Pics of the Week

Pics of the Week

The Geico Gecko doing some pole dancing on my hummingbird feeder this week!
I already did my post for Friday Foto Friends this week, but after I thought about it, I wished I could do something else. However, not wanting to be hoggish, it didn't seem appropriate to post two different posts on the group's blog link up for today, so I'll just post these favorite pics of the week here...and if you happen to check in and notice, I hope you'll enjoy them with me.  My Facebook friends may have already seen most of these pictures, but some of you in the blogging world aren't on my Facebook, so these will be new to you.  Enjoy!
Our Apple Tree has decided to start blooming in September! I guess all the rain woke it back up after a hot, dry summer. I wonder if we'll get apples?  This tree was just planted this past year as a part of our annual memorial for our son. Click HERE for that story.

I was surprised this morning to discover one of our neighborhood fawns, resting in the shade of someone's lawn in the heat of the day! So this is what they do during the day!

Our neighborhood triplet fawns, foraging for their supper! This is how I usually see them, in the early morning or evening.

Earlier in the week we had a storm rolling in, and I asked my hubby to take me to the lake so I could see how the sky looked over the water.  These are the pictures I was able to capture as the wind blew the storm across the water:

Psalm 93:1-2, 5 says:

"The Lord reigns.
He is clothed with majesty;
The Lord is clothed,
He has girded Himself with strength.
Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.
Your throne is established from of old;
You are from everlasting.

Your testimonies are very sure;
Holiness adorns Your house,
O Lord, forever."

Amen.

I hope this has been a pleasant interlude to your day today.   Be blessed, my friends!

  1. So glad you came here to post more photos! I've enjoyed the deer videos on FB. Amazing to be able to watch them like that. I hope you get some apples. Apple blossoms are so pretty, aren't they! Tell the Geico Gecko I'm still waiting for my auto insurance quote! :)

    1. Ha Ha! I will be sure to tell the Gecko next time he comes pole dancing! LOL. Yes, I hope we get apples too, but I have a feeling the deer will come visit my yard when I do! I am so glad you are one of my facebook friends. Yes, the deer have been so much fun here lately! I've never had such close encounters before!

  2. Do I need to look you up on Facebook? These photos are great and I love the gecko! We have those things all over, but never have I seen one pose quite like that. What kind of camera do you have? Your photos are so good.

    1. Thank you Nonnie. I am Pamela Mursch Steiner on facebook. My camera is rather old. It was a gift from my brother a few years ago. He took pity on me because I was the only person left on earth still using regular film instead of digital. He worked for Kodak and had an extra camera he wasn't using. It is a simple Kodak Easy ShareZ650, with a zoom lens 10x. It really does a great job for a small easy camera. I don't want to mess with extra lenses, etc. Takes too much time and the picture will be lost. So I pray this one holds up. Kodak is no longer in business.

  3. You captured a cute little gecko in your photo; does it like the sugar water? That is a dramatic storm rolling in.

    1. I watched the gecko to see if he'd try to drink the sugar water, but he just sniffed around and went up and down the pole a few times before finally heading back to greener pastures. greener, get it? LOL. Yes, the storm looked pretty dramatic. it was for a few minutes and then blew on past. Typical Florida storms.

    1. I was happy to see him. We don't see as many of the green chamelions anymore. It seems as though the cuban anole lizards have taken over. They aren't as pretty as a green chamelion, but they are fun to watch as well. Quite territorial. Life in Florida...always something interesting!

  7. I absolutely adore your photo spread. Those fawns remind me of when we were in Shenandoah National Park in Virgina. We stayed in a cabin off the main road. At around 6:00 P.M. we could drive out to the main road and see the deer feed off the plants and bushes in a field across the main road. One of my memories from the vacations we took.

    1. Thank you Cecilia! I am glad these pictures invoked happy memories for you. I find watching the deer to be so relaxing and pleasurable. I wish they could stay that way always...but like all animals/people they must grow up and move on. But we have this moment today! Enjoy what God has placed in your path today.
