Have a Blessed Thanksgiving Day

I am so very sorry to start this Thanksgiving Day with a sad note, but wanted to let those of you who have been following Barbara and Tom Mims' story, here is a link to Barbara's post that she wrote just a few minutes ago:

 https://sweetteaandsandals.blogspot.com/2020/11/a-temporary-goodbye.html

I am very much in shock as to how quickly this all happened, and it certainly goes to show us that we need to always be ready to meet the Lord, for none of us are guaranteed tomorrow.  Please keep Barbara and her beautiful family in your thoughts and prayers today and in the coming weeks. And let us also rejoice in the fact that, as Barbara so poignantly wrote in her post, this is just a "Temporary Goodbye".

I hope that you all have a blessed and  beautiful Thanksgiving Day. I know many are not able to be with their loved ones today, but even from a distance, you can express your love and "thanksgiving" for one another.  I am so very aware of just how precious those expressions are, and once the loved one is no longer with us we can't do that anymore...so let us take that opportunity to "reach out and touch someone" with our love today.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

  2. My heart is breaking for Barbara and her family. Thank you, Pamela, for sharing the link here, as there seems to be a delay from the time Barbara posts to the time it arrives in my inbox.
May you and yours have a blessed Thanksgiving!

  3. While this one is so different I have never felt so much gratitude for being healthy. I call it tears in thankfulness. You have a wonderful day. I think a little outside time is in order since November is proving to be just a beautiful month.

  5. Such a shock! Life is so fleeting, isn't it?
It almost feels disrespectful to say 'Happy Thanksgiving' ... but from what you've told us about Barb and Beloved, maybe he'd want it that way.

  6. Yes, Barb's news was shocking and so very sad. I am still trying to understand but God is in control and the ultimate healing is Heaven (as a friend mentioned last week in Bible study). I wish you and yours a blessed day, Pam!! xo

    1. I am so thankful that you have such a close relationship with the Lord, and that He alone can carry you through this time. But isn't it great also to have family rally around and help carry you through these difficult moments. As I was peeling potatoes and preparing food for our family gathering today I was thinking about you and praying that your family was there, and that they brought food for all...Somehow I knew that is how it would be, and that God already had that prepared ahead of time. He knows exactly what we need. Good night dear friend. I hope we will be able to get together sometime soon when you are able and ready. (((hugs)))

  11. I saw Barbara's post and I am heartbroken for her. I cannot believe how quickly he passed and the shock they must have felt to see him waving one moment and gone the next. So sad.
I hope you had a good Thanksgiving yourself, Pam. xo Diana

  12. My heart goes out to Barbara and this sad time for her. Covid is brutal. We never know what tomorrow brings, but we do know who holds tomorrow. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

  13. Pam, thank you for sharing this bitter-sweet post. These "good-byes" are so hard, yet, for those of us in Christ, it's really not good-by but "see you later".

My heart does go out to Barbara and the rest of the family and friends...

  14. Pam: It is always a shock when someone leaves us unexpectedly. I took the time to leave a message on Barbara's blog. I will continue to pray for her. Peace and blessings to you.
