Tuesday 4~Question Variety

I am writing this on Monday night...where we were supposed to get some rain, but it bypassed us! I heard that some people on the other side of our little town got a really nice rain, but it didn't come east toward us so we missed out. It was over 90 degrees today and very DRY. We definitely need the rain!

Question Variety

Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4
This week just a variety of little questions for you to ponder.

1. What's on TV for you tonight? Alternatively do you have plans for Tuesday night?
Tuesday nights are choir practice for me. We will continue our practices until the Tuesday before Memorial Day, and then we will take a break for the summer and start up again after Labor Day. Hubby is probably watching a hockey game on TV while I am at choir practice.  I think they are in the Stanley Cup playoffs now, and he is very much interested in that.

2. Is there a TV program you hate to miss? Why? And if not TV is there a club or activity, get together you would hate to miss out on?

I love to watch Maine Cabin Masters. Why? Well, they renovate camps and cabins on lakes or in the woods in Maine. We used to live in Maine, and I love hearing the way they talk and do things because it reminds me of Maine, which is where our son who passed away used to live, and where his wife and our grandson still live. Also, I have always wanted our own little camp or cabin retreat to go to with our family. (Not necessarily in Maine, but somewhere cooler than Florida!!) When I watch this program I see families  doing things together and they are so happy to have a place where everyone can come together and have a great time.  It's always been a dream of mine, but I'm afraid I'm running out of time and we already ran out of money. LOL.

(on the Magnolia Network)

I also enjoy HGTV Hometown, with Ben and Erin renovating houses in Laurel, Mississippi.

3. Do you belong to any clubs or societies or organizations? Odd Fellows, Elks, Moose, Eastern Star of antying like that? Can you tell us about it?
The only "organization" I belong to is our church, and I think I've told you about that quite a bit already in many previous posts.  We love our little church and all the people there. It is a warm and welcoming place, where people love one another and love God most of all. Between Sunday School and Church, Bible Studies, Choir practice and other church activities, we really don't have time (or energy) for any other kinds of clubs or organizations.

4. The internet is filled with ads. Are there any ads that you enjoy seeing or ones that you hate to see?
I really don't like ads on the internet. If there's something that needs to be looked up, I can do that on my own without the internet suggesting things to me all the time. It's gotten to the point that the internet seems to be able to read my mind and it will bombard me with ads for things that I may have looked up once  and now I can't get away from it! Ads are very distracting and annoying...so to answer the question, no there aren't any that I enjoy seeing! LOL.  I will amend that answer to say that I often enjoy some of the special commercials around Christmas, like the Publix grocery store videos and there are always others that are very touching, but I can't think of any right now off the top of my head. We really don't watch the commercials very often and usually mute them on the TV and skip through them when we can.

On another note, the Bluebirds were out there checking out the birdhouse again this evening! They still have not built a nest here this spring, which is very strange, especially with all the checking they've done of the birdhouses.  Now I'm afraid it's getting too hot!

I mangaged to get a few pictures of the male bluebird checking out the house:

Hello!
It looks like he's thinking really seriously about this...
I hope they don't wait too long and miss out!

And no, there still aren't any kittens...here's Sunshine and Blackie Sue relaxing in the shade on the driveway, which seems to be one of their favorite places to lay all day under the shade of the big oak trees.  It's nice and breezy out there most of the day, and they kind of move with the shadows to stay out of the sun.  However, we have to be very careful when we back up out of the driveway because they are sometimes too lazy to get up and move right away!

We went for a walk this morning, and our "kids" were out for a ride as they had a day off and they happened to show up in the same neighborhood with their pups in the truck.   It's always fun to see our "Grandpuppies".

I guess there really isn't much other news to report, so I will close with these thoughts for the day:

1 Corinthians 9:24-25
"24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize?
Run in such a way that you may obtain it.
25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things.
Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown."

Good Night dear friends...
Have a blessed and wonderful week.

  1. I haven't ever seen the show on cabins in Maine. I find it difficult to keep up to everything I'd like to see or do and now I've accepted that I will never have the time, lol. The bluebird is so pretty and the grandpups are so cute. Cats will be cats. They'll do what they want, when they want. I miss my dear cat but I don't have the energy to do all the things I'd need to do to look after another one. At least not right now, perhaps in future. Enjoy your week ahead. xx

  5. There are only a few shows I watch, Pamela, and they are almost all news oriented. I look forward every weekday to watching The Five and Jesse Watters' Prime Time, both on Fox. The show about renovating cabins in Maine does sound interesting, though. Hope the bluebirds won't hold out too much longer! Blessings!

  6. Good morning, Pamela.
We haven’t had cable or satellite in almost 15 years but I remember watching HGTV and enjoying it. But I’m living proof one can live without all that.
Like you are busy in our new church ( 1 year now since we’ve became members) and we’re enjoying it. Seems more like a family helping other family! Both husband and I have outside the church ministry opportunities that God has blessed us. I used to be the President of the Ladies Auxiliary at our VFW post in town and my husband stays activity with his fellow veterans! Bottomline, we go where we’re called!

I thought of something, have you checked Blackie’s nipples. If she’s pregnant you will be able to see them - they will be pink. I’d think by now, they would be showing if she’s really pregnant.

I didn’t know you all there are in a drought. I hope it hasn’t come down to mandatory water rationing yet or water price increases than never go down! We’re so blessed to have enjoyed our third year of abundant winter rains to ready ourselves for our dry summer months. It sure helps.

Take care and I hope you have a lovely week.

  7. Tuesday night we usually watch "The Curse of Oak Island" Hate the name but its fascinating search of hidden treasure from the Knight's Templer era. It takes place in Nova Scotia and is a current reality show with no bad language or suggestive things.
Tonight we are so excited because our Small Group is finally getting together again. Its been a very long time due to one couple moving to Oregon and another to Colorado and our leader having open heart surgery with a long recoup time. Every body is in town and we are having a potluck just to chat and catch up on life for all of us. That means I have a busy day ahead of me, cleaning and getting ready for 10 wonderful friends coming.

  8. How nice that you sing in the choir. We like Ben and Erin too! I'm glad you love your church. I agree, too many ads everywhere. Too many video to watch on Facebook. I liked when people just showed a photo of family things going on.

  9. The blue birds and the red Cardinals here in Florida are so pretty. I hope the blue birds settle into your home for them very soon!

  11. I love HGTV, but don't recall watching Cabin Masters. From the pictures I've seen of Maine (Tom's friend lives there part of the year) it looks glorious!
Right there with you on those annoying commercials. Not naming names, but some are so unbelievably stupid ... makes one wonder just who their target audience is. (Which in itself is pretty scary.) Anyway, I love seeing Sugar and Spice again ... such good girls!

  12. Though it was in the low 70s today, its stilll chilly at night and there aren't many birds around this year at all. I like Maine because of the smell of pine. We would drive up on our way to Prince Edward Island and we liked it a lot. Its nice that you enjoy your church so much! It's important to have a place where you belong I think. Thanks for joining in.

  13. Your grandpuppies are the cutest...I really am not a big TV watcher, but I do enjoy watching things similar to the Cabin Masters. I like Port Protection..filmed in Alaska and about what it takes to survive off the land. Commercials are so annoying and I honestly do not pay one bit of attention to them..I'm sure others are like me, so I wonder what the purpose is for them to be there in the first place. How fun to watch your little birds. I have a bluejay in the back that is driving the squirrels crazy...Enjoy a beautiful Spring day.
