Freshly washed Quilt drying in the summer breeze... |
Mingling with the scent of magnolia blossoms nearby... |
Fragrance of clean linen dried in the sunshine relaxes my mind and body... |
I'm gonna breathe deeply and let the fresh southern country living scents permeate my soul tonight...
Postscript: I have discovered that placing one Magnolia Blossom in each room provides a wonderful fragrance that is not overpowering and smells fresh and clean and lemony. If you have access to a magnolia tree, pick the blossoms just before they are ready to open, leaving enough stem to draw water, and place them in a glass or dish of water on a table in each room of your house. You will be delighted at the aroma and you will also be able to witness the blossom opening up on the second day. Blooms may last a couple of days and will then will begin to turn brown.
I never knew how delightful magnolia blossoms were until now! I guess because I never had a tree in my yard before this. Even though the seed cones are a mess to deal with once they drop on the lawn, enjoying this fragrance now makes it worth the effort later!
Enjoy!
Pam
Keep those hankies handy in case that fresh air is full of pollens! lol
ReplyDeleteOr--you can also spritz some lavender linen spray on the sheets for a real relaxer!!
The pics are beautiful! I love the magnolia blossums!
Lucky you!!
I never knew how nice the fragrance of magnolia blossoms was until today. I kept smelling them when I was hanging out the sheets, and I didn't know where it was coming from until I went over to the magnolia tree and found a blossom low enough to reach and smell! Now I'm hooked!
DeleteWonderful! I love how the greens in your home include the scene outside your windows! Just beautiful and serene. Love your header pic too, goes well with the name of your blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you Susie...I chose that color of curtains, which are Walmart bed sheets, specifically for that purpose. I love that shade of green. It is so relaxing. The header pic just kind of happened when I was writing about "Dust and Bugs, Who Cares?"...after I looked at that picture I said to myself..."Now that's Pamela's Open Window!" Finally!!! Someday we will get it all together! LOL.
DeleteI want to dive into those crisp, clean sheets! AAAAGGGGHHHHH- your fresh , clean post reminds me that I am behind in my housework...again!
ReplyDeleteDear Dawn, Housework? Did you say Housework? This was more play than work...obviously I really turned this "chore" into a way to do my favorite pasttime...writing my blog and taking pictures to go along with it. It made the "working" part seem more like a fun way to spend the day! You can't see the dust in my pictures...I made sure of that! But trust me, it's there!
