Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!
What Do You See Outside YOUR Open Window Today?
Remember: "When God closes a door, He always opens a window!" You never know what might be out there waiting for you!

Jesus Is Coming Soon!
I woke up this morning with this song in my head:
Jesus is Coming Soon!
And I prayed that what I was hearing in my head was actually a message that Christ's return is truly imminent. I know that those who are believers in Jesus Christ are also eagerly awaiting His return...but there are many who will scoff and think we have gone off our rockers to be saying this.
My prayer today is that we would each be sure that we are ready to meet the Lord in the air at any time. Whether He comes to rapture His Bride, the Church away, or if He calls for us individually to come on home, we need to be ready. The trumpet could sound at any moment.
Here is a link to many Bible verses that speak about Christ's return:
I know there are some scholars who will say that all of the prophecies concerning His return have not yet been fulfilled...and that may be true...but we do not know the exact hour that Christ will come to rapture the Church away before the beginning of His literal reign on the earth...before the Great Tribulation...so we need to be ready.
Jesus was not willing that any should perish...
2 Peter 3:8-10(KJV)
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
So we need to be ready!!
These photos are of the Swallow-tailed Kites that have come back to nest in our neighborhood. I have seen three so far...not sure if there is a 4th one, but seeing them gliding through the air so smoothly makes me think about the day when Christ will call for us to meet Him in the air...
Here's another old hymn: "What If It Were Today?" This video has the words, but just with the accompaniment and no singers...so if you know the song, you can sing along.
Okay friends...I've shared what the Lord laid on my heart to share with you today. I pray that each of us is truly ready for Christ's return!! What if were today??? Would you be ready? I pray that your answer would be a resounding YES!!
I had a dream recently where I was in an apartment packing things to move out. It was similar to an apartment I lived in during college, not the house I live in now. Anyway, everything was fitting into two boxes perfectly. Each thing had its own place, unlike real moving. I heard a shofar blow. It seemed close, so I went outside to see who was standing out there blowing a shofar. As soon as I got outside my eyes were drawn up and there was a dark green and red spiral in the sky. There was a pure white plus sign shape in the center of it which quickly came into view as a pure white perfect cross. "Oh, it's time," I knew. I turned to a lady next to me to tell her, but she had no interest in looking up. That was it. It was time on an ordinary day. As I read this post yesterday I thought about the upcoming move you are planning and for a brief second entertained the thought what if your move is different than you imagine. I don't know why I didn't type this yesterday! :-)
This is purely as I see it: Those unfulfilled prophecies are being filled at an accelerated rate. I agree with you that I'd rather be off my rocker for Jesus than to be living without him and get left behind. Peace and blessings.
I think we have to live as if every moment could be our last. Working in a hospital and seeing things happen makes me realize that we are but a breath here on earth. Blessings to you. I love that song, too, by the way....xoDiana
Yes, Pamela, praying to be ready when Jesus comes again. Thank you for sharing your thoughts here today, and the excellent photos of the swallow-tailed kites. So graceful! Blessings!
Isn't it wonderful to wake up with a song in your heart! I love the song the Lord gave you, and yes, I agree, His return is soon, very soon, and I am looking up every day, waiting and watching for HIM! In an hour we think not :) Enjoyed your post today, and I will be humming that song as I go now, blessings to you sweet friend!
I hope I am ready because I agree it seems the end-times may be coming sooner than we think. Thanks for sharing what the Good Lord put on your heart today!!
Pam, thank you for sharing this message placed on your heart by the Lord. In my study of end-time Scriptures (and schools of thought), I believe the pre-trib rapture of the Church isn't accurate--though I'd love it to be accurate.
Nevertheless, it's good to be aware and always ready because the pre-trib rapture could be true.
Thank you for visiting here today. I would love for you to sign my guestbook and let me know you stopped by. I always enjoy reading your comments and words of encouragement! May you be blessed as you go on your way. Please come back and visit again soon.
They already think we are off our rockers... ;-)
ReplyDeleteYes, that is probably true...but I'd rather be off my rocker for Jesus than to be left behind without Him.
