Welcome February! The "Love" Month!

Welcome February!

It's time for hearts

And flowers...

No matter how small or seemingly insignificant,
they each have their own special kind of beauty...
Kind of like people, huh?

And it's time for changing the calendars to a new month...(and I also finally changed the background of my blog...did you notice? Nothing fancy...just a little  color change for a while.)

(My Tea-Time Calendar always has lovely things to look at...
Thank you to my sister Doris for always remembering to give me this
as a Christmas gift for the new year!)

Perhaps where you are it still looks a lot like this:

President Abraham Lincoln, whose birthday we will celebrate later this month, had some wise advice:

As I look around my house I think things are already looking a bit like Valentine's Day is coming...

It seems like Valentine hearts, roses and tea time all remind us of this season for love...

Even "Pinky Flamingo" is sporting a red bow in honor of the Valentine Season...

Hearts are stretching out to spread the love all around...

Hmmm, this looks familiar... (testing...did you read my last blog post?) LOL.

Even these candle holders seem to be sharing a special message of love with us:

"Live as though heaven is on earth"; "Love Always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres"; "Laugh...Laughter is the shortest distance between two people."

Sounds like some good words of wisdom to me!
Especially that one about Love...kind of reminds me of something I read somewhere else...
Oh yes...I found it:

I Corinthians 13:7-8a
"(Love) bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things;
Love never fails."

I think we should rename February the "Love" month, because it just seems to fit the theme everywhere we look!  I don't think there's any harm in that, do you? We sure could use a lot more love and a lot less strife in this world.

So, let me be the first to wish you and yours a

And remember this:

"Now abide faith, hope, love, these three;
but the greatest of these is love!"
I Corinthians 13:13

You help me to realize that it's okay to enjoy the fun things in life and in our homes. We are kindred spirits in that regard I do believe!! Happy "Love Month" to you and Tom.

  3. The Love Month . . . I love that, Pamela! And I'm with Barbara with the quote from Abraham Lincoln - there is always, always good in things if we open our eyes to the possibilities.
    Blessings, my friend!

    1. Thank you, Terri! Happy "Love" Month to you too! My wreath is one of those creations that I am not too sure about, but it will have to do. I just make it up as I go along with whatever I have to work with. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I am happy you love it!! Thank you.

  5. Love the quote by Abraham Lincoln! February is a big month for us. Not just Valentine's Day, but our daughter's birthday (she will be 30 this year) and our anniversary (#34 this year).

    1. Wow, Happy 30th Birthday to your daughter, and congratulations on your 34th anniversary! That is wonderful! February is a special month for us too. My hubby will have his 72nd b.d. on the 16th. Our middle son Matthew, would be turning 47 on February 25th, but he will be spending it in heaven, where he has been since he was 41. Not a day goes by that we don't miss him and think of him, but we know he is celebrating every day up there and we are so happy for him. Someday we will all be together again forever and ever. Thank You, Jesus!! So, even though February has some bittersweet moments for us, it is still a wonderful month.

    1. Oh thank you for these kind and encouraging words! I so love to "make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold!" We used to sing that in Girl Scouts when I was young, and I find that blogging is a wonderful way to make new friends and keep the "old", and eventually even the "Silver" friends become "Gold". Have a blessed and beautiful Sunday and week.

  8. Today, I attended an ecumenical women's meeting. One lady gave each woman who was there a box of chocolate covered cherries. Then the president distributed little zip-lock plastic bags with pieces of chocolate and a roll of smartees candy. This cheered me up.
God has been good to us her in Indiana. We had a record braking temp in Indy yesterday- 63 degrees. Usually, by this time of year I yearn to see "brown grass." Because, by now I a tired of seeing the snow. Thank you for th peek into your home to see a festive look. Peace and blessings.

    1. What fun to get the box of candy, etc. That would definitely cheer me up too, esp. the chocolate covered cherries! I can't eat too many of them, but I do love them. So happy you are having warmer temps. I hope they stay and that the groundhog was right this time. Thank you for "peeking" in my home! You are always welcome! Peace and blessings to you too.
