He stretched out his neck as if to say..."Well, if you must take my picture, at least let me stand up tall so you can see me better!"
Something else that is flying around in our back yard is this "lovely" rooster sitting on top of the weathervane... (if you can call a black iron rooster lovely, that is! LOL! At least he doesn't crow every morning and wake us up at the crack of dawn!)
The weathervane was actually an anniversary gift that we bought (with gift money) for our Golden Wedding anniversary last August. (Hence the gold decorative balls on the post). Our intention was to perch it atop a cupola on the top of our new shed. (see the Pinterest picture below to get the idea.) ⇓

On another note, Valentine's Day and my hubby's birthday is coming and we will be having some company for lunch actually two days in a row...tomorrow some dear friends from our previous home neighborhood (and our home Bible Study we had there) are coming and actually bringing the food! We are really looking forward to seeing them.
And then on Friday my sister and her hubby (from the Orlando area) and my brother and his wife (from Charlotte, NC) are coming for lunch...and we will celebrate my hubby's birthday and also my sister in law's birthday is coming up next week so we will celebrate her birthday too. So this will be another very special day. We don't get to all be together very often! We are thankful to still be able to do this since we lost our oldest brother to leukemia last year. These times together are very precious.
These tulips were so pretty at the store today, so I just had to bring them home to decorate the table.
It will take some time to get things green and pretty as this home never had any kind of landscaping or flowers before. Seems like that was what I had to do at our last home too, and then I left it all there. So now we are starting over again little by little.
We give thanks to the Lord for providing this lovely dwelling place for us. Yes, there is always work to do to maintain a home and help make it attractive. But the most important thing is to always remember to honor and praise God for how He has blessed us...and to use this home for His glory.
I just love the Weather Vane, Pamela. Happy Birthdays all around! Blessings for many more, smiles.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the prayer and I will say Amen (all God's people say...Amen. My husband likes to say that after we say prayer.)
Amen! We always say "Amen" after every prayer...that shows that we agree with what is being prayed and that we are praying it together! And yes, I like the part, and "All God's people say Amen!" Thank you for joining in today. Hope you are doing well and staying warm!!
DeleteThose tulips are just what your table needs for special company coming! Very pretty! Your new home is beautiful and that blue paint on the trim really pops!! Yes, it takes time and work to make it yours but you guys have done that and more, I think! Have fun these next two days!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Terri. I am looking forward to all the folks coming. There will be even more next week, and then I will be through entertaining for a while...
DeleteThank you for liking the blue paint! It does pop, and at first I was afraid it popped a little too much, but now we are used to it and love it. It makes me smile when I come home. Hope you have a blessed week and Valentine's Day tomorrow!
Oh how I enjoy my visits to your blog! Your pictures are beautiful and your words have a way of giving encouragement . Have a wonderful time with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Ruth. That is the best thing I could hear, that you enjoy your visits here, and that your are being encouraged when you visit. That is my prayer as I write and share what the Lord lays on my heart. I want this "open window" to be a place of peace, joy and blessing, for my friends here in blogland, and for all you actually come here to visit in person. May your day be blessed. Enjoy all that beautiful white snow that you have. Your pictures are marvelous!!!
DeleteGod bless you today, Pamela. 😊
ReplyDeleteAnd may God bless YOU today as well, Sandi!! :)
DeleteHappy Birthday all around! It will look so good once everything grows and blooms and this time next year it will be different for sure. I love the pictures of your new home.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. I hope you are right. We just need to get some dirt out there and some of our young men to do some digging and planting for us. I can't do that anymore and hubby shouldn't do too much either. But by hook or by crook we'll get those things planted!! I just need to keep them watered! Send your rain down here, please?! Thank you! Hope you are having a good day. (((hugs)))
DeleteI love that weather vane, and am so glad to know you have company coming - what fun! Yes, Happy Birthday to John and company, too!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Pamela.
Thank you, Martha. It has been a little windy this afternoon and we got to see the weather vane in action! It works! yay! Thinking of you and hoping you are doing well.
DeletePam I so love pictures of your pond and all the creatures you capture. I think I'd never want to go inside if I lived there. Hope you have a great time with your friends and family and happy birthday to your hubby and SIL.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
Thank you! We do truly enjoy living here, although it does get pretty sunny and warm out on the deck in the afternoon and we have to close the blinds for a few hours until the sun moves further around. I hate to do that, but I guess it can't all be perfect all the time! We did have a wonderful visit today and looking forward to more tomorrow. I'm trying to relax in between! but our company is the good kind that brings food and helps clean up after! What a blessing!!! Thank you, and you have a great weekend as well.
DeleteI always enjoy visiting your blog. I like the weather vane. Can you see it from the inside of your house? Enjoy your company. I know you will enjoy your siblings visit.
ReplyDeletePeace and blessings.
Thank you, Cecelia. Yes, you can see the weather vane from inside the house. I love watching it move in the wind! I love having you visit here. Please come again soon! Yes, I am looking forward to my siblings coming tomorrow. We will enjoy every minute I am certain! We are thankful to still have each other! Blessings to you today too.
ReplyDeleteYour new home is looking so pretty with all the work you've done! Love the blue shutters! And the weathervane is special. Of course it's neat to see the Blue Heron too! Happy birthday to your sweet hubby! Give him some birthday hugs from all of us and enjoy your company! Hugs, Diane
