Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!
What Do You See Outside YOUR Open Window Today?

Have You Seen Jesus My Lord?
Welcome to a beautiful Sunday! I know it is almost over already, but I've been busy with other stuff this afternoon and just now got around to this. I hope you've had a blessed and beautiful day.
To start this off right, I hope you will listen to this wonderful message and the song by our choir in the beginning.
I've copied the words below so you can sing along. I love this song so much:
Have You Seen Jesus My Lord?
Have you seen Jesus my Lord, He’s here in plain view
Take a look, open your eyes, He’ll show life to you.
The Bluebirds have returned to our birdhouse in the past few days. Not sure if they are staying or not, but I am hoping they will stay and raise their family this time.
Have you ever stood at the ocean with the white foam at your feet
Felt the endless thundering motion, Then I say you’ve seen Jesus my Lord.
(I don't have any current ocean pictures, but this is a picture of "Still Waters Pond" right now, in the middle of a thunderstorm. No foam at my feet, but lots of thunder in those clouds, and a flash of lightning now and then.)
Have you seen Jesus my Lord, He’s here in plain view
Take a look, open your eyes, He’ll show life to you.
(One of our magnificent sunsets on Still Waters Pond)
Have you ever stood at the sunset with the sky mellowing red
Seen the clouds suspended like feathers, Then I say you’ve seen Jesus my Lord.
(This kitty jumped up in my lap as we waited to go inside the restaurant today after church. He was purrrrfectly content in my lap, and I felt so blessed to be chosen by this kitty today. I found it to be a very comforting feeling holding that kitty in my lap)
Have you seen Jesus my Lord, He’s here in plain view
Take a look, open your eyes, He’ll show life to you.
Have you ever stood at the cross with the man hanging in pain
Seen the look of love in His eyes, Then I say you’ve seen Jesus my Lord.
Have you seen Jesus my Lord, He’s here in plain view
Take a look, open your eyes, He’ll show life to you.
(Our first Sunday back in our Sanctuary after a year. Easter Sunday 4/4/2021. A day of celebration.)
Have you ever stood in the family with the Lord there in your midst
Seen the face of Christ in your brother, Then I say you’ve seen Jesus my Lord.
(At our son's wedding in 2017. Welcoming my new daughter in love to the family)
Have you seen Jesus my Lord, He’s here in plain view
Take a look, open your eyes, He’ll show life to you.
(This Indigo Bunting appeared in our yard last evening out of nowhere. He suddenly appeared just as I had gone to the window to look outside. He sat there long enough for me to take a couple of pictures and then flew away and never returned. This is only the 3rd time in my life that I have seen one of these birds. It was a special gift from God last evening)
This Sand Hill Crane Family spent the afternoon on the other side of Still Waters Pond, having their dinner. This is a set of parents with a young "colt", who is just a few months old.
And this is "Mother Goose", still sitting on her nest on the island in our pond.
And here is "Father Goose" and "Mother Goose", taking a brief respite from her nest sitting, while "Father Goose" watches over her carefully to keep any intruders away.
Have you seen Jesus my Lord, He’s here in plain view
Take a look, open your eyes, He’ll show life to you.
Amen.

What beautiful sentiments...oh yes, I think the Indigo Bunting and the sweet kitty choosing you (look at the love on his or her little face!) were special blessings you received! Your church is so sweet and cozy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Holly. They were special blessings indeed. God knew what I needed even when I didn't know I needed it. That's what makes it so extra special! Blessings to you dear friend!
DeleteWhat a sweet song ... here in plain view! I pray my eyes may be washed to see more clearly.
ReplyDeleteSweet kitty! Animals are so intuitive, aren't they?
Thank you, Myra. Yes, may our eyes be washed to see Jesus in plain view. And oh, yes, that kitty blessed my heart so much. It was sitting in another chair on the porch and I sat down in one next to it and started singing a little tune. The kitty jumped down off her chair (and I thought she was going away because of my singing), and then she looked at me and jumped right up in my lap and snuggled down as if she belonged there. I was pleasantly surprised. We don't have any fur babies at our house, and I often long for something warm and cuddly to hold and love. It was a sweet few moments of purrrrfect peace.
DeleteThis is a beautiful song. Yes, Jesus seems so much nearer when I am out in nature.
ReplyDeleteYes, if we take a look around, we will see Him in plain view. We are blessed who have eyes to see Him in all of His beauty around us. It is His sweet gift to us. Have a blessed day.
DeleteJesus is in plain view if we simply keep our eyes open, Pamela. Thanks for the photos and sharing this beautiful song with us.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Good Morning Martha! We are both up bright and early today! I am so glad you enjoyed this little song. It is a fairly new favorite of mine as I had never heard it before coming to this church. The people who have gone on the "Walk to Emmaus" retreats say it is one of their songs they sing there. Makes sense, doesn't it? The men on the road to Emmaus didn't realize they had Jesus right there in plain view, walking beside them. I wonder how often we have Jesus right here beside us in plain view, and we just don't recognize Him? I am learning to look for Him everywhere...in nature, in the faces of people I meet, in the serenity of the woods or beside Still Waters Pond, or in the voices of children laughing...He's there in plain view when we take a look and open our eyes. And yes, He is showing life to us when we do. Have a blessed day watching for Jesus in plain view.
DeleteBeautifully said and photo's
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sylvia. Jesus is all around us when we open our eyes to see. Thank you for visiting. I miss you.
DeleteI'm still amazed at the Indigo Bunting! How beautiful! I'll be on the lookout. Our neighborhood pond Canada geese have little goslings now. They are so cute! Enjoy your week my friend. We sneaked in one hike over the weekend but I don't know when we'll get out again. It's raining pretty steady today! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSuch an uplifting and beautiful post. I love the words to the song and your pictures to go with it. I have never seen an indigo bunting and I absolutely love it.
ReplyDeleteYou get the nicest photos. I enjoyed them all. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Pam, and beautiful words to the song! That Indigo bird is gorgeous! I've never seen one like that before so thanks for sharing! I love, love, love the cat in your lap on the restaurant's porch! They do have the power to calm. Have a good week, my friend! xo
