A Few More Clues and a Mystery to Solve

A week ago I promised a sequel to the post (click here) "Unusual Discoveries".  It is still in the making, but each week seems to be a continuation of what has been previously "discovered"...and I will just advise you to continue to stay tuned for further developments.  Here is another clue:

What does this little antique table pictured above have to do with these guest books as discussed in the previously mentioned post?

And also with these two ancestors pictured below?

Well, yes, the little antique table pictured above did belong to these ancestors...who happen to be my husband's maternal grandparents.  Actually, his grandfather built that little table...and it was used in their home for many years for something very special. And now it seems to have come full circle...

But I think I will leave it there for now and let you keep guessing.  Let us just say that God is still putting this all together...something for His honor and glory and our joy and blessing...and hopefully for the joy and blessing of many others in the days and years to come.

Honestly, I can't tell you the whole story yet because it is still being written.  Not by me; but by God Himself.  I am just the innocent (and sometimes stubborn) bystander and scribe as the story unfolds.

"Then He (Jesus) said to them, 'Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.'"
Matthew 13:52

Have you ever noticed that verse before? I had never seen it until this morning during our time of Bible Study...here...in our home...(another clue?).  And this particular verse wasn't even one of the ones being read...but it was on the tail end of the passage we were reading (Matthew 13:36-50), and I kept reading ahead and saw this verse and it really struck me as being a part of God's message to me today.

I will tell you that I was having a struggle this morning between my flesh and personal sacrifice of energy and time and my spirit and personal joy in what God was planning to do with my energy and time. I almost let my flesh win...and that would have been a huge loss for me and for others. Thankfully, God won out...because He had some true treasures of things new and old that He wanted to get across to me (us).

I will also tell you that this may go down as an example of "Closed Doors and Open Windows"...but we will have to wait and see just how.

Have I given you enough clues to whet your appetite for the rest of the mystery? I hope so...because I'd love for you to come along with me on this adventure and find out exactly what God is up to...right along with me.  I am still walking along by faith and not by sight...letting God lead the way one step at a time. So you will have to travel with me to reach our destination.  Hopefully we will all end up in a very positive place of joy and blessing.

Again, I say, stay tuned for further developments!

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field."
Matthew 13:44

(not trying to mislead you here...not planning on buying or selling anything...at least not that I am aware of at the present time...)

That's all for now!  Keep praying...and come back again soon.  Maybe you'd like to sign my guestbook!

    1. Yes...life is ALWAYS an adventure with God at the helm. I can't wait to see where He will lead in all of this as well. I think I understand...and then I am not totally sure...He may see things differently...so...like I said...stay tuned!

    1. Thank you Dianna. God always leads us into good things...we just don't always know which good thing or how He will choose to complete the journey...but I am happy that you are along for the ride! It will be fun to discover this together!

  3. Hi Pam! I am so bad at mysteries, I never know what's going on! But I'll take in all these clues and follow along as best I can.
It seems to me that sign-in book and little table would be a bed and breakfast? Or a way to remember visitors? (See what I mean? LOL!)
    We shall see :)

    1. Well, Ceil, don't feel like the lone stranger...I sometimes think I have things all figured out and then God makes a right turn or a detour or takes us off on some little known back road to get us to where He's leading...but that is all apart of the fun of the journey of faith. We just have to keep our eyes fixed on Him and stay on course as He directs. Thank you for coming along with us. Your guesses are good, but I'm not sure if that is it yet...but you never know what could develop! Have a blessed day and come back again soon!

  4. Pam: Are you planning to open an antique shop? One that would draw people from other states and they sign their names and where they are from? Or how about a newspaper column on antiques? This has me intrigued.

    1. I know I responded to this last night, and now it is gone, and so is another comment. Not sure what is happening, but anyway, Cecilia...your idea is unique and one that had not occurred to me...but it sounds like fun. No, I think God is doing something a bit different than that...at least I think He is. But you never know...so stay tuned.
