~~The Best Part of Waking Up~~
Well hello again! I am so glad you stopped by and I do hope you are here to join in for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
We ask 4 questions each week to get you blogging, thinking, discussing and visiting with other bloggers.
The commercial song said "the best part of waking up is Folger's in your cup".
1. What is in your cup in the morning? Tea! No coffee for me, but I do make it for my hubby every day.
2. What brand of coffee or tea is the best in your opinion and why do you think so?
Well, I prefer Lipton's tea for my everyday cuppa. But I do drink other brands and varieties when I want to have a little "tea party".
Twinings makes a lot of good teas. There are many different herbal teas and loose teas that I like to try,
but I always go back to Lipton for my morning cup of hot tea and also to make iced tea.

As far as coffee goes, hubby isn't picky, so I usually buy whichever one is on sale, Folgers or Maxwell House, and he is happy with that.
3. Where do you drink your cuppa in the morning? Do you have a nice view?
Yes, I usually sit here at my computer in the morning and drink my cup of tea while I check messages and comments on blogs, read blogs, etc., and I also can look out the window in "my room with a view" while I write. However, oftentimes it is still dark when I am drinking my cuppa tea, so I really don't see anything until later on.
4.Besides the morning, do you take little tea or coffee breaks during the day? If you are out and about where is your favorite place to get some tea or coffee? In the winter time I am more apt to take a hot tea break in the afternoon, and sometimes I do in the summer as well if I am feeling a little tired or just need to sit and relax and think about something else for a while. I usually have iced tea with my lunch.
Oftentimes I will sit here in my rocking chair in this little section of the kitchen and drink a cup of tea while cooking supper or baking cookies. That way I can keep an eye on things cooking while I relax. As you can see, I have plenty of company. LOL. Lily Grace and her friends are always ready for a tea party.
And sometimes I enjoy having a little tea party on the porch...this was a few years ago when Lily Grace and her dog Bailey and I did just that!
I may need to do this again before it gets too hot!! It would be nice to have someone join me...it's always more fun when you have someone to share this time with you. And if you'd prefer, I could make coffee for you!
As far as a place to go and get some tea or coffee, there really isn't such a place here, at least not that appeals to me. They have just opened a Dunkin' Donuts here in our little town, but it is mostly a coffee kind of place and also primarily a drive-through, although I did just notice that they have a few tables outside...but who wants to sit there when it's 90 degrees and drink something hot? Not me!
You have fun with your tea parties! Can you believe I don't drink coffee or tea? It's usually water for me.
ReplyDeleteWe went to Costco this afternoon precisely because we ran out of coffee. That's a definite no-no in the Orlando household - LOL! I sure wish I could drink LIpton tea, iced or hot, but for some reason, the tannins in tea always upset my stomach. Now, I can, and will, drink herbal tea and I do love Sleepytime, especially if I have a cold or cough. Like Mari, I drink water during the day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Pamela!
Hi Pamela, I love tea!!! I really like the vintage tins in your photos. I love Lipton black tea. I drink herbal tea in the evening, regular tea in the morning and early afternoon. I also love Earl Grey tea.
ReplyDeleteHey there Pamela. Tea is really very healthy for you (maybe its warm green tea). While I do like to drink a hot cup of tea, I rarely do. It's a cup of HOT coffee when I first wake up and then the rest of the day its water or Iced tea. Although we really like our southern sweet tea, I usually drink unsweet. You sure have some cute places to enjoy your cuppa tea and some good company as well. I noticed all of your adorable tins...Cute and cute!!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't seen all of Lily Grace's friends! So cute. I enjoy herbal teas as well as regular. So many great flavors! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy good earth tea - I like to make Lipton sun tea and keep it unsweetened. But it has to be decaffeinated now or I can’t sleep. I drink 2 cups of strong leaded coffee by 9am and nothing caffeinated after that. Enjoy the week
ReplyDeleteI don't drink coffee either but Dennis has a cup or two in the morning. Rarely more than that. I like Lipton for hot and ice tead and sometimes some fruit flavored teas too. I found a chocolate loose tea in Annapolis, MD at a tea shop I visited when Mandy lived there. It was delicious.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a lovely Monday.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
You have some wonderful tea caddies and equally wonderful spots for having a cuppa. I like the idea of the rocking chair by the kitchen bench but I don't have a space for one. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI love a cup of Earl Grey.

I only drink hot tea when I have a tummy ache, or for gas/bloating. Fennel is my cup of tea and sometimes peppermint. I grew up drinking ice tea because I was born and raised in the deep South and that is what everyone drank. for the past 20 years I drink water except for 2 to 3 cups of hot coffee, the stronger the better at wake up time. I don't drink coffee after 9 am because it keeps me wired and awake. even a few sips will do that. I should give up coffee because IBS doesn't like it, but I can't function unless I have that first cup of coffee. we use Great Value Colombian arabian DARK
ReplyDeleteI'm not a coffee or tea person though I want to like teas so badly! lol You have beautiful spots to enjoy your tea!
ReplyDelete... and oh, what a splendid view it is!
ReplyDeleteI do love your coffee/tea station, and would like to copy that if only we had the space.
I can't tell you the last time I tasted hot tea ..... perhaps one of these days you'll rub off on me?
Meanwhile back at the ranch, I'm going to brew #3 cuppa French Roast.
I do like my coffee in the morning and drink it like you do , in front of the computer. Its a great way to feel connected to my blog friends. I can see through my smuggie window at the trees and bushes and the occasional bird or squirrel flitting around. I am definitely not an early riser so I try to get several things done at the same time so I don't just sit outside, which I should really do once in a while.
ReplyDeleteDave doesn't drink any coffee so its tea for him. Liptons is the go to choice. I do like a lemon flavored tea in the evening, and we both enjoy straight ice tea..no sugar but a squeeze of lemon makes it perfect.
Love Lilly Grace and the tea parties. I miss the tea parties I used to have with my oldest granddaughters. Thanks for bringing up memories.
Sue
I prefer coffee but do like tea now and then, Pam, and would love to have a cuppa with you!! This is a fun Tuesday 4!! Hugs!! xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice collection of tea tins! My mother in law had out door ceiling fans installed on ther porch roof so she could sit and have tea on hot Miami days. She was a tough woman though and not much got her down back in the day. I like the Twinning teas and someone once gave me a Russian Caravan tea that was just wonderful. I grew up drinking only tea and I began having coffee in the morning when I had Lyme... I was falling alseep at the drop of hat. The coffee didn't help at all but, I got used to it and now I do like a cup of Powdered creamer with a splash of coffee added..hehehe.
ReplyDeleteBut at night I still love my tea. Thanks for joiniing in a give Bailey a little pat for me.
For me, tea is OK. Sometimes in the winter I'll brew a hot one but during the summer it's iced all the way. Coffee is my thing but try to keep it limited to 3 giant cups a day. Otherwise, I'm a nervous wreck. We pretty much drink the New England brand (mail order). It's very smooth. Blessings. 💖
ReplyDeleteI do love some nice tea but prefer coffee in the morning. Believe it or not, tea with caffeine will keep me awake all night. Now I drink Rooibos tea for night time drink. You have some beautiful tins for storing teas.
ReplyDeleteI only have one cup of coffee first thing in the morning and maybe a cup of tea in late afternoon or evening. Thanks, Pam, for your comment on my 603 day post. Your question about when “1” was added before the area code and number made me wonder as well, so I checked on that and added the info to the post. Bloggers teach me something every day.
ReplyDeleteYour little space in the kitchen with Lily Grace and her friends looks so cozy and peaceful. What a great place to have while you're cooking or baking. I think I would enjoy sitting there any time. I would love to join your and Lily Grace for tea♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteWe drink coffee first thing in the morning while we are waking up and remembering who we are and what we're about. We share a cup of coffee after lunch, and mid-afternoon hubby has de-caf coffee and I drink de-caf green tea. Not picky about brands.
ReplyDeleteYou do, indeed, have good company as you sit in your kitchen rocking chair!
I would love to come sit with you. I drink iced coffee with my husband but normally it is tea for me. I have so much tea. We went on the Celestial Seasoning tour a few summers ago. We bought so much tea. I hide it from my daughter hahaha...she thinks I am a hoarder. But if she saw all my tea ...hahahaha. There is a tea called Throat Cooler. If you have a dry throat or sore throat it is delicious. When it is on sale i buy a few extra boxes. I but lots of goodies from Republic of Tea too. Also love Twinings, Stash, Harneys and others. Our oldest girl has a friend from Ireland and she always makes the perfect cup of tea. With milk of course. Thank you for sharing and please continue to pray for our grandsons Brody & Blake. We are going to visit them at their house this evening. Love & Prayers to you sweet friend.
