Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

"Look At the Birds of the Air"
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Dear Friends, I thought you would enjoy seeing these three different Cardinals, all of which were sitting way up in the treetops this morning as we took our morning walk...and they were singing and calling to one another across the woods...It was as if they were the watchmen letting each other know that humans were out and about and to be watching for them as they walk your way.
Perhaps they are like the watchmen in Psalm 130:5-7
"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in His word I do hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for the morning--
Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.
O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is mercy,
And with Him is abundant redemption."
When we are feeling down or lacking in faith...maybe even feeling a little blue and like no one cares...Remember the birds...and the lilies of the field...how God clothes them and cares for them...and so how much more must He care for us?
Oh, dear soul...Wait for the Lord...even more than those who watch for the morning...Hope in the Lord...For with the Lord there IS mercy and abundant redemption!
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you."
I pray you are having a blessed and glorious day, trusting and hoping in the Lord! He will NOT fail you!!

All of these are some of the most comforting scriptures. Thank you for posting these today and the lovely photos. I have always enjoyed watching the birds. This week I've seen six robins. And last week I saw a little bluebird, which I have never seen before in our neck of the woods. I loved it! The doves are back nesting under our deck and the mockingbird is in the yaupon tree. All is right with the world where the birds are concerned.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nonnie...you've had a difficult week, and I am glad these verses/pictures brought you some comfort. Yes, I love watching the birds...they have often been winged messengers of God's love and comfort to me just at the right moment. So happy you saw a bluebird! I love them, but we don't see them here very often either. I put up the birdhouses in hopes of attracting them, but so far the chickadees seem to be the only ones interested. but they are fun to watch, so I am happy, and yes, "All is right with the world where the birds are concerned." They can see "the bigger picture" from where they are!! Have a blessed day my friend.
DeleteSo blessed by His tender loving care!
