Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

A Prayer for Guidance-A Psalm of David
A Prayer for Guidance~
A Psalm of David
Psalm 5
1. "Give ear to my words, O Lord,
Consider my meditation.
2. Give heed to the voice of my cry,
My King and my God,
for to You I will pray.
3. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up.
4. For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness,
Nor shall evil dwell with You.
5. The boastful shall not stand in Your sight;
You hate all workers of iniquity.
6. You shall destroy those who speak falsehood;
The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
7. But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy;
In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.
8. Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness
because of my enemies;
Make Your way straight before my face.
9. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth;
Their inward part is destruction;
Their throat is an open tomb;
They flatter with their tongue.
10. Pronounce them guilty, O God!
Let them fall by their own counsels;
Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions,
For they have rebelled against You.
11. But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy,
because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You.
12. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield."
Amen.
(Photos were taken early on a foggy morning this week as I walked to our neighborhood pond, praying and contemplating all the sorrows of our nation over the past few weeks, especially this past week with the rulings on late term abortion coming out of the state of New York, and then later that same day in the evening when the sun was going down on our way to choir practice at our church)
Please continue to pray for our nation, our President and our leaders. May God give our President much strength, wisdom and courage as he seeks to do what is best for our country.

These photos are stunning beyond words, Pamela. And yes, I'm still grieving, and will post something Friday about this horrendous turn of events being celebrated by what God would only deem the wicked. How fervently I'm praying for this nation that God might turn the hearts of men from this world to His kingdom! When you stop to think about it, we are now at the point when more sympathy is being shown to animals and their plight than to the precious lives of the unborn babies. Sad, sad, sad . . .
ReplyDeleteBlessings, my friend!
I am so sad over the decisions that will bring our nation down even further. The slippery slope will be harder to get back up and I am hopeful the body of Christ will humble themselves and pray that God will have mercy on us. Your pictures are wonderful with that psalm and I like the way they lighten up toward the end, out of the fog as the psalm rejoices.
ReplyDeleteAll of these photos are good, Pam, but the first one is my favorite. It illustrates so well how we feel when we are uncertain and are seeking the Lord's will in matters. Wonderful scripture verses you've shared, too.
ReplyDeletePraying for all of the above, Pam. I don't like what our nation has become and hope and pray that it can be turned around There are just plain wicked things happening. Beautiful photos!!! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI would love to sit on that bench and watch the mist begin to roll away and see the sun coming through. Such peaceful pictures, what a blessing to see it firsthand.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved this posting!
ReplyDeleteThose photos are amazing with that going, wow!
There is beauty in everything, isn't there?
Your Scriptures are perfect, thank you for sharing them with us.
Yes, our country certainly needs the prayers of the people, and our President, so much on his shoulders as he works for the good of our country.
Bless you ♡
A wonderful prayer to start the day!
ReplyDeletePam, your pictures and the words of the Psalm went so well together. I love foggy early mornings. Your pictures captured the feel of them so well. I felt like I was there with you. And, yes, we must remember to pray for our nation and our President. xx
ReplyDeleteOh my...these photos are just so awesome. I love taking photos of the fog as well...there's just something so eerily beautiful about them, isn't there? And they go so perfect with the Psalm. Yes, it is a sad day in our nation when things are happening like they are and although these things are shocking to us, none of this comes as a surprise to our Heavenly Father. Thank you for this beautiful post.
ReplyDeletePam, your ability to combine photos and Scripture is clearly a God-given ability. Thank you for sharing that gift with the world. My heart is grieved as well with the direction things are going in our country. Things are truly getting worse by the day, it seems.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
