Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Ah, cast iron skillets. Sigh. When I ordered one for my husband for Valentine's Day (telling about OUR marriage, huh?) the UPS driver said, "This is the first time in all the years of being a driver I was tempted NOT to deliver a package!" If you love them, you love them. And what could be better than cornbread in a skillet. Deep sigh.
ReplyDeleteShoot, now I'll have to go make some.
That's funny! What a Valentine's day gift from a wife to a husband! Has he made you any cornbread lately?
DeleteI hope yours is as good as mine...Ha ha!!!My special recipe works every time!
Yep, that's pretty! Now, bring on the molasses!!
ReplyDeleteWe had ours with the leftover Hobo Stew that I made the other night...had to have more cornbread to finish it up! Now THAT was good!
DeleteHaha! Love it, looks yummy and so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was! Smelled so good too. It was almost too pretty to cut and eat...but we did anyway. Ha Ha!
DeleteLove it. Yes, I agree, picture worthy. looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dawn! It was yummy, especially with our Hobo Stew that I made to go with it...I should've take a picture of that too. Next time.
Deletethat should have said "taken", not take...brain moves faster than fingers sometimes, or vice versa.
Deleteoh how funny! i did think you had a secret recipe for something so yummy!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Peggy,
DeleteWell, I could pull out a special cornbread recipe and tell everyone just how to do it step by step...but alas! I cannot tell a lie! I am a working woman, and I take shortcuts whenever I can on a busy work night! Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix isn't perfect...but it gets the job done in a hurry when I need it! And it actually did taste as good as it looked! The secret is, whatever you do, do it with LOVE sprinkled in, and it will always turn out right!
Thanks for stopping by!
