May God bless and heal our President and First Lady and help them to be strong and resilient. Amen.
Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!
What Do You See Outside YOUR Open Window Today?

What a Difference a Day Makes
This is how our morning started out! That is the moon on its final descent over Still Waters Pond early this morning when we first woke up.
And this is the sun on its final descent this evening over Still Waters Pond
I don't often see the actual ball of sun going down between the trees like this. Normally I see the sunset after it has already slipped down behind the trees, lighting up the skies with its glorious colors.
But tonight was a little different...I watched the sun slip down, down, down, and then I thought the show was over so I went back inside. It was a little bit of gray/blue clouds, nothing else spectacular to see.
And then about five minutes later I looked out the window and this is what I saw:
So I ran back outside to watch until the darkness began to overtake the light.
And then it was time to go back inside before the mosquitoes found me!
John 1:1-5
1. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2. He was in the beginning with God.
3. All things were made through Him,
and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5. And the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness did not comprehend it."
So, what a difference a day makes, huh? Today I am sure we were all surprised to wake up to the startling news that our President and First Lady have been diagnosed with the corona virus. And this evening you may have watched with me as they took the President by helicopter to Walter Reed hospital for observation and treatment. Thankfully, he was able to walk on board and give us a thumbs up as he entered the helicopter. We are very thankful that as of now his symptoms are minimal, as are the First Lady's. Our thoughts and prayers are with them both as they recover from this illness. No matter what side of the political aisle we may be on, I would hope and pray that our nation will put politics aside for once and truly pray for the well being and healing of our Commander in Chief and his wife.
I Timothy 2:1-3 says:
"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and giving of thanks be made for all men,
2. for kings and all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4. who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth..."

Amen, Pamela! They need our prayers.
ReplyDeleteAll of your photos are lovely and so reassuring today.
Thank you so much, Mrs. T! Yes, they definitely do need our prayers, as does our whole country, that we would repent and be healed as a nation. May God complete the work that He has begun. I am so thankful for praying friends. God bless you.
DeleteBeautiful scenes. I have learned that when watching a sunset, it is wise to stay till all light has faded. Too often, I have left too soon and missed the best part of the sunset.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Ruth, you are so right! Many evenings I go out and take pictures of the sunset and then go back inside thinking it is over, and then look out and it has gotten even more spectacular than before! Maybe God's way of showing us that "the best is yet to come". So be patient and trust and wait on the Lord to complete what He has started!! Have a blessed and glorious day, my friend. I hope your niece is recovering well.
DeleteMost definitely praying for our President and lovely First Lady! Yes, Pamela, what a difference a day makes. Who would have ever thought that getting the virus would be the October surprise for President Trump? I have faith that both of them will pull through with flying colors; they have the best of care.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I think we've had enough "surprises" this year. Praying now for God's healing and blessing in our land.
DeletePraying for the President and First Lady that God will heal their bodies. I loved looking at that moon too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. Yes, God is in control and I know we can trust Him to do all things well. Isn't it amazing that we are looking at the same moon? I love that.
DeleteYes, I feel exactly the same way you do. Yesterday morning and last night "my heart in my throat". As always, you posted such lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Linda
Thank you, Linda. I agree with the "my heart in my throat" feeling. I know God's got this, but we can't help but wonder sometimes, "what next?" So thankful to know God is in control in all things.
DeleteYes, praying for them. It is all we can do, but we can pray and He hears.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are a stark reminder that He has this.
Amen, Sandy. God has got this, and we can rely on Him to do all things well. Praying this will help bring people together instead of more division.
DeleteIt appeared like the "show" was over, but then... it was beautiful. I like that.
ReplyDeleteI think it will be comforting to many people to see the President and Melania recover from this virus. Praying for them.
Yes, Sandi, with God, sometimes what we think is "the end" is only the beginning.
DeleteGod is in control, in all things.
Definitely praying for President Trump, the First Lady, his family and staff. God is good...all the time.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it odd how the best show is moments later than what we thought was "the end"?
A happy weekend to you!
Yes,Vee, I love that thought..."the best show is moments later than what we thought was the end"....we just never know what the Lord has in store for us. We need to never give up hope. God is in control.
DeleteYes, we are praying for our President and First Lady and for our country. I really enjoyed your photos, Pam. What a lovely view you have of sunsets!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Terri. I know God is hearing our prayers. We will trust Him for the very best. And yes, we do enjoy these sunsets! They have been spectacular lately! Praise God for His beauty all around us.
DeleteWhat an interesting comparison with the moon and the sun over Still Waters Pond.
ReplyDeletePraying with you for our President and his lovely wife. May they recover soon and in the process feel the loving comfort of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen! Thank you, Barbara. We are all praying in agreement here. Thank the Lord.
DeleteI, too, was so saddened to hear yesterday's news; both Tom and I were on the edge of our seats waiting to see him emerge from the White House. Now I can't help but wonder about Barron; if one of his siblings hasn't stepped up. I mean 14 y/o's not a baby, but still.
ReplyDeleteProud to be among your prayer warriors!
I thought of Barron too, but Melania did stay at the White House, so he is not there alone, and he does not have the virus. I am sure he is well taken care of. Thank you for being a "prayer warrior" with the rest of us!! This is a great team!!
DeleteYour views are spectacular Pamela, as are your thoughts and the scripture verses are so appropriate too, our thoughts and prayers remain with our First family.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and for your sweet comment.
Blessings,
Sue
Beautiful photos, as always, Pam. Yes, a day can make such a huge difference--sometimes less than a day--the morning can start out one way and can end so very differently. I've been praying for President and Mrs. Trump during this time.
ReplyDeleteLove and blessings!
