Saturday Wanderings

Just a quick note to say hello this morning!  It was a foggy start to the day.

It's not too bad out there right now, (actually I just looked again and it is starting to rain) but we are supposed to start getting some colder weather again tomorrow morning.  We'll start having some high 30's for lows and mid 60's for highs for the next few days.  But then it will warm up again mid week to 50's and 70's. Typical November weather!

Oh, you might want to read what Lily Grace has to share today: https://adventuresoflilygrace.blogspot.com/2021/11/lily-grace-discovers-pilgrims.html
This will be her first Thanksgiving, and she had a lot to learn about it so she wanted to share it with you!

We are going to a potluck luncheon today at church, our monthly "Agape Lunch", which is primarily a time for fellowship and good food, and sharing God's love with one another.

"Agape (from Ancient Greek ἀγάπη (agápē)) is a Greco-Christian term referring to unconditional love, "the highest form of love, charity" and "the love of God for man and of man for God".

I am taking a new dish I found on the back of the macaroni box.  It's a "Skillet Taco Mac", but mine will be in the crockpot!  (Sorry the recipe looks a little wrinkled...I had to rescue the box from the trash! LOL)

Here's how it looks right now. I'm thinking it needs some Paprika on top for color. I'll let you know later how it tastes...

I guess that's about it for today. I mainly wanted you to know that it's a beautiful day and
I am very thankful to be here!
God is good...all the time, God is good.
I hope and pray you are having a good day today as well.
Thank you for being here too!
Bye bye for now.
Gotta get a move on or we'll miss the potluck lunch!

  1. A luncheon. How wonderful! I'll bet it was enjoyable.
It was overcast and windy this morning too. Now it's cold and windy. Bet it's heading your way.

    1. It was a good lunch...good fellowship and food. And it did rain, but not enough to dampen our spirits. Yes, I think the cold weather is headed our way tomorrow. For a few days anyway. Such is the way it is in November in Florida. Hope you have a blessed Sunday tomorrow and upcoming week.

  2. That macaroni dish looks really good! I'm curious to see how it tastes... We've had a lot of rain here lately. We're in the season where we get 9 days of rain, then a half day of sun. 9 days of rain... :( But then we turn the corner into a glorious spring!

    1. The taco mac was pretty good. We had a good potluck dinner even if it was a bit rainy today. I see you are in your rainy season. I can imagine that can be a bit dreary, but yes, you will appreciate spring all the more! Take care and enjoy every moment! Happy Thanksgiving.

  3. That skillet taco mac looks great, Pam! I'll bet it tastes wonderful and will be a perfect addition to your church luncheon. I did read Lily Grace's blog, and it was delightful. She always makes me feel like a child again.
    Blessings!

    1. Thank you, Martha. The skillet taco mac was pretty good. I needed to add a little more salt to the macaroni I think, but it was okay. We had a good luncheon and it was fun to get together. I'm glad you enjoyed Lily Grace's Pilgrim story about Thanksgiving. Yes, she brings out the "child" in me as well. Some have accused me of living in my 2nd childhood, but I don't mind at all. Life is too short to be so serious all the time!!

  4. That fog has been here in my neighborhood in recent mornings. It adds to the feeling of fall, don't you think?

    1. Yes, it does feel more "fallish" with the fog, but tomorrow we will have some real fall weather, almost like winter! For a few days anyway, then it will warm up again...typical weather for November in North Central Florida! Thinking of you these days and sending our love.

  6. Your back of the box recipe looks yummy to me. A little paprika cures the looks of everything.

    1. Thank you, Vee! I'm glad you also had a beautiful day!! I know with winter approaching you treasure every beautiful day you can! Although I remember many beautiful days in winter up there, just cold, but still beautiful! And yes, paprika does wonders. I should have taken another picture after I sprinkled it. Hope today is wonderful for you!

    1. Oh, Thank you, "Beatrice". It is so good to finally meet you and welcome you to my "neck of the woods". Yes, people getting together for good food and fellowship is always a wonderful thing to do. We've missed out on a lot of that over the last year, and we are so happy to be getting back to "normal" these days! Thank you again for reaching out to me. I am so happy to meet you.

  9. I'm loving your Thanksgiving tableau (is that the right word?), Pam! All my favorite colors in one place! That Skillet Taco Mac looks like something my Tom would love; please tell us it tasted as good as it looks?

    1. THank you, Myra. The taco mac was okay...needed more salt in the macaroni, but it was good. I'm thinking about you and your hubby today and wondering how he is doing. Been praying.

  10. Pam: That recipe sounds very good. We had snow yesterday morning. When I got out to go to church, the thermometer read 33*. It was sticking on the ground. When I came out of church two hours later the entire south side (driver's side) of my car was covered. The temperature was 40*. Had to use the ice scrapper to get the snow off the windows. Today, I looked out and saw that the snow had all melted away. It's winter in Indiana.

  11. I am late but "better late than never." What a lovely hot dish to bring to your luncheon! It's good it didn't have too much salt, since so many are on salt-restricted diets!

  12. Hi there my friend, that pot of taco mac looks DELICOUS!! we raised our kids on stuff like that. Mac and cheese, hot dogs, chili, alot of homemade "tuna helper" and "hamburger helper", and spaghetti! So we STILL LOVE foods like those! How was the lunch??? I bet your dish was a hit! Hope your week has started out great and I love the cute pictures of Lily Grace with the Thanksgiving pretties!
