Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!
What Do You See Outside YOUR Open Window Today?
Remember: "When God closes a door, He always opens a window!" You never know what might be out there waiting for you!

Tuesday 4~ Day Dreams
Day Dreams
Hey.. you're back! It's nice to see you again and you are so very welcome here at Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
While Miss Kitty dreams by the fireside, let's do some November Day Dreaming of our own.
1. Of all the places you have been is there any place besides where you are now that you would like to live?
Well, with the exception of having to drive over mountainous, curvy, scary roads, I wouldn't mind living in the mountains of North Georgia, especially in the spring through fall months. Not too sure about winter there...icy hilly roads can be treacherous. So actually, I think I'd prefer to stay here in Florida and just visit the mountains when I can!
2. If you could dream a place into existence, what would you be dreaming it is like for you?
Something like this would be nice. Except I would hope there would be a nice porch on the other side overlooking the lake as well!
Not sure about that fire on the porch...I'd rather it be in the yard, but you get the idea.
3. Do you daydream often? What thoughts are usually in those dreams?
Happy thoughts of family all being together at a place similar to above, where everyone is just enjoying being together, laughing, eating, playing games, taking walks, long talks, sitting around the campfire, roasting marshmallows and making s'mores...very similar to what we just did on our vacation, but with our whole family there.
I know you've seen these pictures before, but this is the kind of place I daydream about...
4. What song or kind of music is perfect for day dreaming?
Hmmm, I don't know...maybe some nice soft country dulcimer music playing in the background...
This is just an idea...
So those are my daydreams...but I am content with where I am and am thankful to have a beautiful place right here on Still Waters Pond. If I could transport this to someplace a little cooler in the summer, it would be perfect! LOL.
I took these pictures last night at sunset. And this song, "Day is Dying in the West" came to my mind as I was watching the "day dying in the west". It was such a beautiful time...
1 Day is dying in the west;
Heav'n is touching earth with rest;
Wait and worship while the night
Sets her evening lamps alight
Through all the sky.
Refrain:
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts!
Heav'n and earth are full of Thee;
Heav'en and earth are praising Thee,
O Lord most high!
2 Lord of life, beneath the dome
Of the universe, Thy home,
Gather us who seek Thy face
To the fold of Thy embrace,
For Thou art nigh. [Refrain]
3 While the deep'ning shadows fall,
Heart of Love, enfolding all,
Through the glory and the grace
Of the stars that veil Thy face,
Our hearts ascend. [Refrain]
4 When forever from our sight
Pass the stars, the day, the night,
Lord of angels, on our eyes
Let eternal morning rise,
And shadows end. [Refrain]
Refrain:
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts!
Heav'n and earth are full of Thee;
Heav'en and earth are praising Thee,
O Lord most high!
So there you have today's Tuesday 4. Now we are off to an important eye doctor appointment for my hubby. He's has issues with the cornea in one eye, and it may require surgery, so prayers are appreciated.
prayers for his eye and the visit to go well. the song is perfect with the photos of the day dying in the west. just perfect. I like the sound of the first dulcimer video but the 2nd not so much. the first one reminds me of the first dulcimers I even heard, as child in the wilds of Kentucky. I love Florida, but if I had the $$$$$$$$$ I would move from Bradenton back to St Pete, only 40 miles away, and live there close to my son, in winter and another home in TN during summer, close to my other son.... have always thought it would be great to have two homes to move to when I don't care for the HURRICANES here.
I really like that dulcimer! I'm with you on the mountains of Georgia. So pretty, but those one lane, curvy roads are soooo stressful! Praying for the eye situation!
I would love to live in the mountains, it's very flat here on the Texas coast. It's really not that pretty at all except by the water, but I can't imagine living anywhere else, this is home. Maybe I could move the mountains here! lol Hope all goes well for John, sending prayers.
Prayers for John. For me, I would love to find a cottage like in one of the Thomas Kincade paintings, with a pond and trees around it. I always love seeing those pictures. A friend gave me a set of notes that had pictures of his paintings on them. That was before his work became so well-known. Peace and blessings to you and yours.
Dennis and I have actually talked of this often. We both chose the coastal range in Oregon. We would have a cottage inland in the mountains but only 7-10 miles from the ocean. The best of both worlds! They rarely get snow or ice as it's a very moderate climate. Perfection. Our other choice would be in the rural United Kingdom in an old, old cottage with higglety-pigglety staircases and rooms! Dennis said he would dread the plumbing and electrical but we can still dream! I do love where you live in Florida, but I don't know if I can handle the heat and humidty. The dulcimer is gorgeous. Thanks for this fun post my friend. Blessings and hugs, Betsy
Prayers lifted for John and his eye issues, Pamela. Please let us know how everything turns out for him and you. You photos are wondrous as always! Blessings for great daydreams always!
If imaging is the same as daydreaming then, yeah, I let my mind wander that way sometimes. I try to imagine how wonderful Heaven is. I like my life, feel very grateful, but being on earth can sometimes be so trying ... 😊 Our sunrises and sunsets have been lovely lately. Love this time of year. Blessings.
I hope the eye appointment goes very well. Lovely photos. I wish you could have cooler months too for your sake. Hot and humid is no fun at all. Thanks for joining in. It was pretty light participation lately. I hope its not getting too boring. Let us know how your hubby is.
First off, prayers for your Honey and the eye appointment, and all that that entails. now to the Daydreaming ... I do believe we must be sisters with the same thought patterns. I couldn't agree more on all of your choices. Its all about family and those that are like family to us. Sue
O Father God, minister to John's eye problem and preserve his sight!
Beautiful pictures, Pam. I really like your lakeside mountain home but like you, I'd be sure that porch fire never happens and opt for a fire pit out in the yard!
Your family's get-away spot looks like the sort of place daydreams are made from! Best of all, you can always go back without the hassle and cost of flying. Lifting my prayers now -- both for John and his cheerful Girl Friday. (*grin*)
I enjoyed your post, Pam! You and John are always in my daily prayers. The Georgia mountains are lovely, but as you mentioned - until it gets cold and snows! xo
Thank you for visiting here today. I would love for you to sign my guestbook and let me know you stopped by. I always enjoy reading your comments and words of encouragement! May you be blessed as you go on your way. Please come back and visit again soon.
