Friday Foto Friends~A Surprise, and an Answer to Prayer!

Here it is Friday, and I have come up short in the "foto" department!  I guess I already used them all up in previous posts and things haven't been too exciting around here this week with hubby sick and it being too hot anyway to go anywhere or do anything.  Good news...hubby finally went to the Dr. this morning to be tested, and praise God! The test was negative.  However, they didn't have any open appointments for further evaluation today, but basically he's doing all they can do anyway...taking mucinex and tylenol and vitamin C.  Hopefully he will start feeling better before Sunday, or we'll have to miss church. But at least it's not the bad "C" word. Praise God!

So, I started out this post a few minutes ago with no new pictures to share, but I was hopeful that something would develop before I had to call it quits for today...and you will never guess what is going on outside my "Room With A View" window...

Yes, more bluebirds!!  I say "more", because I believe this is a totally different couple than the last one...

And they seem to be interested in the other house that is still for rent...

If you look at the top of the pole, that is Mr. Bluebird checking things out and looking down the chimney.

And he's checking out the roof to make sure it is sturdy and leak free.

And Mrs. Bluebird is inside inspecting the facilities to make sure they are clean and adequate. This is the house that we had to do some repairs to after the last tenants lived there. The door kept falling open (or was being pulled open by something), so we had to duct tape it shut.

Mrs. Bluebird seems to think everything is just fine and she's letting Mr. Bluebird know that she's ready to take up housekeeping in this house.

Meanwhile, I thought since the housing market seems to be getting "hot" again, I'd better go clean out the other birdhouse that was just vacated on Sunday...

And look what I found inside the nest!  Another egg!!! Oh my! What to do?  Well, since the Bluebird family had moved out I assumed this was not a viable egg...it never hatched, and so the family just left it behind. That made me kind of sad, but I guess it isn't that uncommon.

So I just removed the nest and the egg from the birdhouse and laid it down on the ground in the garden as a kind of temporary memorial for the baby bird that did not get to be born and live. I don't know how long it will last there, but it just seemed like a fitting place to put it.

And then, while I was writing this, we turned on the TV and here's the news we just saw:

I cannot begin to tell you how thankful I am for this decision to overturn Roe v. Wade after so many years of our country allowing women to destroy their own babies in the womb, and even outside of the womb.  I realize that overturning this ruling will possibly create even more turmoil as it is reverted back to the states, but for now we can rejoice in knowing that finally our Supreme Court has done the right thing to save the lives of millions of unborn babies.  It can never bring back all the children who have so sadly been lost to such a horrific death, but hopefully now women will face the reality of what abortion truly means...the killing of an innocent life...and perhaps now they will consider other more appropriate alternatives such as adoption rather than destruction.
Praise God for this answer to so many prayers over the past fifty years.
I am so thankful that I lived to see this day.
Thank You, Jesus.

And now it is pouring down rain...much needed rain! Thank You again, dear Lord! Amen.

  1. Love the photo with the bird looking out the bird house, all pics are beautiful! I'm happy to know that the ruling to overturn Roe vs Wade went favorably as well. We have something here not just through the church I attend but others who want to reach out called Save One and it actively provides a safe place for ladies to talk and find healing emotionally that have gone through abortions and regret it. They also help young mothers who are pregnant or have babies with diapers, equipment for babies, support and love on many levels. Thanks for your post

    1. I love what your community is doing with the "Save One" program. That is something that we will be needing a lot more of now with this decision...hopefully more women will be looking for appropriate assistance with their pregnancies, babies, etc. May the people of God stand strong and united and help those in need.

    1. Yes, it is a day to celebrate for sure! God is good. Lives will be saved. And yes, it will be fun to watch another bluebird family busily taking care of their "family". Never a dull moment here, and I am so glad. I was feeling king of lonely!

  5. I've been rejoicing ever since the Court's decision was announced; thankful that wise, clear minds have prevailed! That's sure an endearing gesture, putting the bluebird's egg there among God's creations.
So sorry I was too exhausted last night to write, but I loved yesterday's images -- particularly the Three Kings! I think I was hoping that apparation on Still Waters Pond was a benevolent spirit come to reassure you, all was well. How well I know, when someone is absent things always seem to look different after dark. Please stay wel!

    1. It is truly a day for rejoicing. Now may the people of God stand united and do everything we can to help those in need of support through their pregnancies, etc. and beyond. As far as the "benevolent spirit", I have come to think of the tree as a kind of guardian for us and our island...just a pleasant reminder that God is always with us, no matter what. Thank you for your kind thoughts!

  6. Love the "new tenants" and looking forward to the new neighbors. I think the place you put the egg is spot on. I am rejoicing with everyone on the overturn of Roe vs Wade. Thank you for stopping by my place. I sent you a message on FB. I do have somebody to help me. I live on *my guy friend* property, in my travel trailer, he will be helping me until I can be by myself. I can't really blog about us yet (looooong story) but I am truly happy, and thought that would never happen after loosing Gator. I hope you have a blessed weekend and Thank you Lord that hubby test came back negative

  7. I especially love bluebirds and am so happy you are providing homes for two families. I always think of the bluebird of happiness when I see a photo of a bluebird. One word of advice, my friend got tested for Covid twice, once at a clinic and both tests were negative. The third test was positive, but she had already infected the friend who drove her to urgent care, since she believed the negative test results. So maybe hubby could get another test, just to be sure.

    1. Thank you for your kind words and words of advice. We are confident in the test results that were done at our Dr.'s office. My husband has a bronchial infection, but it is not covid. And I am fine. And we have stayed at home this week, away from people, just in case, which is a wise thing to do even with a cold or bronchitis. Thankfully he is getting better. He is prone to this kind of infection ever since he was a little boy...long before covid ever existed.

  8. Glad you were able to enjoy an early walk today. We missed ours. Hubby hasn't been well this week, so we have missed our walks, plus it's been too hot. Oh, I am no "expert" on wildflowers. I use the Google lens on my cell phone a LOT! And then look them up on different sites on the internet to compare pictures, etc. to be sure, but even then I am not always positive about the ID. But I do enjoy looking at them and trying to figure them out. It makes the walking more interesting to discover new things!
