I haven't really felt like writing anything this week...the election was an emotional rollercoaster that left me feeling a bit queasy and unsettled.
But now my focus has changed.
I've seen a lot of good things posted on facebook and in our blogs this week by those of us who were disappointed in the outcome of the election...
What I liked most was that we are a resilient, faith-filled group who will not be discouraged and frightened by the things that are at war around us.
We have shifted our thoughts and minds toward heavenly events...the "Big Picture"...the giant jigsaw puzzle that we call life in this world and the world beyond...
the Universe...the Heavenlies...everything that is in between the Alpha and the Omega...
"The Beginning and the End".
I've heard many people say that they feel even more convinced that "The End" is even nearer than we thought before.
Of course, that is true...every day the end of our lives as we know it comes a little bit closer.
And certainly, if you are a Child of God,
you are looking forward
to being welcomed into the Arms of Jesus someday.
What is on my mind and heart is not so much my own passing from this life into the next,
but the strong impression that I am feeling
that
Christ's return is very soon.
No, I am not making predictions or trying to frighten anyone.
That shouldn't be a frightening thought anyway,
if you KNOW HIM.
It's just a sense that the "signs of the times"
are pointing only one direction: UP.
That is our great hope...
the fulfillment of every believer's greatest desire:
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of an archangel,
and with the trumpet of God,
and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air.
And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore comfort one another with these words."
I Thessalonians 4:16-18
So, therefore, I am hoping to "comfort" you with these words.
Christ's return is imminent.
Jesus Is Coming (this particular video/song may be a little "strange" to some. It's not exactly
my style of "music" either, but the message through the verses posted are very
appropriate for this message today.
AMEN and AMEN. I have read more about Christ being King and God being on His throne lately than I can ever remember.
ReplyDeleteI know...there's such an electric feeling in the air like something good is about to happen! Thank you for expressing your thoughts on this as well. We will keep living our lives as though the Lord is coming any moment, for in fact, He may well be.
DeleteYes, I've felt that rollercoaster too this week. And I am feeling the same things... even my friend's young daughter brought up the question of these times. I've been grieving most of all the spirit of "not getting it" that seems to be so pervasive. And consequences that may come. But I hadn't thought of the saddest thing I heard Huckabee say...that 2 million less voted in this election than in the last, and that it seems that most of that number was us who believe. That many of us simply did not vote. Lord, turn our hearts to pray deeper than ever, to turn to YOu as Your people, and seek Your heart. More than ever.
ReplyDeleteAmen! Thank you, Pam. I know not everyone understands my post above, and some, even believers, are a bit afraid of this possibility that we could be living in the last days. I am going to post something a little more "down to earth", things that we should be doing during this time, in my next post. Thank you again, by fellow traveler and name-sharer! Blessings to you today.
DeleteYes, I just read your followup post and it is great! Perfect. I know what you mean. My mom used to talk about the last days when I was a teen still in the 70's and part of me was excited but a big part was like, hey, I haven't even lived yet! I know a lot of people don't want to see the signs. It amazed me when my friend told me her 14 year old daughter asked her if she thought we were in the last times. Because they don't teach that much in their church. But she's in tune with things of God in ways she hasn't even been taught. And her question spoke volumes to me. Then... this election... well, you know. But prayer, that is the thing we must do. Saturate in prayer. Stay in the Word. Look to Him. Maybe more get it than you think, but just were fearful to comment. But again, your next post is perfect. Blessings to you too!
