Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

God: First Person, Present Tense
Exodus 3:14-15
14. "And God said to Moses,
"I AM WHO I AM". And He said,
"Thus you shall say to the children of Israel,
I AM has sent me to you."
15. Moreover God said to Moses,
"Thus you shall say to the children of Israel:
"the Lord God of Your fathers,
The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,
has sent me to you.
This is My name forever, and this is
My memorial to all generations."
We studied this in our Home Bible Study this morning. Do you realize that "I AM" is in the present tense? Therefore, God is self-identifying Himself in the first person, present tense. He is announcing to Moses and to all the children of Israel, and to US today, that He is a PRESENT GOD, in the PRESENT tense...therefore, He is ALWAYS PRESENT...ETERNALLY PRESENT....
So, my friends, if you are ever feeling discouraged, thinking you are all alone, just stop and think about what God has said. Who is He? I AM. First Person, Present tense...always present...yesterday, today, and forever...always present - eternally!

ReplyDeleteYes, and the Pharisees did not like that He was equating Himself with "I AM", God almighty...but Jesus and the Father are one! Eternally "I AM"...
DeleteThat is good to know :).
ReplyDeleteYes, it is good to be reminded when we may have forgotten, or have lost our way. "I AM" is always with us...forever and ever!!

DeleteThere are passages in the Bible that I know and have read many many times. Then one day I read them and some phrase or word stands out larger than the rest of the words. These words, I AM, are always precious to me. Thank you for the reminder. Peace and Blessings.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cecelia. Yes, I know I've read this many times, but yesterday it just lit up in my mind and heart. He is the Great I AM.
DeleteAnd what a comforting reality that is, Pamela. God is present, here and now, and with us always.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Yes, our God is always Present...He is in the eternal NOW, and forever!! Amen!!
