I didn't get around to writing a post yesterday for Easter Sunday. It was a full and happy day...rejoicing in the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...attending Sunday School and church, where our choir presented the Easter Cantata "The Power of the Cross". Here is a video of the dress rehearsal. We aren't professional or perfect, but if you listen to the whole message of the musical, you will find the marvelous Easter story from start to finish. I hope you will be blessed by this presentation.
After church we came home and prepared our Easter Dinner. What a marvelous blessing to have our whole family together for the first time in many years...well, with the exception of our precious son Matthew, who is in heaven, and his wonderful wife Nicole, who still lives in Maine, but to have their dear son Noah and his sweet fiancee' Dawn with us (for the first time) was a gift that was greater than anything I could have imagined. And then Benton and Rose found theirs...
And last but certainly not least, Scott found his...
They had a bit of a scary adventure today...somehow the colts got separated from the parents, and the parents went flying up into the air to go look for them...and then we noticed the two colts walking across the street and headed back over here to the pond. The crazy goose who likes to stand out in the middle of the road was there, and he literally stood in the middle of the street to block traffic until the smaller colt, "Val", made her way across the road safely. I didn't get a picture of that, but I sure wish I could have. This is another picture of him. He is kind of a loner, abandoned by his siblings for most of the day and he hangs around the yard and often walks down the road or just stands there until cars have to honk at him. I guess he likes to just "honk" right back at them. He is a very strange goose, but today he was a hero. Never underestimate the 'strange gooses' in your world. They just might save your life some day!
Anyway, a little later the Mom and Dad crane came flying back over to Still Waters Pond and reunited with their two lost children. All's well that ends well.
Oh that hero goose such a nice story. We have not seen our family since last week but I hear them across the pond I do hope they return
ReplyDeleteI’m so happy for you to have your family together like that.
ReplyDeleteI love that your grands got to spend Easter with you this year! Great photos of everyone. Scary about the colts escaping from the parents and funny that Mr. Goose was the resident crossing guard! The colts are growing fast!! Have a blessed week, Pam!! xo
ReplyDeleteI know that having your grandson there was joyous. We mamas love nothing more than our little chickadees to be gathered around the table.
ReplyDeleteI smiled and smiled at this post. First the photo's of your lovely family. (I love Scott's t-shirt!) Then how the crazy goose watched over those sweet babies. They sure are getting tall.
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful Easter morning at church. Sunrise service, a delicious breakfast and the the normal service. Lots of visitors and hearing the resurrection story again had me literally in tears. I did the same at our Good Friday service. For some reason this year it really touched me. Well, it always does, but this year things seem so different in the world. The evil seems to be getting closer and more real to Christians. The salvation promised by Jesus is such an amazing gift. No matter what this world dishes out to us, we have Him as our Lord and Saviour. We're so undeserving but yet He loves us so.
Hoping your Tuesday is a wonderful one my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy
An Easter basket hunt, I love that idea! I might steal that next year! Those cranes are so beautiful. what a joy that they're a part of your family in this season.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me so happy to see Noah and his fiancée, smiles.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Easter you had! Such a truly wonderful surprise having Noah and Dawn there with you. Blessing upon blessing!
ReplyDeleteSo overjoyed for you, Pamela, that Noah and Dawn were on hand to celebrate Easter with you all! That's a blessed time, for sure.
ReplyDeleteI hope those colts will learn to behave themselves better. Thank goodness for Mr. Goose! It is amazing how animals will bond at the most unexpected times to help each other in times of trouble.
Blessings!
(All) you kids sure know how to have a good time! I wish we'd thought to bring Easter baskets along to Troy's ... won't you remind me next year?
ReplyDeleteThat close call with Val and Pat must have had your hearts racing. (Mine, too!) Oh, the way in which that goose saved the day! Isn't the animal kingdom grand? Rejoicing!
Pam: You had a nice Easter Sunday. I know you are thankful for that, I love the story about the goose standing in the road until Pat and Val got across to safety. Peace and blessings to you and yours.
