Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!
What Do You See Outside YOUR Open Window Today?
Remember: "When God closes a door, He always opens a window!" You never know what might be out there waiting for you!

"You Ain't Seen the Last of Jesus"
What a great day in the Lord today! Although it has been a rainy day all day long, it did not dampen our spirits as we went to church and worshiped the Lord and had fellowship one with another in God's house.
Here is the song our choir sang today, followed by the Pastor's sermon from Luke 24:13-49, about Jesus on the Road to Emmaus, which I previously shared with you last week, but you will enjoy this sermon about that special walk on a country road...
But first, I hope you enjoy the song, "You Ain't Seen the Last of Jesus, I know He is Alive!"
"One early Sunday morning Mary went to the garden tomb
Surprised to find the body of her Savior had been moved.
An angel stood before her and said, “Jesus is not here!
Three days He laid in the mortal grave, but Mary don’t you fear!”
You ain’t seen the last of Jesus, I know He is alive.
He shattered Satan’s victory when death He did survive.
You will see Him in His glory right before your very eyes,
You ain’t seen the last of Jesus, He’s alive!
On the day of His ascension Jesus went to complete His plan
And you may say that I’m foolish to believe He’ll come again.
But I’ll still hold to the promise that He’ll return some day.
Go on and doubt but I’m gonna shout, He is on His way!
You ain’t seen the last of Jesus, I know He is alive.
He shattered Satan’s victory when death He did survive.
You will see Him in His glory right before your very eyes,
You ain’t seen the last of Jesus
You ain’t seen the last of Jesus
You ain’t seen the last of Jesus, He’s alive!
He’s alive! He’s alive!"
And also during this service today we had the great joy and privilege of seeing our kids Benton and Rose become members of our church:
And then we extended the right hand of Christian fellowship to them and the other gentleman who also joined today.
Well, actually, because of Covid restrictions, we couldn't do the normal routine of having everyone come and shake their hands, but as you can see it is hard for us to stop ourselves from doing what is in our hearts to do. This is our dear friend "Norma", who I told you about once before. As you can see, Norma still exemplifies Christ to us. I told you in that previous post back in December that I wanted to be more like Norma, who is more like Jesus...and now you can see what I mean. She just can't stop reaching out to share her love of Jesus with everyone.
It's as if she really believes what the song said that the choir sang today:
"On the day of His ascension Jesus went to complete His plan
And you may say that I’m foolish to believe He’ll come again.
But I’ll still hold to the promise that He’ll return some day.
Go on and doubt but I’m gonna shout, He is on His way!
You ain’t seen the last of Jesus, I know He is alive.
He shattered Satan’s victory when death He did survive.
You will see Him in His glory right before your very eyes,
You ain’t seen the last of Jesus
You ain’t seen the last of Jesus
You ain’t seen the last of Jesus, He’s alive!"
And guess what? I really believe that too!
"Go on and doubt, but I'm gonna shout,
He is on His way!
You ain't seen the last of Jesus,
I know He is alive!!"
I hope you believe that too!!
Have a blessed and wonderful Sunday!! He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus lives today!! Amen!
What a beautiful, giving church you all have created! And how wonderful your children now belong, too. The homily at our Vigil Mass on Saturday also touched on the Road to Emmaus!
Thank you, Holly. Yes, we love our little church. For a small church they do a lot of special things in this community to help others. We are very thankful to be a part of such a caring community. And yes, "the Road to Emmaus" seems to be the message God is wanting us to hear this week for sure!
I probably should have qualified that by telling that they've attended this church ever since they were married here almost four years ago this November. They are the reason WE started attending this church and ended up moving here. But they had not yet taken the step of membership, so this was a great day! We are already members, but they've been here longer!
I know He is alive, too!! Congratulations to Rose and Benton!! Wonderful!! You have a great little church and I love my little church, too. It is more intimate than some of the bigger churches where you don't know many people. I'm still a small-town girl! xo
Thank you, Terri. Yes, He IS alive!! And yes, we are thrilled that Benton and Rose are members now, even though they have attended here since their marriage here almost 4 years ago. Yes, our little church is more like family. We are so blessed to be a part of this group of the body of Christ!! I'm definitely a small-town girl!
Oh, that joyous music! It makes me want to clap right along! Yes, I remember your telling about Norma's loving spirit; not even a pandemic has quelched her sweet soul, has it? Congratulations on having Benton and Rose join your church family!
Thank you, Myra. Yes, many people were clapping when we sang it this morning. It is such a happy song. And no, I don't think anything could squelch Norma's sweet spirit! She is a real jewel. And yes, we are happy Benton and Rose finally joined the church here. They were actually married here and have attended this church for about 4 years, but just hadn't joined. So now it is official!
The song is probably more of a "southern gospel" song, made popular by the Gaithers I think...but it sure gets the message across and makes you want to shout and sing hallelujah!! He is alive!!! Have a wonderful week.
Thank you Cindy. And yes, you would love Norma. You can't help but love her. She is a beautiful Christian woman and such a blessing to our church family. We feel so honored that she chose our church to become a part of. God is Good in so many ways.
Amen!! "It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus. Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ. One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase, So bravely run the race, 'til we see Christ." (from an old song I love).
Sure enough, Pamela, we ain't seen the last of Jesus. He is alive! So happy, too, for Benton and Rose joining the church. Such a special time of celebration for your family. Blessings!
Thank you Martha! So happy that Jesus is Alive!! Praise God!!! And yes, we are very thankful for our kids becoming an official part of our church family. They've been there for a long time...just hadn't made it official. God is so good.
Thank you for visiting here today. I would love for you to sign my guestbook and let me know you stopped by. I always enjoy reading your comments and words of encouragement! May you be blessed as you go on your way. Please come back and visit again soon.
