Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Take Time to "Smell the Roses"...or Apple Blossoms In This Case...
The other day I posted a couple of pictures on my Facebook page of some apple blossoms on our little Golden Dorset Apple Tree!
I was amazed to see it blooming in October!
Someone asked me if the apple blossoms smelled good...and I had to admit that I was so busy taking their pictures that I never stopped to smell them.
So I went back outside to smell the apple blossoms, and discovered this little dragonfly had already beat me to the punch! Of course, he's probably doing more than just smelling...I expect he's enjoying a sip of apple nectar at the same time!
I thought to myself...Life is passing by so quickly...here it is almost the end of another year... Fall is upon us already, when most things are dying and preparing to go into hibernation for the winter...but this little apple tree thinks it's spring time and decided to bloom one more time...to give us another chance to embrace the beauty and smell the lovely fragrance of spring...
I wonder...could this be a foretaste of something really wonderful about to happen?
New life springing forth when we thought all was lost?
I don't know...but this little apple tree and sweet dragonfly give me hope
for tomorrow...the promise of spring even in the midst of autumn...
Perhaps there is someone else out there who needs a fresh breath of spring in the autumn of life...new hope for tomorrow...
Psalm 16:8-11
8. "I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand
I shall not be moved.
9. Therefore my heart is glad,
and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.
10. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
11. You will show me the path of life;
In Your Presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
Romans 15:13
"Now may the God of hope
fill you with all joy and peace
in believing,
that you may abound in hope by the power of
the Holy Spirit."
Amen.
Now...take some time to go smell the roses...or apple blossoms...or whatever sweet fragrance the Lord places in your pathway...and
rest in Hope!!

OH! I LIKE THAT! I’M SCREAMING! :) ok, caps off now, but that caught my attention like a burst of sunlight in the middle of a storm. YES!
❤️
DeleteSandi, I always love your enthusiasm!!! You get it every time...sometimes even better than I got it!! Thank you for your "scream" and "burst of sunlight in the middle of a storm." That's how God works!!!
DeleteThose blossoms are so pretty. It never occurred to me that apple trees grew in Florida. I thought it was oranges. I will take that hope as I need to see new life springing up where I am. Little things ... little signs give me hope. Psalm 16 is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteApples don't usually grow in Florida. This is a variety that is supposed to grow in north central Florida, where we live. We have had it two years, and so far no apples...but the blossoms are lovely. I think it needs another tree to trans-pollinate. We do have two, but not sure it's the right kind...But we enjoy watching and waiting. We planted these in memory of our son.
DeleteThat is so amazing that the apple tree is blooming now! Hope for tomorrow! Love that ! I love Psalm 16...especially vs.11...in His presence is fullness of joy! It is what keeps my world going! xx
ReplyDeleteOne apple contains the seeds for millions of apple trees when you think about it. A great testament of God's greatness.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos.
It sure could be a foretaste of something new to come...God does things like that, yes He does!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and I love the dragonfly!
ReplyDeletePsalm is one of my favorite books of the Bible.

Pam, You've written another hope-filled post with amazing photos. The apple tree blossoms are so beautiful! New life in autumn...pondering...rather like those who come to faith on their death-bed? "I wonder...could this be a foretaste of something really wonderful about to happen?New life springing forth when we thought all was lost?" I love this "picture", this object lesson full of truth and hope for the future.
ReplyDeleteGod is full of surprises for His people and His world!
Blessings!
Ah, the promise of spring and rebirth even as though the summer has faded away . . . What encouraging words you have shared here, Pamela, and they go perfectly with the amazing apple blossoms. May we see God's promise of hope and new life in everything.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
A wonderful message on a day that started out with sub-freezing temps for us. (29*) Please enjoy your apple tree while you can.
ReplyDeleteImagine apple blossoms in late October! Here our trees are going bare even though our temp today hit the low 50's. I think we will start getting true Autumn weather "Finally!" Have a blessed evening dear Pamela.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful blessing that there is always HOPE for tomorrow!!
