Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

SONday Morning Blessings
Good SONday Morning everyone! I hope this beautiful day finds you rejoicing in the Lord and giving Him thanks and praise for all He has done!
I received this sweet card in the mail yesterday from one of our blogging friends! She created this sweet little card with my One Word "Delight" and my key verse for 2022, Psalm 37:4, so I can put it on my countertop above my sink and enjoy it every day...and be reminded to "Delight (myself) in the LORD; and HE will give (me) the desires of (my) heart!" What a DELIGHTful way to start each day! Perhaps you'd like to remind yourself to do this each day as well! What a wonderful way to live our lives, DELIGHTing in the Lord and all His goodness and love. Last week in our Pastor's sermon he mentioned this verse, but the version he quoted (and I'm not sure which translation it was) used the phrase "Draw NEAR to the Lord" in place of Delight...and I thought, yes, that is true...Delighting in the Lord is the same thing as drawing near to Him. Because when we draw near to Him, we will be DELIGHTed in all that He is, all that He does, and all that He provides for us through His grace and love. When we DELIGHT ourselves in the Lord by drawing near to Him, He will give us the desires of our hearts because our hearts will only want to be in His perfect will.
Here's another little "delight" I saw yesterday at our church when we were there for a pot-luck "Agape" luncheon:
This beautiful camellia flower blooming!
The bushes around the church will filled with such lovely flowers!
I thought you'd enjoy seeing this in January, wherever you are!
It truly was a delight!
You might also enjoy hearing our choir singing
"Go Tell it on the Mountain" and also hear our pastor's message for today.
These are pre-recorded ahead of time.
Go tell it on the mountain....Tell the good news! Tell the good news!
Go tell it on the mountain! That Jesus Christ is born!
One more note before I go. I had a message from our blogging friend Martha Jane Orlando's husband Danny yesterday. Martha is still in the hospital, fighting pneumonia. They have put her on a new antibiotic and he is hopeful that she will start feeling better now as she wasn't coughing as much, but she is still quite ill and in need of our prayers. Thank you for your continued prayers on Martha's behalf.
Now, I hope you will have a DELIGHT-ful day, drawing near to the Lord, and sharing the good news with everyone that Christ has come to us!! Amen!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandi! That I am! And I pray you are also!! Blessings my friend!
DeleteWhat a DELIGHTful post and how wonderful to get a card like to reaffirm your choice every day.
ReplyDeleteI don't know Martha but I will pray for her now.
Have a wonderful, blessed Sunday- xo Diana
Thank you, Diana! It was such a nice surprise to receive that sweet card. Made my day! It was indeed DELIGHTful! Thank you for your prayers for Martha. I know she will appreciate them. She's a beautiful person. I hope you have a blessed and Delightful SONday too!!
DeleteHi Pamela, so nice to pop in and see that all is well in your world. I'm so sorry to hear about Martha. Was this from Covid? I'll pop over there to leave a message. Have a beautiful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha! So good to hear from you, and I hope you are doing well. We miss seeing you! Regarding Martha Jane Orlando, no this was NOT Covid related. It is Bacterial Pneumonia. Not sure how she got that, but I guess she is pretty sick if she is still in the hospital. I don't know if she is checking her blog, but she will be happy to hear from you whenever she can get back to it. Thank you so much. I hope you have a blessed day too!!
DeleteI hope your day is Delight-ful!
ReplyDeleteI do love camellias. Mom had some gorgeous ones.
Thank you, Anne. It has been delight-ful so far! Took a nice nap after church and lunch, and now I am refreshed and ready to finish taking down the tree and some other Christmas stuff, a little at a time. NOt rushing into it as it is very tiring, and I enjoy seeing it still...but it is time to let it go... Yes, I love camellias too. I had some pretty ones at our last house, but haven't planted any here. So I enjoy seeing them wherever I can. 'Tis the season for them around town now, and they are so pretty! Hope you have a blessed and wonderful rest of your day and week.
DeleteIt was a DELIGHT visiting with you today! The card is DELIGHT-ful, a sweet blessing from your friend. The flowers are so pretty - pretty flowers always make me happy. Hope you're having a very happy and blessed day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary! It is ALWAYS a DELIGHT when I hear from you! Yes, I am having a very happy and blessed day! I hope you are too! Thanks for writing. Love ya!
DeleteI'm singing to myself, and probably will be for awhile. Haven't thought about that song in some time. What a sweet gift, and sounds like you have a special place to put it so you can see it often. Your flowers are beautiful. So nice to see color, we have none at home right now.
ReplyDeleteYes, we always can use a spot of color in the "bleak mid-winter". Of course, here in Florida, our winter is not so bleak as in other places, but it does get rather drab until the spring flowers start popping out again. Hope you have had a relaxing and peaceful weekend.
DeleteAnother uplifting post. Yes, to delight in the Lord brings new light on all the rest of life.
ReplyDeleteYes it does!! Maybe that's why it's called "de-LIGHT" !! (smiles)
DeleteI love 'Go Tell It On The Mountain'! That's an enduring favorite, so I sang right along. (hee-hee) Thank you for this update on sweet Martha; still praying!
ReplyDeletePS - Sorry to be late! I tried to indulge in a nice nap myself, but the weather radio kept going off. Pretty severe storms, but thankfully we're just wet. Very, very wet.
Oh, I am glad nothing severe hit you. We are expecting rain tomorrow and a cold front to follow. Today it got up to 80, and tomorrow won't get out of the low 60's. But that's okay. 80 is too hot for January, no matter WHERE you live! Thank you for praying for Martha. I know she appreciates it. Danny too. I think this has been very hard for him, as he is not allowed to go see her at all.
DeletePrayers appreciated. Take care and have a wonderful week.
Will continue to lift Martha up to our Lord. I just hate it that so many are sick. I know several that are fighting something but it's not been covid but so much like it. Prayer...Lord remind us to keep fighting through prayer. YES GIRL...I love that scripture, Delight yourself in the Lord. You are a DELIGHT to know as one of my precious blogging friends! I hope that you have a most delightful week. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteThank you! YOu are a DELIGHT to know as well, and I thank God for you also as one of my precious blogging friends. We are blessed to all have each other. And thank you for praying for Martha. I know she appreciates all the prayers. (((hugs))) to you my friend.
DeleteHave a good week ahead, Pam! Prayers continue for Martha Jane! Love & hugs!
ReplyDeletePam: Your choir sounds great. I love the arrangement of this gospel hymn. Peace and blessings.
