you in yours. I agree that we need humor more than ever these days.
ReplyDeleteYes, we all could use a little humor to keep us from going stir crazy!! How about an Easter Bonnet? Maybe that's what we should do!!
DeleteLove it. You make me smile
