Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat!! We were excited to see the geese arrive back on Still Waters Pond this morning...the first time we've seen them since last spring!
Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

CHRISTmas is Coming!!
If you aren't familiar with this little tune, here it is for you:
Christmas is coming, goose is getting fat
Please put a penny in the old man’s hat
If you haven’t got a penny, a ha’penny will do
If you haven’t got a ha’penny then God bless you!
Christmas is coming, goose is getting fat
Please put a penny in the old man’s hat
If you haven’t got a penny, a ha’penny will do
If you haven’t got a ha’penny then God bless you!
Christmas is coming, candles on the tree
Please hang a stocking for Saint Nick to see
If you haven’t got a stocking, a little sock will do
If you haven’t got a little sock then God bless you!
Christmas is coming, season of good cheer
Let’s sing a carol for the brand-new year!
If you haven’t got a carol, a joyous song will do
If you haven’t got a joyous song then God bless you!
Christmas is coming, goose is getting fat
Please put a penny in the old man’s hat
If you haven’t got a penny, a ha’penny will do
If you haven’t got a ha’penny then God bless you!
We are very excited to see them return, and hope they will decide to stay awhile, and perhaps at least one couple will decide to build their nest here again! Time will tell. But for now, I am considering this a Christmas blessing!!
Joy to the World, The Lord is Come!
Let earth receive her King!
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing!
The carolers are all singing and rejoicing in the Good News!
Looks like Mrs. Santa and Santa Claus are getting ready for the big day! Hey, Santa, where's your sleigh? Are you taking the train this year?
Oh, Someone hijacked Santa's sleigh and put some beautiful flowers in it, and sent it here special delivery!! What a wonderful surprise from some sweet family members!
Looks like everyone is ready for Christmas at the cabin:
Oh, there's another Santa, and he's got gifts ready to bring...
The snowmen are warming up by the fire...better watch out! You might melt!
Baby Elva and Lily Grace are enjoying the tree and the train and village...
The sleepy little village of "Bethlehem" is ready for the weary travelers...
(this is the modern day version of Bethlehem, not to be confused with the real Bethlehem...)
Lily Grace and her friends are getting ready for the Birthday Party for Jesus:
All the family at Pamela's Victorian Cottage are ready to celebrate Jesus' Birthday:
Uh, someone might need some help in gift-wrapping...Actually they are mostly done, but just waiting for Santa to pick them up and deliver them...
Yes, Christmas IS coming, and yes, there will be gifts under the tree on Christmas morning...well, maybe not exactly under the tree due to the train and village, but somewhere in the neighborhood...
And yes, there are some cookies being baked a little at a time...This is a new recipe that turned out really good...Cranberry/white chocolate chip and pecans...yummy. (found a recipe online).
Yes, all this is being done because of one very special reason,
CHRISTmas is coming!
Jesus, Our Savior and Lord...
He is coming!
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
and we beheld His glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,
full of grace and truth."
John 1:14
And that, my friends, is why we do all of this celebrating!
CHRIST-mas is coming!!
Silent Night
Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born
Silent night, holy night!
Son of God love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
From all creatures great and small here at our house to yours:
Merry Christmas everyone!!
This will probably be my last post until after Christmas, unless something else exciting happens!
So until then, have a very blessed and beautiful CHRISTmas with your loved ones and friends.
And remember,
"Jesus is the REASON for the season!!"

ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne. It was fun to do. Christmas is so much fun. Have a very Merry Christmas my friend.
DeleteYay, Christmas is almost here! Bet your place smells so yummy with all those cookies laying about. Yum.
ReplyDeleteLove & Blessings To You All. xx
Oh, yes, it smelled wonderful while baking. Hopefully Scott is going to bake some more tomorrow. He's the best cookie baker. I'm trying not to eat them all before Christmas. LOL. Wish you could come on down and join us! Maybe sometime when Linda and Dave get down here we can have a real celebration!!!
DeleteOh Pam, your home looks like something out of a Hallmark movie! My favorite's seeing Baby Elva and Lily Grace side by side. For a second, I thought that was a real puppy in their carriage! Wouldn't you know, I've only one remaining present to wrap ... and Dollar Tree hadn't any Christmas paper remaining. Thankfully, I think it will fit in a big Christmas bag. Greatest invention ever!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! that little white critter is "Boo Bear", Elva's pet polar bear. It came with her and she's held on to it ever since. Yes, Dollar General here ran out of wrapping paper really quick. Thankfully I save a lot of gift bags from year to year and just put new labels on them, as long as they aren't torn or too wrinkled. Our kids don't mind getting the same bags every year. LOL. Merry Christmas My friend!
DeleteLOVE this post, Pam! I love seeing all your Christmas pretties....the angels, the dolls, the b/day party for Jesus our Saviour, all of it. You have alot of pretty Christmas decor! Your ducks are back, that is cool! Maybe they will spend Christmas with y'all! I love that picture of Lily Grace and Baby Elva looking at the tree, that is so sweet, and they sure do look like real little girls, don't they? Your wrapping paper mess LOOKS JUST LIKE MINE....HA HA LOL!! I hope to finish it up tonight. Your little fireplace is just like ours. I LOVE OURS!! Hugs my sweet friend! PS...can I have a cookie? How bout FOUR???!! lol
ReplyDeleteCome on down and get some cookies and a cup of tea and visit with me!!! Oh I wish I wish I wish! Yes, our little girls are just loving this Christmas time. I am sure yours are too! I finished wrapping this morning, Praise God! and thanks to John helping me too or I never would have made it! Hopefully Scott will bake some more cookies tomorrow. I am out of steam. LOL. Merry Christmas my friend, and God bless you always. I loved the pictures you sent. So sweet and special...like you.
DeletePam: Those cranberry cookies with white chocolate pieces look scrumptious. Was that a "Taste of Home" recipe? I am going to try to make pumpkin bars. Last time I tried, they didn't turn out so well. Going to surprise my hubby with some blue berry muffins. I will be using a different mix. (The store did not have the one we usually get.) I love seeing your dolls and your cups. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cecelia. I found the recipe online. If you click on the link above it will take you there. Where it says (found a recipe online). Pumpkin bars sound good. I will be making a pumpkin pie, hubby's request. Maybe also a pecan pie, we shall see how much energy I have left. LOL. Have a blessed and wonderful Christmas.
DeletePS!!! your red rose and red carnation floral arrangement centerpiece is GORGEOUS!! LOVE IT
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. My BIL and SIL surprised me by sending it to me (us). I was so surprised. I NEVER get flowers like that...it was really a big surprise. The roses especially are so beautiful, and I love the sleigh. It might be something fun for Lily Grace to play with when we are finished with it holding the flowers! LOL.
DeleteYour post has definitely put me in the Christmas spirit, Pam. May you and yours have a grand celebration on Jesus' birthday!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Thank you, Martha! I wasn't expecting to see you, but am so glad you popped in for a quick visit! I do hope you will have a very blessed Christmas too. See you when you are ready to come back for a longer visit.
DeleteWe also have Canada Geese here in the area year round, but they only come to our pond during mating and nesting season, then they go back over to another bigger lake for the summer months. I am hoping they will come back and build their nest again like they did last year. Right now they just seem to be "checking things out". The Bluebirds we had last spring and summer and they had three different sets of babies! Then they all flew away. So I hope they do plan to come back again this spring or whenever they want to. They were so much fun to watch. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas too!!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post, Pam! Love the geese! Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas! Love came down!! xo
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it did..."Love came down at Christmas"...what a wonderful thought!! Blessings to you and your sister!!
DeleteYour home looks beautiful! How nice the geese came to visit. Merry Christmas. Have a great day! ♥

Everything looks so beautiful and festive in your home, Pamela. As for the Canada geese, I admit to not being a fan whenever we see them here in Nashua. Best wishes to you and John and your family for a joyful time.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family!
