Not going to let another Friday go by without some new "fotos" to share for
Friday Foto Friends. It seems like every week I get to Thursday night and gasp! "I don't have any new pictures for Friday Foto Friends!" Last week I think I had already shown you everything that was new earlier in the week...and we just didn't get out much to take anything new.
So, tonight (Thursday) I told hubby that I really needed to go find something to take a picture of! We looked out the window and noticed that the sun was just in the process of going down. We can't get any really good pictures from our house because of the trees in the way, so I kind of twisted hubby's arm and begged him to please, please, please take me for a little ride so I could get a few pictures of the sun before it sets! Bless his sweet heart, he got up off the couch from watching the TV, found his shoes and wallet and keys, and met me in the car in a few seconds! What a guy!!
So we went to the closest place I knew of where we might be able to get a few good views before it was too late. Here is the result in the order of their appearance:
This is another view of this marshy area where I was standing. A year ago this was very dry, but since the hurricane this past fall, it has stayed quite wet. This is a part of Big Lake Kerr.
This Psalm just seems fitting:
Psalm 113
1. "Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord
2. Blessed be the name of the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore!
3. From the rising of the sun to its going down
The Lord's Name is to be praised.
4. The Lord is high above all nations,
His glory above the heavens.
5. Who is like the Lord our God,
Who dwells on high,
6. Who humbles Himself to behold
the things that are in the
heavens and in the earth?
7. He raises the poor out of the dust,
and lifts the needy out of the ash heap,
8. That He may seat him with princes..
with the princes of His people.
9. He grants the barren woman a home,
like the joyful mother of children.
Praise the Lord!"
So thankful to God for His glorious sunsets and sunrises...they are new every day...no two are ever the same...because our Master Designer/Creator never runs out of new beauty to create for us to enjoy!! Yes, "Praise the Lord!"
Have a blessed and glorious day!
Breathtaking and beautiful photos Pamela. I love Sunrises and Sunset photos. You are truly blessed with a loving husband too. I love the way God's love shines in both of you.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you, Toni. That is such a sweet thing to say. I feel so humbled by that. And yes, I am blessed with a loving husband. I am truly thankful.
DeleteLove the sun's reflection in the water! Isn't our world magnificent?
ReplyDeleteOh Yes! Our world that God created so magnificently for us to enjoy!!
DeleteI am so glad he took you, those are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sylvia. It was a big "sacrifice" on his part, LOL, but he actually enjoyed the ride as much as I did...he just isn't in to photography like I am, so he's always anxious to have me hurry up and get back in the car! LOL.
DeleteBeautful! Florida does have its beauty for sure. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Melanie. I guess we can find beauty everywhere if we just open our eyes and hearts to see what God has done! Thank you for visiting. Blessings to you today dear friend.
DeleteA great big hearty thanks to your hubby for getting away from the TV to please you. Those are wonderful pics. Were you actually standing in the marshy area or on the edge? Are there gators in those marshes? I love sunrises and sunsets and agree ... each one is unique, just as all of His creation is. Psalm 113 is one of my favorites, especially verse 9. Thanks be to God!
ReplyDeleteI was standing as close as I could w/o getting wet, and yes, there could be gators in there. I have heard them before...so I was definitely keeping one eye on the ground and one eye on the sky! I also keep a close watch for bears at that time of day. Hubby was watching from a distance, "patiently" waiting for me to take just one more picture...LOL. Thank you for visiting with me.
DeleteGorgeous photos of God's gorgeous creation, Pamela! Kudos to your husband for taking you to a place where you could capture such glory in the skies.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
Thank you Martha! I will tell hubby that he is the "hero" of the Friday Foto Friends! Blessings to you and your family.
DeleteYou found the perfect spot to show to us! Beautiful, Pam. No bears, but still beautiful! ;)
ReplyDeleteThankfully no bears! It's risky business going outside around the woods at dusk...but my big "teddy bear" was there to protect me! :)
DeleteOh Pam, once again you've captured the beauty of God's creation. All of creation is to praise the Lord. Thank you Lord for Your beautiful creation!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Thank you, Kim, and thanks be to God, for His marvelous creation!! Amen!!
DeleteI've been gasping on Thursday's too, it's been hard lately to get out and take pictures. You sure managed to get some great ones, nature always makes the most beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteYes...I just have to take the time and pay attention to the beauty that is out there. God puts on His majestic display...we just have to "be there!".
DeleteA stunning sequence of photos Pamela. God certainly had his golden paintbrush out just for you :)
ReplyDeleteDiana
What a lovely thought, Diana! "God certainly had his golden paintbrush out just for you!" I love that thought. Looking back at the pictures, you are right, they certainly are "golden"!! Wow!! Thank you for helping me to see them in a new "light"!
DeleteWhat a precious hubby you have. Jack is always thinking about foto ops for FFF. Your fotos are beautiful. I love how deliberate you were to get fotos for today. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie. Little by little I am getting my hubby "trained" to be ready to stop at a moment's notice to let me take pictures. He's getting better at it...LOL. Your hubby is a sweetheart too!!
DeleteWhat wonderful photos you were able to capture before the sun went down. Then too what a wonderful hubby you have! Enjoy your weekend. xx
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, Joyful! It was a "golden moment" for sure! And I am very thankful for my wonderful hubby. God is good...all the time good!!!
DeleteI enjoyed these photos. A lovely set.
ReplyDeleteBe careful of alligators!
I spent some time with relatives who have lived in the Miami area for generations. They had a few acres on a lagoon and I would hear the gators barking. Ugh, hate them!!
Yes, I am watchful for the alligators. I know there must be some there as I have heard them but never have I seen them in that particular location. If it isn't the gators, it's the bears...always something to watch for...but God has been very kind to me and keeps me safe. (but yes, I am careful, nonetheless!)
DeleteLovely collection of photos, thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteOh my! Those are such beautiful photos. I’m so glad your hubby took you for the pictures so we could see them.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely pictures. Thank you for showing us that marsh ground. I find it interesting that it still is flooded after all this time.
