It's Friday again!! The weeks just keep rolling on and on and on!! Sometimes I wish we could get off of this "merry-go-round" and just stand still for a little while!
Maybe if someone could stop the music from playing...LOL
And stop beating on that bongo drum...
And let me play with my Humpty Dumpty in peace
And be the little Angel that I've always longed to be,
instead of this "screaming" (this was a happy scream because I got the Dr. Kit I wanted for Christmas)
or this "Wild" child in the woods who's gonna shoot you if you come any closer!
And then ride off into the sunset on this wild pony...
Maybe I really just need a nap...
Yes, let's "cheer" each other up...
and go join a whole bunch of "happy campers" for a while
(actually the camp staff/counselors at the Warren W. Willis Youth Camp, summer of 1968...see if you can find me! Hint, I'm on the back row toward the the left, standing in the middle of some boys!)
And when you want to find some inner peace, go sit on these silver benches along the shore and have your morning devotions...(along with those Sand Hill Cranes...)
And watch the sunrise...
How's that for a lovely way to start your day?

Okay, that's it for today's post...stepping back in time a bit. Next week is my birthday, and I guess I am waxing a bit nostalgic this morning, plus I didn't have any decent new photos to share, so there you go!
Psalm 71:17-18
17 "O God, You have taught me from my youth;
And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.
18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded,
O God, do not forsake me,
Until I declare Your strength to this generation,
Your power to everyone who is to come."
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
Amen
Have a great weekend!!!
What a great idea, these retro images! Such a pretty, happy baby ... turned co-ed! The one of you napping on your daddy's lap is priceless.
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm pretty sure I found you in that camp photo. Do you still keep in touch with any of those young men/women? That image of the cross on water is stunning; I've never seen anything like that before.
I hope y'all enjoy a happy day!
How fun! I love your captions with the photos. That cross photo is lovely. Wishing you a lovely Friday full of Gods grace and love.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
I love these old photos, Pamela! It was great to see some of them again and others for the first time. Happy Birthday early!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, my friend!
The photos were so much fun to see. Thank you for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are just wonderful. They take you back to what things once looked. The Christmas trees are taking me back. The cheerleader picture reminds me of my aunt who is not old enough to be an aunt---Mother's much younger sister.
ReplyDeleteThe old photos are good to see and words added to them 😊. I was going through some things in area where my sewing machine is at and I found a few photos of our wedding and when our daughter was 4 by a snowman ⛄️ in NM . Good memories. Take care and enjoy your weekend. ~ Becky
ReplyDeleteI love your photos so much! Can you imagine: God's love for you in your country, from then till now, and God's loving gaze on me in Europe, from the past to the present. "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him (2 Chronicles 16:9). How graceful He is to us in Jesus Christ! He will ensure we safely reach His Home. Just as safe as you were in your father's arms in that photo.
ReplyDeleteOh, and the screaming photo is fantastic. I had a similar experience with my dollhouse on a birthday.
Pam: These are precious memories you have. I have one question though. Are you sure that that i a pony you are riding? It looks like a young cow to me! (LOL) Happy Birthday to you. Peace and blessings to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteGreat comments with each photo. You really were a cute lil' kid!!!
ReplyDeleteFun photos on this windy Friday as we wait for the hurricane to get closer. What a nice place to sit and think of God on a lovely morning. Have a wonderful weekend
ReplyDeleteAdorable and really, you haven't changed. I can still see "you." in those childhood photos. I especially like the one with your dad and the one sitting by the small piano - reminds me of Schroeder on Peanuts.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that picture of you sleeping in your daddy's lap. So sweet! It is always fun going back in time. I can always pick you out because you really haven't changed that much. Have a blessed weekend, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteHi Pam, I sure enjoyed all your pictures! Your mom was a good picture taker! You are too! Enjoy the weekend.
