Saturday Roundup and Blessings

Here it is Saturday evening, and I really don't have much to say.  Thought I'd go through some random pictures from the week and see if we can put it together into some kind of post!

This was the morning sunrise one fine morning this week!  I love how the contrails criss-crossing across the sky glow in the morning sunlight.  It was a beautiful way to start the day...

And then on another morning this past week the skies looked like this... a foggy mist above the pond in the early morning before the sun began to rise.  The lights are from cars passing on the road on the other side of those trees, driving through the fog to get to work on time.  We've had several foggy mornings this week.  It's that in between season time when it can't make up its mind if it's going to be cool and cloudy  or warm and humid.  Usually once the sun comes up it's still pretty hot and humid.

Now this is a picture of progress.  We've had road construction going on in our little town for as long as we've lived here.  They are four-laning the main highway through town, and on this particular day they were putting up some new traffic lights to change lanes from one side to the new  completed side so they can finish working on the other side.  Confused? You should live here. At least it's progress.

A week or so ago I showed you some little signs of autumn here, and today I check them out again and the little cut down maple trees are doing their best to keep growing.

I hope they will get big and tall again and let their colors glow!!

Speaking of glowing...a week or so ago I told my daughter in love that we had some good rib eye steaks in the freezer but our gas grill no longer worked so I wasn't sure when or how we were going to cook them.  Well, the very next day she and our son showed up in our driveway with this in the back of their truck.

No, it wasn't brand new, but it was as good as new, except it needed a few new parts.  My sweet DIL ordered the parts and they brought them over one day this past week too.

Today our son the grill chef put all the new parts in it and got it fired up...and it worked like a charm!

So we decided to test it with some hamburgers tonight.

I said I didn't want to ruin those good steaks on it until we were sure it was going to work good enough for steaks! LOL.

Oh, BTW, did you notice his t-shirt?  LOL.  Anyway...

The burgers turned out perfect, and so as soon as we can get together with our other kids again, (and also have enough steaks to go around for the whole family), we will be having them over for a steak dinner!

I love how resourceful our family is.  We are very blessed indeed.

Here's some food for thought regarding our children, no matter what their age:

Good Night My Friends.
May you sleep in peace.

(This is our sunset right now.  Nothing spectacular, but still beautiful in its own way.
We are blessed with God's perfect peace.)

    1. Thank you, Linda. I know you you know that I know that all our kids are favorites, even Lily Grace! And I tried really hard to find you a house here, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be yet. But never say never!! I hope you have a beautiful Sunday too, even if you do have to work. I'll be praying it's a good good day for you.

  4. Hi Pam, nothing better than grilled hamburgers! That was so nice of your son to bring the Weber over. I guess there will be signs of fall in some areas. We will be in the 90's again next week. We had a wonderful week in the 80's this week. Just a tease! I love that verse on peace! Happy Sunday!

  5. So excited that you have a "new" grill, Pamela. And those were great photos of Scott with the burgers, Mom's Favorite shirt and all. :) I loved that reflection about our children, too. We never stop loving them and praying for them no matter how old they get.
Have a blessed Sunday and a great week!

  6. Oh ya, I remember trying to drive/navigate in that fog. Frightening! Your picture of the wee maple tree brought such a smile to my face! After living in the desert SW for so many years, I'm thrilled to witness the changing seasons here. As a matter of fact, I still have the big maple leaf I picked off someone's lawn on the way to an estate sale 3 years ago!
Such a generous gift, that BBQ! And having an in-house handsome grill master, all the better!

  7. Hooray on the new-to-you gas grill! I haven't fired mine up because that was Joe's job but I really need to pull the cover off and see how it works. I know it's not rocket science! LOL Hamburgers taste so good cooked on the grill! I enjoyed all of your photos, Pam, and with you all a lovely week ahead! xo

  8. Pam: I love this story about your "new" gas grill. I always smile when I see one of your sons wearing the "I'm Mom's Favorite" shirt. We don't grill out like we used to. I love the flavor of hamburgers on a grill. Today is Sunday. When I left to go to Sunday school and church, it was nice and cool on our porch. When I got out of church, my car's thermometer registered 91 degrees. That is not a September temperature, more like July. Please and blessings to you and yours.

  9. Enjoyed your photos. Those Fall colors are so pretty. We don't see much color here in California. Glad the grill is working out for you. The burgers look yummy! Have a wonderful week.

  11. Those kids of yours are so thoughtful! What a blessing to have an almost new grill.

As for the cheeky one with the "Mom's favorite" on it, you need a "That's what he thinks" t-shirt. Ha!

  12. How wonderful the maple tree is making a come-back, sure hope it grows tall and gives you lots of pleasure. They are so pretty. That was really nice of the kids, and I love your son's shirt! My girls do things like that.
