Friday Foto Friends: What Do You See?

Hello Friday Foto Friends! Another week has come and gone! Wow! Can you believe this is the last weekend in October? Halloween, End of Daylight Savings time! (Fall back), the last weekend before the election? (Don't worry, not going to talk about that) and a Full Moon!
Right now as I write (Thursday night)

So as I started to put this post together, sorting through the pictures I've taken this past week, I kind of discovered a recurring theme...each picture is kind of like a mystery photo...different shapes, items, shadows, things...so I thought instead of me telling you what the pictures are, I'd let you see whatever you see in the pictures and you can tell me in your comments. I may have some connecting thoughts throughout the page, but I really hope that you will use your imagination and tell me what you see or don't see or think you see. There is no exact answer...I just want us to use our imaginations and tell us what you see.

This first one is pretty obvious...it's kind of a selfie, but actually it was totally by accident. I was trying to take a picture of that old mirror hanging on the wall in the church Thrift store garage when I went to visit again the other day. I never even realized I was taking a picture of myself when I snapped this photo, so this was a surprise to me.  Might have been a surprise to someone else too...I wasn't the only one in the picture. LOL.

This is a picture of a picture in the thrift store. Do you see what I see?

Can you guess why I wanted to take a picture of this picture?

Now, I wonder how many of you will see what I saw in this cloud:

I must tell you the story about it.  My hubby and I went for our usual evening walk. No sooner had we stepped out of our car to begin walking when we started hearing what sounded like gunshots on the other side of the woods. We debated whether or not to keep walking or just get back in the car and leave, but we decided to keep walking. However, the gunshots kept happening, and we walked a little faster and actually held each other's hands as we walked.  Hubby moved to my right, which was between me and the direction from where we could hear the gunshots. My hero!  Now, please understand, this is a wooded area, but not wooded enough for hunters. There are homes not far away, and the shots were actually coming from the direction of where the houses were on the other side of those trees. But it was a pretty good distance away from us, and we decided someone must be doing some target practice and they weren't aiming at us. So we kept walking. But to be honest, I was nervous. Maybe even a little bit scared. By the time we got down to the other end of the road we were discussing what to do if the shots kept firing. I was praying as we walked. And I looked up in the sky and I saw this cloud above . And immediately I felt totally at peace. I knew that God had sent this angel to pray for us and that we needed not fear.

For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.
Psalm 91:11

And we walked all the way back to our car and never heard another shot.
Thank You, Jesus!

Now this cloud below wasn't so "angelic" as the other one. This was taken on another evening, through the window as we drove along the road again to go for our walk.
What do YOU see in these clouds? (Pardon the spots on the window...not sure if they were raindrops or just dirt...I didn't notice it at the time)

Now, I wonder if you can see what I see in this photo below?

You have a good eye if you can spot the spider web!

Thankfully, my "hero" spotted it before we walked right into it!

He is pointing to where it was stretched across the road,  coming down from a tree limb above us and attached to some weeds on the edge of the road.

This is what we would have walked into had he not been very observant:

Coming toward it from the other direction, which was actually the direction we were walking originally,  can you see it?  Aren't you glad my hero saw it first?

This was the morning sunshine on one of those morning walks:

I guess the pink spots were spots on my camera lens as the very bright sun shone through. Either that, or there were pink balloons being sent up into the sky...what do YOU see?

Now this is one of my favorite pictures of the week:
Sunrise from my front porch!  Here is what I wrote on my Facebook page that morning:

"Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
By His name YAH, and rejoice before Him."
Psalm 68:4
The interesting thing is, I did not see those figures "riding on the clouds" until after I posted the picture online and also not until after I selected that particular verse to go with it. Now, do you see what I see?

Revelation 3:8 NKJV
 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it;
 for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
My collection of antique doorknobs.
But what do YOU see?
There may be a clue here for a previous post for those of you who are still trying to figure out the answer to my scavenger hunt.
But you will have to wait until Halloween for the answer.

And speaking of Halloween, which is tomorrow, by the way,
what do YOU see in this picture below?
All in good fun, of course...
I'll be interested to hear your replies to this and all of the other questions above.

Regardless of what you see or don't see, or whether or not we all agree on things or agree to disagree, here is a passage that is on my mind going into next week:

"I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
so shall I be saved from my enemies."
Psalm 18:1-3
Amen

Have a wonderful weekend!
Don't forget to turn your clocks back!

  1. I always see so many images in the clouds! And we are having to watch out for those spider webs when we walk too. The doorknobs are in a neat bowl. Is the price tag on the side of it? I'm not really one to always notice details though! But photos help! Enjoy your day! We are off to Blue Run Park in a little bit. Isn't this weather fabulous!!!

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed this post, and that you are also a cloud watcher! And also a spider web watcher as well! There was a price tag on that bowl, but that wasn't really what I wanted people to see. You may see more later today. I hope you have a wonderful hiking day. Wasn't yesterday gorgeous? I just love this cooler weather, finally!! I hope it decides to stick around a while this time. Enjoy your day too!!

  2. Still Waters Pond!!! What a find that picture is, Pam. Enjoyed the whimsy in the clouds, and am so glad your hubby spotted that spider web before it was too late. I'd hate to walk into that - it's huge!
    Have a blessed weekend, my friend!

    1. Thank you, Martha! Wasn't that something? I was so surprised to find "Still Waters" peeking out at me in the thrift store! But I left it there for someone else to enjoy. I am hoping to frame my own picture of my own Still Waters Pond one of these days! And yes, I am glad my hubby had a keen eye too. That would have been a messy one to get all tangled up in! I hope you have a blessed and happy weekend too.

    1. Anytime! Before you forget what you were going to say, better say it now! LOL. I hope you are having a good weekend. Now I need to get busy and write a new post for today, Halloween! And to reveal my scavenger hunt mystery photo.

    1. Ha Ha! Very good! I wondered if anyone else would see that! As I said, all in good fun! Looked to me like she was riding on a broom and even has a hat on, although not very pointed. I hope you have a blessed and safe weekend as well!!

  5. Lovely photos as always. That picture of Still Waters! How did you not bring it home with you? Amazing "coincidence" don't you think? I always watch the clouds and often see simple things in them, but about 2 years ago the Lord showed me something in vivid detail in the night time clouds. Never experienced anything like it before or since. It very much rattled me and I fully believe it was from God...a warning or prophecy about what was coming down the pike for the U.S.

    1. Yes, I was tempted to bring the "Still Waters" picture home, but decided I would rather frame one of my own pictures of my Still Waters pond if I am going to put anything else on my wall! LOL. It was just so cool to see that there, however. Wow, I am intrigued by your experience with the clouds. I do believe the Lord speaks to us in many different ways to show us His love, His plan, and His power. So we need to be listening and watching for "His signs", especially in what I believe are the "last days". He definitely is trying to get our attention. Thank you for visiting and sharing your thoughts today!

  6. I don't see anything in the clouds but I seldom do. However, I do like a semi-cloudy day. I think they make the sky more interesting. Great photos.
    Blessings. :)

    1. Thank you Sparky. Hey...we all view things a little differently, and that is what makes life more interesting. We are each unique and wonderfully created by God! Thank you for visiting and enjoying the "show". Have a blessed and wonderful day.

  7. I am not the best at seeing things, but I definitely saw an angel in the first cloud picture AND Still Waters in the framed print. The darker cloud seems to be the antithesis of the angel with an angry image. I love the story of the angel showing up on your walk and that verse is one of my favorites. I made a bulletin board for my daughter with that verse after we were in a wreck that it truly felt as though an angel had stopped it at just the right spot. My knee was right at the dash and if it come in any further we would have been hurt badly.
    I wonder if a rabbit is hopping out of the last one.

    1. Wow! What a great story about how the "angel" stopped your automobile accident just in time...I've had several close calls like that and honestly felt like God had allowed some of His angels to get a little squished in between things to protect me from harm. So thankful for our wonderful Lord and His power to rescue us from harm. You did good on your "insights". I mainly just wanted people to look a little deeper than just scrolling on by. Thank you for playing along!

    1. Wasn't that amazing? I thought so too! I almost bought the picture, but then decided I would rather frame a photo of my own "Still Waters Pond" if I do anything at all. Wall space is at a premium around here! LOL.

  9. Love your antique doorknob collection, Pamela! I've only one, but it makes me smile every time I look at it. Now the clouds, hmmmm. At the risk of sounding a fool, #1 reminded me of a little white dog running away. #2, the underside of a giant foot. I'd better stop there, LOL.

    PS - Finally got my Scavenger hunt posted. I can't wait to see your reveal!

    1. I love your answers! Definitely not a fool! Never!! Everyone sees things differently and that is always neat to see and hear. It's just fun to really look at things and not just scroll past and say "that's nice". LOL. I think I saw your Scavenger hunt last night...so I am anxious to see what you reveal too!! Keep watching.

  10. I do not have a great imagination , so I'm not seeing much more than just a great picture in most of these. I did spot the name Still Waters and knew that was dear to your heart. Hope your weekend will be special.

    1. Good enough, Ruth! It mainly was just an exercise to make people really look at the pictures and not just scroll past! So you did a good job! And yes, you are right about the "Still Waters" picture. Hope you have a wonderful weekend too!

  11. Pam, thank you for sharing the photos. It's interesting to see what the camera lens catches that we don't. God creates such stunning masterpieces in His Creation. Sometimes I see things in shapes in clouds and other times not so much. And the "Still Waters" painting is cool. How did you pass that one up?

    Love and blessings!

    1. It's fun to look into the clouds and nature and enjoy all the beauty that is there. I was so surprised by the "Still Waters" painting, but decided I would rather frame a photo of my own "Still Waters Pond" to put on the wall, if I do anything at all. I'm already running out of wall space here! LOL. Have a blessed day!

  12. Great photos, Pam, and it is so fun to discover things you didn't know were there until you actually see the picture on the screen. I hate walking into a sticky cobweb. Glad your hubby saw it first!! Have a blessed weekend!

    1. Yes, nothing worse than walking right into a cobweb! I was surprised that he saw it first, because he's not usually as observant of "nature" as I am, but he doesn't like cobwebs, so maybe he was more alert! I hope you all have a great weekend too. Do trick or treaters come into your neighborhood? We had a lot last year, so it will be interesting to see what happens this year.

  13. In the picture of the picture I see the caption "Still Waters" which I believe is what you've named your pond. In the first clouds photos I see what looks like a Christmas Tree angel (like a topper type of angel which are usually a bit rounder), in the dark cloud photo I see a scary face (two eyes and a nose), next I see several photos of a spider with a big tear in it but I cannot make out what your husband is pointing at on the side of the road, in the next photo of clouds I see colourful orbs (some people say those are angels), in the next sky photos I see a cross in the first one not sure what the next one holds. Lots of great and interesting photos. Now I'm going back to my last post to add photos of the cobwebs, ha, ha. Have a great weekend.

    1. You did very well, Penny! Thank you for actually trying to see something in all of the above. I think you saw everything that I saw. My husband was pointing to the actual cobweb, which was stretched from a tree limb above all the way to the ground, across the road. It's amazing we didn't walk right into it, but he had a good eye!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!

  14. Pam: The lake picture could be of your pond. And the title of the picture is what you call your pond. The angel in the clouds is special. The spider web pictures are interesting. I have walked into a few of them in my lifetime. In the other cloud picture, I see a cross and a Biblical man standing in front of it and facing us. In your picture of your doorknob collection, I see an antique lock.
