A Quick Follow Up Post-Meeting New Friends!

I thought I should add a follow-up to my earlier "Friday Foto Friends" post, so you all can see that I did get to meet our friend Barbara from Sweet Tea and Sandals today.

Here we are, and Barbara is holding Baby Elva, who was all dressed up in her Valentine's Dress just for the occasion.

We had such a wonderful visit, and enjoyed getting better acquainted over a dish of fresh strawberry shortcake.  Yes, strawberries are in season here in Florida, and we take advantage of their ripe, plump deliciousness every opportunity we get!  Today was a great day for the first strawberry shortcake of the year! (Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of that!)

Our hubbies also enjoyed getting acquainted and found out that being the spouses of blogging friends can be fun for them as well.

One of the perks to me for being the hostess was not only enjoying visiting with such wonderful people, but I was blessed with such a nice "hostess gift" from our guests.

Barbara seemed to know exactly what would please me...these three lovely little tea towels are perfect!! So now I know I have to plan a tea party so I can use these tea towels!  Actually, we did kind of have a "tea party" today...even though I was the only one drinking tea. Coffee works just as well for a tea party, if that is your preference!!

So, I want to thank Barbara and her beloved hubby for their thoughtfulness and taking the extra time out of their trip to stop by and visit with us. It was our pleasure and delight to have them here.

Now, who's next?  Y'all come!!  I'll put the kettle on...or the coffee pot, or whatever you prefer! Iced tea is fine too! And you don't need to bring gifts...your presence is gift enough for me!!

Have a blessed and wonderful weekend! Happy February!!

    1. Thank you Ann. It was delightful. It is always fun to meet new people...and especially when we feel like we are already "old friends" from knowing one another here in "blogland". I would so love to meet you someday. I don't know if we'll ever make it to NJ, but if we do, I will definitely let you know...and if you ever decide to head south for a visit, please know that my door is always open to you and your family. "Y'all come!"

    1. Oh, Barbara, it was so delightful meeting you and Tom face to face! John and I both enjoyed our visit so much. My only regret was that we never took the walk into the Secret Garden. So maybe you'll just have to stop again sometime! Our home is always open!

  5. I'm sure this was a nice day for you and your hubby. Strawberries are one of the nice things about late spring up here. We look forward to strawberries and whipped cream. Hubby gets to have the shortcakes with his. Yesterday, at the grocery, a worker gave away samples of chocolate covered strawberries. I had to pass on them. The looked interesting. Peace and blessings,
