Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Miry Clay
Does anyone else remember singing this old Spiritual, "He Took My Feet From the Miry Clay"?
"He took my feet from the miry clay,
Yes, He did! Yes, He did!
And placed them on the rock to stay,
Yes, He did! Yes, He did!
Refrain
I can tell the world about this,
I can tell the nations I’m blest,
Tell them that Jesus made me whole,
And He brought joy, joy to my soul!
O my Lord did just what He said,
Yes, He did! Yes, He did!
He healed the sick and He raised the dead,
Yes, He did! Yes, He did!
Refrain
O Jesus washed my sins away,
Yes, He did! Yes, He did!
And made me happy all the day,
Yes, He did! Yes, He did!
Refrain
He died on the cross to save my soul,
Yes, He did! Yes, He did!
He ransomed me and made me whole,
Yes, He did! Yes, He did!"
Refrain
I was reminded of this today as I read my early morning devotions from Psalm 40:1-5
"I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth--
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.
Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust,
and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works
Which You have done;
And Your thoughts toward us
cannot be recounted to You in order;
If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered."
"I can tell the world about this, I can tell the nations I'm blest. Tell them that Jesus made me whole, and He brought JOY, JOY to my soul!"
That's all for tonight folks. Just wanted to tell you that Jesus has brought JOY, JOY to my soul! Amen, and good night!

What a blessing to know that Jesus has brought JOY, JOY to your soul! I love it when He reminds me of a song when we are having devotions. Some days I wake up with a song on my lips and I find those are the days that He uses that song to set the pace or tone for my day. Thanks so much for sharing the song He put in your heart!
ReplyDeleteI love how our Lord works in and through each of us...and sometimes in the same way on the same day!
DeleteI'm so glad to know that you are a "kindred spirit"! Thank you for stopping by to visit this morning! Have a blessed day...and may the Lord keep a song in your heart and on your lips all day long!
Pamela: Sometimes, I have a gospel song or a praise chorus flow through my mind. I always find comfort in these times. A lot of times, I don't know what triggers this. I treasure these times.
ReplyDeleteI believe it is God's Holy Spirit prompting us to praise. He places the song in our hearts...no, He IS the song in our hearts, and we just have to sing! It is one of the blessings of a life filled with God's Spirit.
DeleteIt is a precious time. I'm glad to know that you enjoy this also. Another "kindred spirit". Thank you for your thoughts today.
