Tuesday 4 ~ It's March!

It's March!

Welcome to Tuesday 4 begun by Toni Taddeo.
It's March and it might be nice to talk a bit about it.
The year is going by quickly....

1. March comes in like a lamb and goes out like a lion. How has it made it's debut in your area?
It's been a bit windy and rainy, and this morning it's foggy!  Pretty much typical March weather for us here in north central Florida. It's also been getting up in the 70's each day, with lows in the high 50's/low 60's.  So not too bad at all.
2. Is St Patrick's Day something you observe?
Only in the sense that it's a fun day to wear green so I won't get pinched, and maybe use a bit more green in my decor.  Although we are part Irish, (mostly "Scotch-Irish, English, and German") it was never something that was a big deal for us.
3. Do you observe Easter?
Most definitely!  Easter is THE most important Holy Day for all Christians.  Without Christ's atoning sacrifice for our sins, we would all still be lost in our sins with no hope of heaven.  But Jesus said in John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
And also in John 11:25 Jesus said:
“I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

And then this passage in Luke 24:5-6
“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!"

And that is why we celebrate Easter!  It's not just about the Easter Bunny and the colored eggs, although those are the fun aspects of celebrating the resurrection and new life that Easter represents. But without recognizing the true meaning of Christ's Resurrection from the dead, Easter would be meaningless.

4. What will those holidays see you doing this year?
Well, St. Patrick's Day will probably find us doing the usual routine, but wearing green!
Easter will see us going to church, and our choir will present our Easter musical cantata entitled:
And after church we will come home and have a traditional Easter dinner, but so far that's all I know...we haven't gotten that far in our plans.  Oh, and we also have the great family Easter Basket hunt. We hide the whole basket here at our house, not just the eggs!  It's getting more difficult to find suitable hiding places as these "kids" are too smart for the old "Easter Bunny". LOL. But we have a lot of fun with it and that's been our family tradition since I was a little girl.  Here's a blast from the past:
I'm the little redhead on the front row, next to my beautiful mother. On the back is my sister Doris, brothers Clifford and Russell and my Daddy.

Okay, that's it for today! Hope you have a wonderful MARCH and Easter season!

  1. Hiding the entire Easter Basket -- now that's a clever way to do it!

  2. I miss being in Easter cantatas or programs. Always so moving. I sang second soprano and my mother always sang tenor!
Thank you, Pam, for your sweet comment on my blog regarding Alan. So precious and they were a comfort to me.

  4. Happy March!
Yes to what you said about Easter!
St Patricks is a fun day, we don't really do anything to celebrate either, other than avoiding the pinch.
Love that family pic - look how cute you were!

  5. You are so right about Easter, Resurrection and our loving Saviour! I do miss singing in the cantata at church, but they don't do them anymore around here. My Mom and I were both alto's and my sister sang soprano.
I can imagine the fun of the entire family looking for a basket of eggs!
Our March has been very lamb like so far except for strong winds. There are no complaints about the temperature. Sixties and nightimes in the 30's and 40's. It's been perfect!
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  6. sounds like a fun Easter basket hunt. mama always hid eggs before we went to church and my brother and I would go out after we were dressed in our finest and gather the eggs to eat after we came home from church. she took a few photos but back then cameras were not used often due to the cost. Baptist preachers in small churches could barely feed the family on the pay. no Saint pat celebrations but my dad and his family are all from Irish way back.. mother was scottish. which makes me the wild Scot/Irish child

  7. Thank you for joining in! I almost forgot all about Tuesday 4 this week and threw it together just minutes before I posted it. Its been very cold nights and 40-50 in the day. But I am no fan of this time of year. Spring to me is Laodicea.. neither hot nor cold and very wishy washy. My family will be in Italy for Easter time and my sons both go with their wives families so I am alone this year. I will have my friend, who is also alone, over for a meal. Hope your Tuesday is going well. Weather here is rainy for the next several day.

  9. AMEN to Easter being the Most Important Day!
I remember your previous nods to the great Easter basket hunt. Such a great idea, and I can't wait to see what you've up your sleeve for this year!

  10. Without Christ as the perfect Passover lamb, we would all be truly lost. He carried the sins of the world on the cross and rose again on the third day that all who believe in Him may have life everlasting. May we praise Him forever for His sacrifice, mercy and abiding grace. Amen.
    Blessings.

  14. Hi Pamela, you made me think of the Easter egg hunts we had at the park with our church. The best ones were in our grandparents backyard with all the cousins. That is a great picture of your whole family at Easter. My mom was always the one that took the pictures.

  16. Nice blog…my family so spread out now. I live near the causeway to Honeymoon Island…on the Gulf…daughter is here often from Indy. We walk on the causeway…I thought great place to hide eggs but we do it at my son’s home…behind my street…Caldesi Island where they go on the boat or kayaks would be fun also. All of this in my back door. We almost always have a breeze here. A granddaughter coming soon. We almost own Allegiant Air and Uber. Lol Brenda

  17. Easter is a good time to celebrate that Jesus left the grave alive! Hallelujah! I know people enjoy candies and desserts and food in celebration in the spring. I like what you shared. We've had some wind with rain and above freezing at night. Low 50s during the day. Flowers and some tress are blooming now. 😍 hope you have a blessed week 🙏 ✨️ Becky
