Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!
What Do You See Outside YOUR Open Window Today?
Remember: "When God closes a door, He always opens a window!" You never know what might be out there waiting for you!

The Secret Garden Chronicles-A Glorious Day!
It's the first day of Spring, and it has been a glorious day. Right now I am sitting in the Secret Garden, and I just noticed two tiny baby squirrels watching me from the tree above! They are so cute and so little! I wonder where their mama is!
What a special treat for the first day of spring!!
I'll bet she told them to sit right there in that tree and wait for her to come home...and don't talk to strangers...but she didn't say they couldn't look at the strange lady in the garden!
I've also had fun watching a couple of bunnies romping around in the early morning & evening...doing what bunnies do....after all, it is springtime...and soon it will be Easter!
Not that bunnies truly have anything to do with the real meaning of Easter...except that Easter is a celebration of new life...the Resurrection of Christ from the dead...insuring all who will believe that we, too, shall one day be resurrected from the dead and live a new life eternally in heaven...free from the curse of death...no more sickness or pain, no more sin or sorrow...but a brand new life in a brand new body! What a glorious day that will be!! (Click this video for Casting Crowns' song "Oh Glorious Day")
Jesus said to Martha in John 11:25-26:
"I am the Resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me,
though he may die, he shall live...
And whoever lives and believes in Me
shall never die..."
And that is the real meaning of Easter! We are given new life through Christ...just like in the spring...life begins anew...that which was dead and brown and turning to dust...springs forth with new life...and begins life anew. New flowers,
leaves on trees, wildflowers...
so much beauty everywhere...where once it was dark
and dreary...
New life in Christ...Lives made new...hope restored...all because of Jesus...and that Glorious Day!
Oh, I do hope you will have lots of beautiful flowers and warm sunshiny days ahead! Then you can go outside and sit on your porch and enjoy God's Glorious Day!!!
Oh, how I love that song by Casting Crowns! We sang it every Easter when we led contemporary worship. And your photos of the little squirrels? How they melted my heart, Pam! If you've visited my novel website, you'll know I'm partial to squirrels in every way, shape and form. I even feed them in our yard, along with the birds, of course. Here's my website in case you haven't checked it out: www.gladetrilogy.wix.com/theglade. Blessings!
Thank you Martha Jane. I'm so glad you enjoyed my little squirrels. I will check out your website. I don't intentionally feed the squirrels, but they take it anyway! (from the birds). We have to be careful what we put out here because of the bears, so I limit what kinds of birdseed I use (no sunflower seeds) because that seems to attract the bears more. But we have so much natural food here for the squirrels they seem to thrive without my help. It truly is a glorious day...Jesus has lived for us, died for us, arose from the grave for us...and even better yet...He's coming back for us soon!!! Oh Glorious DAY!!!
Oh, Yes!!! What a Glorious Day that way!!!Thank you, Sylvia...I do love it here...but I've found that I can be content and find beauty wherever I am...if I just take the time to look!! God has placed His glory all around us. I know you see it too! Have a beautifully blessed day today!
We had a beautiful first day of spring and now we have spring rains. I was able to hear Casting Crowns sing and I love that song Glorious Day! I really like the sun coming through the clouds! No place here to put my webpage address so I will use Google that will take you to my blog.
Thank you, Susan, for your visit here today! It is always so delightful to make new friends. I just visited you over at your blog, and love that you have a garden theme as well. I am looking forward to future times of getting better acquainted! Have a blessed and "Glorious Day"!
Pam, I'm sorry to be a bit late getting to read this post and comment. However, in God's time--I'm on time. :) Thank you for this beautiful and hope filled post! On those bad days, I try to remind myself of the glorious future that lies ahead. I'm so ready for my redeemed body! Oh, and earlier this afternoon, I listened to "Glorious Day".
Squirrels and bunnies are so cute. However, they do cause some damage at times. And squirrels, when they get in where they shouldn't not only lose their lives--they cost some sizable expenditure money in repairs (I've had experience!).
Thank you for visiting here today. I would love for you to sign my guestbook and let me know you stopped by. I always enjoy reading your comments and words of encouragement! May you be blessed as you go on your way. Please come back and visit again soon.
A glorious day indeed!! A beautiful reflection.
ReplyDeleteThank you Terri! We are so blessed to be living in the light of God's Glorious Day!!!
DeleteThe first day of spring brought lots of rain to us. But that could mean that we will have beautiful flowers soon.
