Wow! Today marks the day that I turned 3/4 of century old! I still can't believe that it could be possible that I've actually lived that long! They say time sure flies when you're having fun! Well, I can't truly say that all these years have always been that much "fun", but they have been certainly blessed.
(some of my birthday gifts!)
So many lovely cards!
And Yes! "There is always something to be thankful for!"
To finish up my birthday celebration today, we traveled an hour + to meet my hubby's brother Billy and wife Peggy and their son Nicholaus for lunch.
We arrived a little early, and parked under this beautiful old oak tree so our car would be in the shade.
I had said on the way over as we drove through the Ocala National Forest that I hoped I would see a bear...Well, I did, but not exactly the kind I was looking for, but this one is much kinder and gentler...
He even let me stand next to him and "pet him". Such a nice bear.
Anyway, that's how we "killed time" until our family arrived, and here we are actually after we were finished eating and ready to go back home:
Here's the "Steiner Bros"...
And our nephew Nicholaus finally gave me a wonderful smile for a picture. He said it was his birthday gift to me. That earned him a big hug!!! He has such a great smile and is such a great guy.
On our way back home the clouds began to roll in as we traveled through the Ocala National Forest again.
They actually were the beginnings of a bit of a rainstorm, for which we were most thankful!
I was hoping that the rain would follow us all the way back home...
But sadly by the time we got to our house, the rain had pretty much stopped and scooted around our neighborhood...again!!! Although, I must say that last night we did get a pretty good rainshower about the time we went to bed, so we are counting our blessings for that!
This was last night's sunset. Sunshine came out to watch it with me. He seems to enjoy watching the sunset, maybe because his name is "Sunshine". But also last night he was lonely because his buddy Blackie had been AWOL again all day long and the night before..., but thankfully he showed up this afternoon at "supper time". I don't know where he goes for his little jaunts, but he sure makes Sunshine and me a little sad while he's gone.
I didn't get any pictures of Blackie tonight, but I gave him a good talking to about staying away so long and making me worry! He basically just acted like nothing was wrong and headed straight for his food as if nothing had been amiss. I'm now calling him "the little stinker!"
Anyway, as you can see by these photos, Still Waters Pond is VERY still indeed...no water at all practically! If we don't get some rain soon it will be The Still Waters Desert!
However, you have to admit the sunset was glorious!
I did post these sunset pictures on Facebook last night, along with these verses. So some of you may have already seen these. I love the autumn sunsets that we get here. I just miss the reflection on the waters of the pond.
Psalm 19:1-6 NKJV
"1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
2 Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.
In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
And rejoices like a strong man to run its race.
6 Its rising is from one end of heaven,
And its circuit to the other end;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat."
Well, if you liked last night's sunset, God provided another one for us tonight! I just love to see His glory in the heavens, don't you?
Wow!!! This is better than Fireworks on the 4th of July, if you ask me!
These are God's very own "fireworks display".
And I appreciate that He put on this beautiful show for my 75th birthday! It is a fitting ending to a wonderful birthday week! I've been so blessed by family and friends and God Himself. I just want to give Him thanks for all the things He has done!
Deuteronomy 4:39
"Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the Lord Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other."
To sum up this big event called my 3/4 Century birthday, let me close by thanking God for His "part" in my creation...He IS my Creator God...there is no other! How I praise Him and thank Him for being with me from the very beginning...and He will be with me until the very end of this life, and then on into eternity!
Psalm 139: 13-18
"13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.
Isaiah 46:4 NKJV
"4 Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you."
Praise God and Amen!!
Psalm 139:23-24
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
Amen.
Happy Birthday Pamela!!!💗🎉🎈🎂💐
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Pamela. You've had a lovely celebration and really been blessed :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!! You had such a beautiful array of love and gifts. What beauty those sunsets bless us with. Thank you for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! It looks like a lovely day and looks like you were celebrated well. The sunsets were gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI'm not too far behind you - I'll be 65 in a few months. You really don't look 75!
Happy birthday, Pam!
ReplyDeleteHappiest 75th to you sweet friend! Such beautiful gifts from the Lord in so many different ways!! Blessings upon Blessings! Praying your Stillwater Pond gets some rainwater soon to fill it up, but not too much, just enough! Love and hugs!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why my comment was published anonymously! This is Marilyn from MountainTopSpice.
DeleteHappy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great day, 🎂 birthday girl!! So glad yall got to meet up with family to eat out! The clouds looked like that here today too, I kept commenting about them, we ran errands, went to the market and I sat in the dentist chair for quite some time. And then I was out in a farm field making pictures for awhile! Lol, it was a busy day. Glad Blackie IS HOME! 😺 I don't think I've ever seen the POND SO LOW, yikes!Your birthday sunset was just beautiful, LIKE YOU!
ReplyDeleteHappy 3/4 of a century!! I am glad you got to be with a bear for a little while anyway. The photos of the sunset are lovely. I wonder if Blackie has another home.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! You got some marvellous sunsets and smiles from your family members for your 75th! I used to have a cat that would disappear. Once she disappeared when we went out of town. She was gone for weeks and I thought we'd lost her. One day in the pouring rain she came meowing at the back door. I don't think cats ever forget their home even when they are far, far away.
ReplyDeleteAwesome sky's, sun and clouds, for your birthday. Happy 75th. so glad Blackie cam back. Sunshine is precious, the cat and the skies. love the smiles of all the men at you lunch.. the bros look like brothers, bob and his brother looked like brothers too. I love Ocala Forest, one of few places left that is natural Florida. have not been a cross state road 40 in years, hope its still the same.. Prayers for you Pond to fill up but not by hurricanes... it sure is dry..
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandra. Regarding the Ocala Forest, thankfully since it is protected as a national forest, much of it remains the same. We were on highway 19 and yes, we went across hwy. 40. I love that ride, even if it is LONG without a place to stop for a pit stop! LOL. (There are a couple of places if you know where they are. I DO!) We used to live in Salt Springs, which is in the middle of the forest, and we loved it there, but it became a little too far from necessities of life as we have gotten older and we wanted to be closer to things, but I still miss living there and seeing the bears walk through our yard, along with the deer and bobcats and coyotes, etc. It was a fun chapter in our lives, filled with adventure. I do miss it. Oh well. Praying now for the hurricane to fill the pond and do no harm!!
DeleteHappy Birthday, Pamela! 🎈
ReplyDeleteA very, very happy birthday! What a nice trip and the gift of a smile was indeed beautiful! lol The pond needs some rain in its season!!!
ReplyDeleteYour place is looking so festive. I need to get off my back side and follow suit. Glad your birthday was good. The photos are fantastic! LOVE how pretty the sky is lately. It's vibrant with color. Blessings to you all. ❤️
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Pamela!!! What a beautiful day you enjoyed with gifts from both family and God in that sunset. There is a belated card on the way, my friend. Praying for rain with you, too!
ReplyDeletePamela, you have the most beautiful smile. You light up the place just like the gorgeous sunset photos you showed us.
ReplyDeleteI love when birthdays are spread out over time. Glad you got to see family and do so much celebrating. Your gifts are wonderful.
Happy to see your kitty returned. Wonder where He goes?
Praying you get some more rain to fill up your pond. Its sad when things are so dry.
Again, Happy 75 !!!
Sue
Wow. I don't know if I'm more excited about those pumpkins or the panorama sunset God painted for your birthday. Thank you for sharing your Special Day with us; I'm so glad to have met you here in the Blogosphere. Happy "New Year" to you!
ReplyDeletewhat a fabulous day you had.. I always want to see a bear too and one time a few years ago as Sam and I drove the blue ridge parkway, I did see a baby bear!! however, your big ol' Bear was certainly adorable. he was kind too!!! 😂. The sunset was stunning.. one that you just don't want it to go away!! enjoy the start to a wonderful weekend!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I have read your blog for some time and enjoy your posts. I don,t always agree with your politics but that is okay to agree to disagree.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marion, and welcome to my blog! I alway love to have new friends visit! And yes, it is okay to agree to disagree, so long as we all do it peaceably! I try not to venture into politics too often, but some things cannot be ignored. My main purpose is that we should at least agree that we should be in prayer for our nation always. There is always much to pray for in this day and time. Thank you for visiting! I hope you'll come back and say hello again!
DeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! I am not far behind. You look great.
ReplyDeleteSo on your side bar - who is Lily Grace?
Nice trip to meet your husband's family.
I just love the sunshine behind the trees - gorgeous.
Did Blackie come home?
Sorry about missing the rain.
Good Morning! Thank you for your kind comments! Re: Lily Grace, if you click on the link on the sidebar for "The Adventures of Lily Grace", and go back to the beginning of when her "posts" first started, you will get the whole story. She is a sweet gift to me, actually from one of our blogging friends. For the first couple of years Lily "wrote" her own blog, with a little help from me. She is still a fun part of my daily routine, but we kind of ran out of exciting adventures to write about, so she makes cameo appearances on my blog from time to time. We've had a lot of fun together and Lily Grace has made a lot of people smile over the years. So if you want to get acquainted, you can follow her story through her blog posts. Yes, Blackie came home with no explanation for his whereabouts. He tends to go off on his own little adventures sometimes. I thought once we had him "fixed" he wouldn't do that so much, but I guess he's just the adventuresome type. I wish I could put a camera on him so I'd know where he's been! Then he could maybe write HIS own blog too! LOL. We are hoping to get some rain out of these storms that are brewing in the Atlantic Ocean, but hopefully not any major hurricane...just some rain to fill our pond would be nice. I hope you are enjoying your new Great-grandbaby! I know I would!! Have a lovely weekend.
DeleteHappy 75th birthday. You certainly don’t look your age one bit! Plus you’re healthy and that’s the main thing. It all sounds like a wonderful day for you. I’m so behind on posts - forgive me! Wow your pond is dry. You really do need some rain. Was there ever a time Still Waters was that dry? We’re really dry here but we’re coming to the end of our 8 month dry season and soon we’ll start getting our much needed rain. Supposed to rain next week. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Debby. Thank you for the sweet comment about my age. I am thankful to be healthy, or as healthy as possible for my "great age". God has been very kind to me. Regarding the pond, it has been dry before, but never quite this dry or for this long. We are hoping the current possible hurricane in the Atlantic will bring us some much needed rain without all the drama of a hurricane. That's usually what it takes to fill the pond back up for the year until the next dry season. Our summer and September have been unusually dry for our area this year. Thanks for visiting. I am behind also. Life happens!!
DeleteHappy Birthday Pamela! Looks like you had a great birthday! Those sunsets are magnificent. Sometime I go outside and just marvel at the clouds, the way the sun shines on them, the colors... God is so creative, and so good to us to allow us to see His glory in creation!
ReplyDeleteI smiled when I read your Psalm 139. I spent an hour this morning going over it for my Sunday school glass tomorrow. (Four through ten year olds with autism.) We'll talk about how the Lord created us and that He is with us no matter where we go. Then we'll make fingerprint leaves on trees.
God bless you!
Happy birthday
