"Humble Ourselves and Pray"

II Chronicles 7:14 "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Today is the National Day of Prayer.  That has NOT been changed or taken away.  There are churches open everywhere today for prayer. I even noticed the City Hall in Belleview, Florida, will be open today for prayer!  People are joining their hearts in prayer around the country through online sites, prayer chains, and as a unified body, lifting their voices in prayer and praise to our God, for He alone can forgive our sins and heal our land!  There is no other god who can do this.  There is no form of government, no king, no potentate anywhere in the world who can do this.  Do not expect any human to be able to heal our country of its woes and problems.  That is not possible, no matter how intelligent, charismatic, or seemingly powerful a person or governmental organization may appear to be.  Almighty God, Jehovah, Yaweh, is the only omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Diety who has this capability. 

Kings and princes and other potentates may think they can destroy our nation and our faith, but they are soon going to realize that they are sadly mistaken.  Here is what God says in Psalms 2:1-12

"Why do the nations rage and the people plot a vain thing?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together,

Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,

'Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.'

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;

The Lord shall hold them in derision.

Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,

And distress them in His deep displeasure:

'Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.'

'I will declare the decree:

The Lord has said to Me,

"'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance,

And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

You shall break them with a rod of iron;

You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.'"

"Now therefore, be wise, O kings;

Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

Serve the Lord with fear,

and rejoice with trembling.

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,

and you perish in the way,

when His wrath is kindled but a little.

Blessed are all those who put their trust in HIM."

Jesus taught His disciples how to pray in the following manner:

"Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil:

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,

and the glory, forever.

Amen."

Matthew 6:9-13

Why not take some time today to deliberately join with others in prayer for our nation, our government, our loved ones and friends, and for the world leaders.  There is no one stopping us from praying...this is our great privilege and our true source of power.   Let us unite our hearts together in this precious gift of prayer while there is still time.
