Friday Foto Friends

I really don't have many new photos to share with you today as I shared them all yesterday. So I may have to go searching for something "new" or maybe something not so new. Let's see where this goes...

Yesterday morning I was enjoying the way the morning sunlight was filtering in through the blinds in the kitchen.  I know the pictures aren't very bright, but this is the view from my kitchen sink and it just made me smile.  There's those muffins I made the day before...yum.

And that pillow on that stool says "Friends are the flowers in life's garden".  I have always loved that saying. We can never have too many flowers in our garden...just like we can never have too many friends.  Being so isolated these past months has made me really appreciate my friends here in blogland even more!! Thank you for being such a lovely bouquet!!

Just another view in my kitchen...there's the needlepoint that my paternal Grandmother made many years ago.  It says: "Come into my kitchen and chat with me while I prepare a pot of tea." Just let me know when you are coming, and I will put the kettle on! Or even if you just happen to drop by, I will be so happy to see you and will gladly put the tea kettle on...or the coffee pot if you prefer!

There are several places to sit and visit with me while we wait for the tea kettle to boil...

We can be like these two little old ladies, sitting with our crochet needles working while we visit.
(sorry you can see the reflection of my cell phone over that sweet old lady's face. I'm sure she never dreamed of such a thing back in her day!)

Welcome to my kitchen.  You can see the tea things are already set out for us.

Again, I like the way the sunlight was shining on this favorite decorative plate that says:
"Cherish your family for they are your treasure.
A storehouse of riches...wealth beyond measure."

Yes, we treasure our families as well as our dear friends.  We are blessed if we are able to enjoy both!

A few thoughts for today from Proverbs:

Proverbs 24:3-4
3.  "Through wisdom a house is built,
and by understanding it is established;
4.  By knowledge the rooms are filled
with all precious and pleasant riches."

Proverbs 31:25-30
25. "Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
26.  She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and on her tongue is the law of kindness.
27.  She watches over the ways of her household,
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28.  Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
29.  "Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all."
30.  Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
but a woman who fears the Lord,
she shall be praised."

  2. I enjoyed seeing your pretty kitchen today.

    I wanted to respond to your question on my blog yesterday. We live outside of Pittsburgh by about 45 miles on the eastern side. We're in Latrobe...hometown of Mr. Rogers and Arnold Palmer, the birthplace of the banana split, and location of the first all-pro football game ever played. Our son and his family live in Crafton Heights so not far from your family's roots. What are some of the names floating around in your family? My daughter-in-law is big into genealogy and has dug up a lot of stuff on her family. Maybe there is some cross over?

    1. Thank you, Stacy. I will write to you on facebook Messenger, if that is okay, where we can discuss this in "private". LOL. Thank you for visiting here in my kitchen today...and wouldn't it be fun if we found out we were related? Now that would be exciting news! LOL.

    1. I didn't know you were no longer on Facebook! Not even your Breathing in Grace page? I thought I saw you there not long ago? I can't blame you for not being on there anymore. I don't spend nearly as much time there as before. I don't do Instagram, however. I do have an account, but I don't use it. I really don't know how.

    2. I deleted my Facebook account on Sunday. I couldn't keep the Breathing in Grace page without my personal page... I wish I could have. ๐Ÿ˜”

    3. Oh, that is too bad! I will miss you there! Well, I hope you will keep posting in Blogger so we can keep up. I really don't know what to do with Instagram. And I guess I just don't have time to add more to my "social media". I am trying to scale back too. Please stay in touch with us. You are a very special friend.

  7. Lovely cosy items in your home. I especially love the two old ladies visiting while they are knitting. To answer your question about the Instant Pot: Yes, I do use it quite often and I love it. It makes meat very tender and cooks up beans without needing to soak them overnight. It also cooks boiled eggs perfectly and the shells come off very easily. When I want a quick roasted chicken or BBQ ribs I steam cook them in the IP and then brown them in the oven and add the sauce. You can even cook meats from their frozen state if you didn't have time to thaw first. I haven't tried baking desserts in it yet. I will do that one day. Have a wonderful weekend.

  9. Pam, what a lovely post. It would be nice to sit and chat with a cup of tea/coffee. We truly do need each other at times like this! God created us for relationship--relationship with Him and then with others.

    Love and blessings!

    1. Thank you, Kim. I would so love to have you come and sit and chat with me. We would enjoy that time of fellowship for sure. Yes, we do need to be with people. Praying it won't be long before we will be able to resume more in person fellowship times. Until then, I'm glad we have these social media options.

  10. Looking forward to visiting your blog is like opening a present.....always something cozy, delightful and encouraging. I often notice the way sun highlights a special dish or photograph. I love the view out your front windows. The saying on the pillow is so true. The framed needlework is a real treasure, also. I love the idea of hot tea, but truthfully love the taste of coffee better! I do love iced tea in the summer; my mother served iced tea with every dinner. I'm thankful for blog friends too, especially during these troubled and secluded times. Have a blessed weekend. xo

    1. Oh, thank you, Mildred. That was so sweet the way you put that..."like opening a present". Thank you. I look forward to visiting with you and all of our friends here the same way. It is something to look forward to every day. Oh, we drink iced tea most of the time. Hot tea is my morning drink, and sometimes afternoon, but not so much in the summer. My hubby drinks coffee, so we always have both available! So come on down!

    1. Oh, Thank you, Nonnie. I would love it ever so much if you could come and sit down with me and visit face to face. We would have such a great time. You would also see that I have not given up hardly anything sentimental in our house. I honestly tried to downsize when we moved, but somehow it just didn't work out that way. It is what it is. LOL.
