Welcome to my "Open Window"...a place of hope, encouragement, and adventure as we journey down the road from "Closed Doors" to the new opportunities God places in our pathway. I hope you will take the time to go back and follow the trail of mixed blessings and fears, failures and triumphs from the past and side-trips in the present. Perhaps it will conjure up some of your own special memories, and be an invitation for you to share with others. I look forward to spending this time with you!

Messages In Nature
Messages In Nature
If you look closely, you will see a big heart in this old oak tree.
I didn't notice it until I looked at the picture,
yet it was there all the time.
Isn't that the way it is with love?
Sometimes we can't see it because of all the clutter and stuff surrounding us...
kind of like not being able to see the forest for the trees.
But God's Love is right there...in places we don't expect to find it. We just have to step back and take a breath and look again.
When we look at the "bigger picture",
we begin to understand the message
God is trying to get through to us.
Perhaps you can help me find some other hidden messages in these pictures from more of God's creation all around us...
"He will not be afraid of evil tidings;
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
His heart is established;
He will not be afraid."
Psalm 112:7-8a
"The Lord is my strength and song,
and He has become my salvation."
Psalm 118:14
"Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him."
Psalm 37:7
"Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth."
Matthew 5:5
"But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid!"
Matthew 14:27
"Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.
And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma."
Ephesians 5:1-2
I thought perhaps these positive words from scripture might be a blessing and a breath of fresh air in the midst of a week full of turmoil and negativity. Perhaps this will inspire you to be on the look out for more "messages in nature", sent with love from God to you! Be sure to either capture them in pictures, or write them down...and share them with us so that we can be encouraged as well!
May God be with you always!

ReplyDeletethank you Nonnie. I find that God sends me encouragement from so many different directions...and especially from my friends here...and I just have to share it! It's too wonderful to keep to ourselves! Hope your SONday is a beautiful and holy day!!!

ReplyDeleteWe all needed to just take a moment for a breath of fresh air...at least I know I did. I am so glad others have seen what I see in this and are encouraged as well! Hope your SONday is a day full of blessing and joy!

ReplyDeleteOh that heart in the tree is positively delightful!
There is beauty in every photo you have shared.
Have a lovely Sunday, sweet lady~~
Thank you Debbie. I am so glad you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed discovering the connection in God's Word and the pictures...that has become a little challenge for me to see what's next! Kind of like putting a jigsaw puzzle together! I pray your SONday is being blessed and full of joy!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and I love the scriptures you chose to go with them...I did notice the leaf in the second picture was a perfect heart shape. Hope you're having a very blessed day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary! I AM having a good day...resting this afternoon, in between waiting on my MIL, who seems to want something to snack on every fifteen minutes these days. A new phase for her. Ha Ha! A couple of months ago we couldn't get her to eat hardly anything, and now she's an eating machine! But it's all good. Thanking the Lord for her good health. Yes, I love the grape leaves...they are heart shaped and make me smile when I see them. I pray YOUR SONday is blessed as well.
DeleteA very uplifting post. A friend of mine and her husband have noticed the cloud formations in the autumn sky. Yes, they did take pictures of them. I have to iron out some issues with my camera and my phone in order to take any.
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE to look at the clouds...and yes, I sometimes take pictures of them, if they don't change before I can get the picture taken! God has beauty for us everywhere if we just take the time to look and pay attention! I hope you get your camera/phone issues worked out soon!! Have a blessed and happy day!
DeleteI still can't see the heart in the oak tree, but I have faith enough to know it's there.
ReplyDeleteMay we all look for God's hand in all His works, large and small. Beautiful photos, Pamela, that both relax and inspire!
Blessings!
