Tonight's sunset...October 30, 2023. What a lovely way to end a wonderful day.
1
Psalm 66:16-20
16 Come and hear, all you who fear God,
And I will declare what He has done for my soul.
17 I cried to Him with my mouth,
And He was extolled with my tongue.
18 If I regard iniquity in my heart,
19 But certainly God has heard me;
He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Blessed be God,
Who has not turned away my prayer,
Nor His mercy from me!
Amen.
And a beautiful thought of peace and comfort for today...
It's been a wonderful day...we got good news today at the Dr.'s office and it seems as though the Lord has answered our prayers and has brought healing for my hubby. We are extremely thankful and grateful, to our friends both far and near who have prayed, and to the Lord, because He has heard and answered our prayers. It's been a long several weeks of recuperation and staying out of "action", but thankfully the waiting has paid off and hopefully things will begin to return to "normal" again, a little at a time. We don't want to jump right back into the "fray" too quickly...but it will be good to get back to doing the things we enjoy doing with family and friends and especially our church.
We've had some good company during this time...the Sand Hill Crane family has paid us many visits...
(there's always that one who likes to linger in the water)
And the Canada Geese have been flying in and out frequently, with a "honk honk here" and a "honk honk there..."
I don't know if you can see them all in this picture below, but this was a large flock for sure:
And I was happy to see Mr. Great Blue Heron out there again. We haven't seen much of him lately, so I hope he's going to be making a more regular appearance these days.
Tomorrow is Halloween, and we look forward to the children coming to our neighborhood for Trick or Treat. It is one way we can be friendly and neighborly and let the children (and their parents) know that we care about their kids. I love to see their cute costumes and their happy faces as they come to the door for the candy. Our world is getting so sad and scary and there just aren't very many safe and happy ways to do things in our communities anymore. I'm glad that there are churches who also provide a happy time for the kids with a "Trunk or Treat" event in a safe environment. I think if we can capitalize on the fun aspect of this "holiday" rather than just dismiss it as something bad, we can use this opportunity for a positive way to reach out to the children of our communities. That's my thoughts on it, for what it's worth.
Well, it's getting late...it's been a long day, but a very good day, so I will say good night and thank you for being special friends. Thank you for so many wonderful comments over the past few posts. I haven't been able to get around to answering everyone like I would like to, but I do appreciate your comments and friendship so much. God bless you all, and good night!
That really is wonderful news Pamela! I've been checking your blog every day hoping for good news and I'm so happy for this good report! I'm still praying and I know God will bless you. Try to take it easy. Lots of hugs for you both, Diane
ReplyDeleteI do love the trunk or treat events, Pamela, and have great memories of taking my grandchildren to those my church offered. We don't do that tradition here at the house as our driveway is steep and uneven due to tree root interruptions. With the pumpkin patch, however, I'm delighting in seeing so many children in their Halloween finery. What joy the little children bring to our hearts!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to FaceTime with the crew tomorrow to see their Halloween costumes.
Blessings!
Hello Pam! Thank you for the beautiful sunset photos and scripture. Our skies were cloudy and not much of a sunset so I really enjoyed your photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat news from the doctors visit. God is so good and He loves us to ask Him about the tihings that are important to us.
I always enjoy seeing the Sand Hill Crane family visit you. It's wonderful how they all stay together. I do miss the Canadian geese that used to visit the lake where we camped in Washington. They would stop on the lake for the night and fly off in the morning. Once in awhile I catch a flock flying over here, but nothing like up in the northwest and I miss their honking.
Take care my friend. I hope you have a wonderful night of sleep and a great day tomorrow.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Glad to hear your hubby is on the mend.
ReplyDelete"there's always that one who likes to linger in the water"
Isn't it interesting how they have different personalities?
I'm so happy for the good news you got and the answers to prayer.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are beautiful and peaceful. I love the cranes and the herons.
I have one bag of candy here, just in case. But we usually don't get trick or treaters out here in the country... Have fun tonight!
These photos look like Heaven and earth are rejoicing right along with you! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
ReplyDeleteWe don't get many little children anymore. We tend to get the older ones who are rude and not with their parents so we won't be partaking tonight which does pose some risks but I just don't enjoy the foul language they bring to my front door as well as their semi x-rated costumes. Plus they're coming till 10, 11 at night. Its not fun here anymore.
ReplyDeleteDoggone it I wasn't done and sent my last comment on its way.
ReplyDeleteANYWHO, Praises be to the God, our Healer, the GREAT Physician to have healed your husband. Medical scares are bad but those who trust in God, weather through it knowing that He is in complete control. I'm happy for you both. Now have some fun!!
The sky photos are stunning. I always enjoy seeing the wild life who visit you. I'm happy to hear about the good news from the doctor. Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteLove you friend.
